Day 138 ;; Open
Who: Princess Mopesalot Zelda and OPEN
Open: Open
When: Day 138
Where: the Memorial
What: Zelda is paying her respects and being lost in thoughtagain
Format: Action
Warnings: Zilch
--
[ Zelda had finally left the hospital a couple days ago and taken her scant belongings to one of the empty apartment rooms instead. Rather than lay abed for the entire day, Zelda was forcing herself to develop some sort of daily routine. It began when the cloudiness of "nighttime" subsided, at which time Zelda went to the memorial to pray. ]
[ There were no relics related to Hyrulean religion for Zelda to pray to, but she prayed anyway, kneeling solemnly. After her prayers, she sat on a wooden bench and began to write in a blank diary she had picked up at the Lost and Found. Anyone who sees her writing will be unable to read such a strange language. ]
[ Please interrupt her, whether during prayer or while she writes. ]

[ Remembering herself, she slides down the bench to offer room for the man to sit next to her, should he choose. ] If I may, what sort of connections does your emperor's family have with the moon?

I never really studied it, my twin did that, but on the surface level... Well, the locking mechanism for the Sword Stair - the barrier that protect...ed the capital, it was based off of finding a certain set of statues and activating them in the order of moon phases. Starting with new and heading to full.
[ The knight might be faltering a little. Damn tenses. It was a little hard to think of it all gone, but at the same time, using present would be some painful delusion. ]
The Royal Family has a bloodline called Children of the Full Moon - which is a little weird that there is a fairy tale involving them. Except.. then it wasn't just a tale.
[ A grimace. ]
... Anyway, those with a lot of strength to the Child of the Full Moon line tend to have .. pink hair, and are able to heal and use magic without aid. The current princess is one, and her cousin the emperor has the bloodline, but not of particular strength.
[ Dammit Duke slipped back into present tense. Ah well. ]

Legend says that the Royal Family of Hyrule may be descended from an ancient goddess. [ She waves a hand idly. ] I am skeptical of its accuracy, though.

[ Particularly after their tale turned true, in a twisted way? ]
I suppose that means that you're from Hyrule then?

I am. [ Then corrects herself with a shake of the head. ] I was, rather. My name is Zelda; I was Hyrule's Princess.

Tenses. [ Duke says it with a bit of a commiserating tone. ]
I'm Duke, and I was a captain of the Royal Guard in Zaphias. ... which, until recently, all we had was an heir debate. [ ... Thanks to the knight's twin, even.
... and because the knight might as well try to get the topic a little lighter, here is a bow, Princess. ]

A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Sir Duke. Present circumstances aside.
