[If anyone is outside during the day today, they may see Bon and Yukio dragging a few things over to one of the open corners of the dragon field. Those things happen to be targets from the training building.

Shortly after they have finished dragging the targets to where they need them, a very distinctive sound can be heard. At first it is a loud fizzle, like a bunch of steam had been left off, but it is quickly followed by a loud, ground-shaking BOOM

Should anyone go investigate, they will find Bon holding a smoking bazooka, while both he and Yukio inspect the crater where one of the targets used to be. The boys have ear protection, thankfully, but they did not see fit to warn anyone else.

It's Bon who speaks first.]

That was bigger than I thought it would be.

[All Yukio does is facepalm and sigh.]

[There's an annoyed screech from the field, and a hawk flies towards them, landing nearby.]

<Warn people next time. Some of us have sensitive hearing!>

[Suddenly burd and suddenly telepathy. But that's alright, Bon knows of Tobias, so he's not as surprised as he would have been normally. And he doesn't even have to take the earplugs out to communicate!]

I thought it'd be far enough away that the sound wouldn't hurt anyone.

[Yukio, however, does not know of Tobias, so the sudden telepathy catches him very much by surprise. He spends a few moments looking around for the source of the voice before he spots the bird nearby.]

... Is the hawk talking?

<Yes, the hawk is talking. Long story.>

[He balances on one leg and reaches up to scratch his beak.]

<The Bastion isn't that big, even with the field.>

It's big enough, and we were aiming out towards the nothingness. But we'll warn next time.

[... Now that is interesting. Yukio's more interested in the talking bird than he is in the current conversation, but he composes himself fairly quickly.]

<Over in the trees, yeah. And thanks. I don't have problems with explosions when I know they're coming, but I've been close to enough of them to worry.>

How did you get close to explosions? It's not a normal hazard for birds, even talking ones.
