What: Ryu has some difficult questions for people.

Warnings: Possible mention of death/war/other upsetting topics. His questions today are running on the existential side.

After all the excitement of the day, Ryu is still left with questions. He just doesn't understand why people hurt each other, or go to war. He doesn't understand why people have to fight. None of this makes sense. And his heart hurts at thinking about all of these things, so there's really only one thing to do.

In the evening, Ryu approaches people, gently clearing his throat or tugging their sleeve if it doesn't look like that will provoke violence. It doesn't really matter the age - he knows he's one of the youngest in the Bastion anyway, even if he doesn't look it. Still, the worry in his eyes is evident as he speaks softly.

"... Do you mind answering some questions?"

"... I wish it was."

He loves the world, but... he doesn't want things to be hard or painful for people. It just feels wrong.

"Yeah. At least easy enough that it never has to turn to- killing."

People disagree because they're different, and being different is important, so things should never be so easy that everyone gets along without even trying.

"I don't like fighting. I can do it, but..."

But it only causes more pain.

"I don't really like it either, not when it's for real."

Sparring is okay.

"But I don't think most people fight 'cause they enjoy it."

[amnesiadragon]

"They shouldn't fight so much, then."

[coolerthansora]

"I think maybe the only thing we can do is try to stop it when we see it."

[amnesiadragon]

"Yeah... it's just frustrating."

[coolerthansora]

"I know."

Roxas hesitates, and then decides to try changing the subject. "Did I- introduce myself when we met? I'm kind of fuzzy on that first day."

[amnesiadragon]

"I... don't think so. We were all kind of busy trying to get to the Bastion."

He rubs the back of his neck a little. "I'm Ryu."

"Roxas."

He offers his hand. "Thanks for helping us out then."

[amnesiadragon]

Handshake!

"It's no problem. I like helping people out, anyway."

[coolerthansora]

"Yeah. You definitely seem like the type."

[amnesiadragon]

"Do I?" He looks a tiny bit sheepish at the thought. "I guess... people end up drawn to me, at least where I'm from. It's kind of weird to not help people out who help you."

[coolerthansora]

"Drawn to you? You mean because of your personality?" It's always been that way with Sora, but it seems like a funny way of putting it.

[amnesiadragon]

"Not... exactly. In my world, the Endless have big life streams, which draw in the ones around them."

[coolerthansora]

"The what?"

Most of that sentence did not make sense to him.

[amnesiadragon]

"Uh... Endless are like gods, except they're summoned from a different world. Life streams are like... your life force. The path your life will take. Some people can see it."

At least that's how the Abbess explained it to him.

"You mean you're like a god?"

[amnesiadragon]

"Half of one, yeah."

[coolerthansora]

Roxas frowns thoughtfully. He didn't know Ryu well back in Vatheon, but this sounds familiar, like something they talked about before.

"Then- you have another half. An Other?"

... I forgot that they talked in Vatheon oops

"Yeah. I've never met him... but I need to find him eventually."

"I... can understand that."

Sounds like there's a story there.

"W-well... He's human, but- I have another half, too. I didn't get to meet him for a long time, but in the world I was in before, we got to be like brothers."

He's smiling, but sadly. He really misses Sora.

[amnesiadragon]

"... I'm glad. That sounds really nice." He grins at Roxas. It's a nice thought. He's never met Fou-Lu and he really doesn't know what he's like personally, but it would be nice if he showed up her.

... Unless he got absorbed, but shh.
