[Open Action Post, Day 61] Getting Settled

What: Osahar's getting settled in and he has questions. All of the questions. Come and help him out!

[So... this is going to be a rough day. First appearing in this strange place, then encountering those... odd rescuers, and now he's still trying to figure out what happened with the Core and Bastion itself. Automated farm? An entire small community? There's so much weirdness going on, and Osahar's foundering on how exactly to proceed. He's gone through a lot, but this is beyond even his experience.

For now, he has to break this down. First step is to gather information and find out what's going on. So, during the course of the day, he tries to find the others, preferably alone, to talk.

He's not rude, though. He smiles and offers a wave, waits for the person to get done with whatever they're doing, and then he offers his greeting. Something along these lines.] Hi. Um... got a minute, to talk?

[Crona's a weird one, that's for sure. A full body twitch, jumping up at the greeting and whirling around, eyes wide and terrified.]

[A nod, recognizing the man as one of the people rescued from the Skyway earlier. Crona can't decide on the words to say, so Crona just stays silent.]

I didn't mean to startle you. [He offers an apologetic smile at that. He can't exactly blame someone for being a little jumpy, not when he'd been ready to blast people earlier.

Still, it seems like this one isn't too friendly. Frustrating, but he can deal with that. Normal prompting, then!] My name's Osahar Solarin. What's yours?

[It's more than "a little jumpy", but now that the first moment of initial fear is gone, Crona can calm down and initiate semi-normal conversation.]

Crona.

N-nice to meet you, Osahar. [Ah, what are the words for an introduction like this?]

Are you settling in? There are rooms. Did you find one?

[ The knight looks about, then starts for a hopefully comfortable spot to sit. ]

Nice to meet you, as well. [Good, it seems like the fear's going away a little. Still a little rough, but they're getting somewhere!] Yeah, I got room 10. Pretty nice, even if it's not anything like I'm used to.

[A pause, and then a quiet laugh.] Didn't have a lot of things to unpack, so yeah, I'm all settled. Just wanted to get to know people here. Maybe get some of my questions answered.

[buildingthefuture]

I appreciate that. [There are chairs enough in the apartments, the lady is more than welcome to them. Osahar remains standing, though, at least for now. He's got his left arm to his chin, too, and he regards this one with a curious gaze.] Well... firstly, thanks for rescuing me. I don't know how I would've done against those things by myself.

We're in 5. They're nice rooms.

... I don't think I can answer questions, you know? I just got here yesterday.

Not too bad. Just... not what I'm used to, at all. None of this is. [It's still pretty intimidating for him, in all honesty. He'll adapt, but for now, it's a bit rough.

Still, he quietly smiles at that.] Hah, actually, that is one question I was going to ask. I just suddenly... appeared, out of nowhere. It's good to know that I'm not the only one that happened to.

[Crona nods.]

You're not. Everyone came here from somewhere else. It just happened. They said the world exploded.

[ ... Duke doesn't really know what Osahar used, so just a bit of miming to shoot. ]

.. thing, works, but if it didn't only have three shots you'd probably have been good against just the little guys. Some quick tag-teaming with Alucard would have done some good.

Well... worlds, perhaps. But I know I didn't come anywhere near where some people have, and clearly it wasn't at the same time, either.

[Which is frustrating to him. If it had been all at the same time, he'd at least be able to guess at what had happened. But this? No. Not at all. He does have to smile a bit, though. 'Some people'? On second thought...] For example, there's no one I know who can do... quite what you did. What was that?

[Crona nods. There are a lot of different worlds.

Ragnarok is... a weapon, but he doesn't have a human form.

I don't know how it'll work here, to be honest. Atmosphere is always a little tricky- normally the charged particles are insulated from the surrounding environment, but here... [He shrugs, a sheepish grin on his face.] I'll have to test it out. And probably get something more low-tech, if I go out again.

[That being said, he looks at Duke, tilting his head a little as he does so.] ...and in turn, I have no idea how you did what you did. It was impressive, though... even for someone like me.

[ She really hadn't been doing anything worthwhile anyway. ]

I'm Marie, it's nice to meet you under less... busy circumstances.

[ This is a sheepish look. ]

Which means that my answer will sound a bit like a cheat. Magic. There's a bit of technical stuff but its all here.

[ And one hand to the side of the knight's head, next to a gold-and-red band keeping white hair out of the way. ]

Hello, Marie. I'm Osahar. [He grins, glad that Marie seems friendly enough. Maybe he can get some answers!] Hah, yeah... that wasn't something I expected this morning. What's going on here? I'm still trying to figure it out.

[And Duke's answer goes right over his head too, so they're even in that regard.] Ma... gic...?

[He stares at the knight, honestly not having expected that answer. It's... not possible. It does sound like a cheat. Or a lie. But... he can't exactly rail against someone else for saying something apparently irrational, when he's a Singularian.

So, he takes a deep breath, nods, and smiles.] Okay, sounds like we should both back up and get to basics, then. Want to explain yours first, or shall I go with mine?

I can try. Worlds are weird, and who knows if what I'm talking about has any something similar... or whatever.

[ Duke will take that seat now, sitting awkwardly with crossed legs. ]

Home, there's little particles in the air that... fuel everything. I guess ambient life force? But its everywhere, and with a small chunk of it turned rock. specialized for use for .... we call them artes, you can use it, with a formula, to.. heal, launch fireballs, call up tornadoes, call down meteors. Float, although I'm really not good at floating...

[ Distracted knight- ]

And formula means... formula. For that Spiral Flare back there, it was ... radius and length and how hot it ought to be... And I guess I could probably figure out how to change the color of the flame through things other than temperature...

[ Duke's distracted again. ]

All the glowing before it shows up is me setting it up.

[It's okay, he probably wasn't doing much except checking to see how many shards he has to help with the Bunny Fund.]

[Rin was back in the kitchen where she could usually be found during the day, after getting some rest anyway. Clad in an apron, hair pulled in to a ponytail, she's hefting a large beat up metal pot with water to the stove. She usually works with another woman in there, but she also happens to be very pregnant and often needs breaks, so for the moment the kitchen is Rin's alone.

Osahar at the doorway gets her attention, and she looks up with a smile after the pot thunks down on the burner.]

Hey newbie! Yeah, I got a bit. 'sup?

[He's not sure how to feel about a kid calling him a newbie, but... hey, he can laugh that off. He is kind of the new guy, there's no point in trying to deny it.

Normally he might offer to help, but... he can't cook, not really, even with his own tech. With a stove like this? No, he stays as far away from it as possible. It might bite, for all he knows!] Well... I've got a lot of questions, and most people don't seem to have answers. I hoped you might.

Hah... just knowing someone else feels that way helps. [He quietly laughs at that. The more he learns that he's not alone in his confusion and his newness, the less intimidated he feels. Sounds like there's plenty that no one knows.]

So, any helpful tips for the new guy? Or anything I can do to help? It seems like we're going to be here for... awhile.

[He's been hearing some things that don't make much sense, about the animals, but... well, he figures that it's not his concern. Instead, he smiles a little.] Well... I've been trying to figure out what's going on here, but most people I've talked to don't know much, either. I was hoping you might.
