What: The group returns from the Observatory with one core, one rescued person, and a lot of salvage.

[On day 158, two days after they left, the salvage crew returns from the second trip to the Mancer Observatory. This time, instead of answers, they have loot. Lots and lots of loot. Also, they've brought a new person with them!

If everyone here wants to go pissing off the natives, I'll just take a calm sidestep out of the way when the horde comes rushing.

I couldn't wrangle all these maniacs if I tried. So I'm just gonna devote my energy to my work, and making sure that I don't look tasty when everyone else does.

Or, as the saying goes... "I don't need to outrun the hungry monster, I just need to outrun you."

How was everything here while we were gone, anyway? Anything exciting happen?

Probably not as exciting as your giant plant, but one of my neighbor's rooms was ransacked.

Like... prank ransack? Or an actual break in?

If it was a prank, this person has a terrible sense of humor. The place was completely trashed. It made me fear for my belongings.

[Colin frowns, and his eyes narrow slightly.]

Vandalism and theft? Smash and grab tactics, it sounds like. Or obfuscation to keep people from realizing the real goal.

Next project's going to be some cameras, scanners, and stun turrets, I think...

Do we know what was taken?

Hard to say if anything was, but I'd guess they were looking for something small, or something written.

Saix took pictures of the mess. I imagine he's gone to ask Nathaniel, he seems to like investigating things.

I need to get these supplies put away, and then check to make sure nothing's been disturbed. Would you care to join me, or would you rather go and see if anyone brought back something you might like?
