Day 153 | Open
Who: AZ, his Pokemon, and open!
Open: Open.
When: 153, late morning
Where: Outside the Workshop for AZ, various spots around the Bastion for his Pokemon.
What: AZ is tinkering with something, and his Pokemon are taking the opportunity to get in some exercise.
Format: Whatever works.
Warnings: idk possible Pokemon spoilers
Going on the Skyway is dangerous. AZ knows this, everyone in the Bastion knows this. Still, some dangers are a little unexpected - such as falling over into some mud. Limping back, AZ had figured out the problem - his leg brace was loose.
Which is why AZ is now sitting in front of the workshop, a screwdriver carefully held between his fingers, trying to tighten the brace. Every so often he frowns, unscrews something, and pulls the brace off to look at it more closely.
His Pokemon, however, are another story. Floette is floating over near the memorial, looking thoughtful and a little sad. Torkoal has parked himself near the forge's furnace, puffing smoke into the air around him. Golurk has found the training hall, and is throwing powerful punches as it works out. Sigilyph is flying around near the ranch, looking down at the animals there curiously.

Someone who was a soldier?

[She points at herself again.]
Floooo...

I see... I'm sorry you had to go through that. Did the Calamity take them, or...?

Garmuth is the God of Folly and Purpose, so... Was a bad decision made, then? Jevel is of Health and Atrophy.. [A pause and then he shakes his head.] I'm having a bit more trouble with that one, I apologize. Were things made better?

[How to get her point across... oh. She points to Micia's symbol, closes her eyes and pretends to go limp, and then opens her eyes to point at Jevel's symbol.]
[And then she points at Jevel's symbol again, and again, looking more and more sad each time.]

Something happened that made things weaker... until the point they died?

Pardon me while I just speak aloud to myself to see if I can piece this altogether better.
You and your friends were soldiers. However, a foolish decision was made that cost the lives of many.
So far that's correct, isn't it?

...You were supposed to die, but didn't?
no subject
Not quite. She did die, but was brought back.
Flo.
[Floette floats over to AZ and rests on top of his head. Comfy hairnest is go.]

[After jolting at the sudden voice, Zulf tries to swallow his heart back into his chest and turns to face AZ.]
I- I see. I've never heard of anything like that happening... so I suppose it simply didn't come to mind.

I was the one who brought her back. I built a machine to do it, though... I sacrificed many to do so.
[His tone is flat, as he tries to keep his emotion out of his voice.]
She... she knew. That's why she left, after that.
no subject
I see she changed her mind, however.
no subject
Because after she left... I turned the machine I used to revive her into a weapon. I... I ended the war, but everything was devastated.
no subject
I suppose that explains your opinions at the announcement the other day.

[He looks away, expression carefully blank.]
I wouldn't blame anyone who hated me because of it. But I really do... regret it. The people and Pokemon who died... just because I couldn't accept a world where I was alone, and where innocents died. And yet, I killed innocents.
I became what I hated, and even three thousand years later I can never make up for that. What I can do though, is at least try to make sure no one makes such a weapon again.

...What do you know about technology?

If you're really repentant, then let's see it.
