[A delicious smell begins to waft out of the Distillery in the early afternoon. Anyone who investigates will find that Mireille has baked a rather large cake, topped with bright yellow frosting and blue flowers.

Also, whoever enters the Distillery will be asked a question.]

It seemed like the right time to have cake. I might not be able to make one when it's time for the festival, so why not make one now?

[After indulging in delicious cake, Rin can be found with a full belly lying on the grass curled on her side, tail swaying contently. This is probably the best she's felt in days.

Obviously this is a good time to bother her.]

[... Crona isn't even going to respond to that one. It goes without saying that Ragnarok can't have all the cake.]

If you wait until after dinner, won't people be full? They won't have room for cake.

Where I come from, we have a midsummer festival. Even though we don't have seasons here anymore, there has been talk of celebrating anyway. Esther and Nathaniel seemed interested.

It is still some days away, at least a month or more, but I may not be available to make desserts then.

[She pats her very large stomach as she says that.]

Mmm, I suppose so. Though if we eat cake before dinner, wouldn't you be too full for dinner?

[Well, it doesn't really matter to her if the cake is served before or after dinner. She'll probably just take her piece and go to a quiet corner with it. But, if she had to choose...]

I would say, wait to serve it until after dinner.

H... heh. That's... kinda funny. Before... everythin' that happened, our school was gettin' ready for a festival.

[Rin fidgets a little, looking down at her hands with a sad smile. A huff, and she straightens, looking brighter.]

You should teach me how to make the food for it!

Kaoru will be along shortly!

[someone has escaped her Kaoru and is not-so-subtly stalking through the grass. She wants to know what that long thing is that's moving... Auntie-Rin-chans beware.]

[fear not. Kaoru sees what she's doing there. If Tama-chan's clumsy stalking doesn't jolt Rin out of her food coma, he will.]

[scooping the anklegator up - to much flailing and chittering as she arcs her head back and butts the top of it against his chin. She wasn't going to be bad. Just naughty.]

Don't sneak up on your Auntie Rin-chan. [throwing a good-natured smile towards Rin] She hits hard, you know.

[If it weren't for the food coma, she would have caught on sooner, but it's Kaoru's voice that got her to sit up with a tired smile.]

[Oh definitely. Bon doesn't really have anything specific he wants to say to her, but he's still going to greet her anyway.

I think I could do that. If I can't prepare the traditional dishes, then I might as well make sure someone else can.

Rolling over and stretching her arms over her head, she opened her eyes to look up at Bon with a smile, tail curling next to her.]

[Bon didn't eat any cake yet, but relaxing on a nice day (as if it's never not nice, but shh) seems like a good idea.]
