[After everything that happened yesterday Night found it nigh impossible to fall asleep and wound up staring out her window until the sun rose. By that point she was already outside, her coat left behind in her room but her red sword case slung over her back, like always. She kept her amulet hung around her neck, one hand idly toying with it as she walked around the apartment building.

Not too long into her explorations she finds herself at a river. Normally this wouldn't give her reason to pause, but two things happen here: 1) the familiar glimmer of fish scales tempt her from under the water and 2) her stomach growls. So to answer the siren's call of both her stomach and the river's invitation Night sets down her sword case off to the side and steps closer to the water.

She climbs up on a rock and peers into the water and pulls back her long mane of dark hair so that it doesn't touch the water. With eyes wide and pupils dilated she raises an arm and with lightning-quick reflexes she dives her hand into the water and pulls out a small fish, caught in her grasp. She looks pretty excited about this.]

Hell yeah-! [Until the fish smacks her in the face, surprising her enough to let her drop it back into the water. Damn.]

[Osahar, out to stretch his legs, sees the whole thing. The catch, the triumph... and then the smack in the face. Granted, he's never fished in his life, so he's not sure what the proper protocol is, but... still.

He also has never seen this girl before, so what better time to introduce himself? He stands at the shore, and sympathetically calls out to her. While he doesn't fish, he knows disappointment.] Aw... you had it.

[Night wipes off some fish slime on her face, frowning down at the water.] I didn't grip it hard enough... Next time for sure!

[She shoots a grin at him.] Want me to catch you one too?

For sure. [He laughs at that, though kindly. At the grin, though, he smiles and shakes his head.] No, I wouldn't even know how to fix one. But if you want to bring some to the kitchen, Rin would probably know how to make something good.

Is she the resident cook around here? [She's already looking back into the water, eyes intent on her next victim.] I just throw it over a fire usually an' pull it away before it burns! I guess you could make something fancy outta one, tho'...

Essentially, yes. There's one other that has the position officially, but Rin's mostly taken over those responsibilities.

[He smiles and shrugs.] I've never actually had fish, so I wouldn't know the best way of making it. ...do you mind if I watch?

[nightchan]

... You've never had fish? [He might has well have sprouted a second head with the look she's giving him.] That's a crime! It should be a crime! Fish is amazing!

[Well now she's determined.] If I catch you one you gotta at least try it when I cook it, yeah?

No, I'm afraid not. [He could go into explanations for how it's difficult to have a functioning fish farm on a world without a natural atmosphere, and how energy-intensive it is, and why the decision was made... but that'd go right over this one's head.

Besides, she's made a very gracious offer, and Osahar grins.] I promise that I'll try it. Just forgive me if I don't like it?
