Day 185 : Hendzel Caverns

[The moment he had seen the faint shine of pink crystal and the structure of something that might've been a cave at one point, Zulf had grabbed Zanya's arm in excitement. He'd abruptly apologized, of course, but there'd been no stopping the energy that had seemed to fill his movements or the wide grin that had taken residence on his face. It was certainly a bit of a change considering how worndown he seemed lately.]

[Once they'd gotten back, he'd immediately flailed a gesture for Raile and Zia to come over. Once everyone else had accepted an area to investigate, well... He may have convinced the two of them and Zanya to come along with him.]

[With how excited Zulf is, he's not sure of how long they've been traveling or even really paying attention, but soon enough the caverns are off in the distance and he points.]

There! There it is. The Hendzel Caverns, Zia, I'm positive you'll love it- Zanya did you ever visit them? I only did once but they were positively breathtaking, I'm so glad I'll be able to show you all! It's unbelievable that they would be so close to Caelondia, they should be a bit more eastward, but I suppose that's just what happens!

[Someone stop this man before he accidentally walks off the edge of the Skyway in his excitement and not paying attention.]

She can't help but watch him with her own smile, rare as it is to see that on her, and while she doesn't answer verbally she does nod in response to him. It had been ages since she'd seen the caverns, of course, not since her childhood, but she remembers them.

She can understand his excitement, if nothing else.]

Day 185 : The Magic Box

[Armed with a sword, a small satchel of wooden stakes, and whatever meat-shields she could get her hands on, Anya leads the way to what remains of her shop. Not having come directly from her world to the Bastion, she isn't completely sure what to expect. Was the Magic Box taken from the midst of the same battle she died in, or from a Sunnydale that survived it? Odd to think of her shop as outliving her. Is her beloved money still hers? She doesn't think she willed it to anyone, and they'd all be dead now anyway.

Well, time to clue in her support.]

If this place is crawling with the same bad guys as when I died, we might be coming up against some of the ugliest vampires that ever walked the Earth. You're safe in the sunlight, but if you actually try to take them on, go for beheading. Staking these guys is like trying to drive a stick of butter through concrete.

[Well if there's a need for battle, Rin is certainly going to be up to the challenge. She's seen Anya around but hasn't spoken with the woman much aside from casual greetings in day to day passing, but she figures now is as good of a time as any to tag along with her to the Skyway.

Day 185 : Standing Stones

[When the locations are described this time, Ryu gets an odd look on his face. It's not that he knows the place, not really... but he can feel something in his heart drawing him towards it. He's not sure how long he's going to be gone, or how far away the place is, so he can be seen bustling around, gathering a bag with some food.]

[If anyone wants to stop the idiot from going on his own, now is probably a good time to do so.]

"Leaving for awhile?" Even though most here can look after themselves, something about Ryu's naive and idealistic questions on their first meeting triggered Rosethorn's protective side. She's not one to let people wander off on their own. "Give me a couple minutes to get my pack and I'll go with you."

[Seeing the Pokemon Daycare Center, ruined and barely livable as it was had been, was a harrowing sight and a blow to N's already fragile psyche. He had Hilda hadn't talked about it much aside from their plans for the daycare center in the Bastion, and while he wanted to ask her just how long she had known that their world was gone along with Vatheon he simply couldn't find the words.

It was straining their relationship. He knew it, and yet the questions he wanted to ask simply died in his throat, and he forced himself to focus on the care for the soon-to-hatch eggs rather than give himself time and space to dwell on it.

They would have to talk about it eventually, he just didn't know when.

The Skyway, apparently, had other ideas in mind, and when Zayna brought forth the sketch of the odd building he just knew it was the one thing he didn't want to see.

His castle.

His old home.

A place of isolation and pain, and feelings he still hadn't worked out about the man who had raised him to be a false King.

His chest ached as he stared at it, lips pressed together with trembling hands that didn't know what to do. Should he go, and face those ghosts of his past once and for all? Or should he hand it back and attempt to pretend this wasn't some place he knew...]

Day 186 : Inverted Castle

[All roads lead to Rome, or so they say.

Once this had been true in a literal sense; Alucard knows this from the old maps that had been in his father's library... And therein lay the reason he is certain this was inevitable. So many so far had received a piece of the world they had come from, and so he is hardly surprised that Zayna's descriptions had finally yielded his own metaphorical Rome.

If he lingers near the entrance to the Skyway for a time, it is simply to wait to see if any will accompany him. Where he is going is merely fragments of an enemy's fortress; thinking of it as the corpse of a place he once called home would do him no good...]
