[Day 189] OPEN
Who: Bon, Yukio, and Everyone else
Open: Open
When: Day 189
Where: one of the corners of the dragon field
What: Dumb exorcist boys got a bazooka. They're blowing stuff up. It's loud.
Format: action
Warnings: explosions
[If anyone is outside during the day today, they may see Bon and Yukio dragging a few things over to one of the open corners of the dragon field. Those things happen to be targets from the training building.
Shortly after they have finished dragging the targets to where they need them, a very distinctive sound can be heard. At first it is a loud fizzle, like a bunch of steam had been left off, but it is quickly followed by a loud, ground-shaking BOOM
Should anyone go investigate, they will find Bon holding a smoking bazooka, while both he and Yukio inspect the crater where one of the targets used to be. The boys have ear protection, thankfully, but they did not see fit to warn anyone else.
It's Bon who speaks first.]
That was bigger than I thought it would be.
[All Yukio does is facepalm and sigh.]

[He'll leave Bon to answer the question. He's the one in training, after all.]

Okumura-sensei has already finished all of his firearms classes, but I was still in training. With him here, he's been teaching me what I hadn't gotten to yet. Right now we're getting to the heavy-hitting stuff, and a bazooka sounded like it would be good to have anyway.

[Colin gets a thoughtful look on his face, but after a moment, he waves it off.]
I'm sure we can make do with plenty of stuff. If you guys need more reloads for that thing, you can come to my workshop. I've had plenty of luck making various grenades from salvage. And with the workstations on the second floor, both explosives and conventional ammunition are a breeze to make.
[He gives Yukio a nod, then.]
I'd heard you were a teacher, among other things. I'm glad to see you keeping up on your students' education. Especially when it comes to self defense.
[Then he gives Bon a look.]
Bazookas and other rockets are good weapons, but difficult to use. Keep at it, though, and you'll have the makings of a good combat engineer. You've already got the hard part down. Putting an explosive device within blast range of a target of any size is no easy feat. The only other trick is learning how to not blow yourself up.
Don't fail that test, by the way.

Yukio nods, grinning a bit.]
Suguro-kun is a good student. I have faith in him.

Don't worry, I know enough about explosives to avoid that.
[But getting praise from Yukio aww yeeeeee]
Think you could make rounds for this thing?

Rockets are easy, I could probably do a couple of different payloads if I had the right materials. High explosive is standard, but I've had luck making incindiary grenades, so I could probably make you some inferno rockets without too much fuss.
You just tell me what you need, and I can make it. Or show you how to make it, if you want to learn.
[It never hurts to teach someone how to maintain their own equipment.]

And having ammunition that's effective against the monsters we find on the Skyway would be especially helpful. Or things that make fires.
[Since they have a bunch of fire-people here, leftover flames from inferno rockets should be easy to control, right?]

[Colin gives a warm smile.]
After all, the more people we have who know how to use this stuff, the better off we'll be.
