[Colin has been positively hyperactive today. He wolfed down his breakfast like a man possessed, snagged a couple of fruit to eat in the field, and made sure to get his chores done far ahead of schedule. After that, he grabbed several wooden stakes and set himself to the task of analyzing the ground beneath his feet. Unseen, his eye has been taking detailed measurements of all of the buildings in the Bastion, and he's been setting out the stakes to mark an outline of a new building. Anyone feel like approaching him?]

[Anya is about the opposite of hyperactive today, and she has nothing better to do than observe the man driving stakes into the ground.]

[Colin looks up when he hears Anya speaking, and he looks back at her.]

Yes, those. You spend enough time around vampire slayers, and the sight of a wooden stake just makes you wonder where the fight is.

[Colin nods to himself.]

My father prefers high pressure water guns filled with holy water, when he can't get a handy mage to throw a ray of sunshine.

[He turns his attention back to the ground and marking the spot]

The slayers I knew were pretty strong believers in the brute strength approach.

[She blinks at his question, because it seems like no one's asked her that in some time. There may be reasons for that.]

Bored and a little horny, but overall I guess I'm not bad. How about you?

Brute strength isn't bad, but it does lack when facing a crafty opponent.

Handy for intimidation though.

Impatient, myself. I keep wanting to just grab my big toolbox and go to work, but... well, no tool box. I'm aiming to rectify that.

Well, the Monument will be able to create what I need at first. After that, I intend to re-make everything that I've been missing. It'll take time, but... Well, we've got plenty of time.

I've had a few years to get used to it, but there are certain annoying things about humans that will never change.

... You know, people never bother to ask that. There wasn't much ritual; I simply became Anyanka. I barely remember who I was before that.

[Colin gives Anya a faint smirk and he looks back to the open field again.]

Most people don't think to ask that because they've got preconceived notions. Demons are evil, angels are good, elves make toys, and so on...

We've got a little under a hundred different demons living in our empire back home. It pays to do a little thinking and questioning when you meet someone new. Makes things a lot easier in the long run.

[He grins, fondly remembering his wife's own opinion of the jolly fat man. He also won't try to sway Anya from her opinion, his own opinion of people is very similar, even if he doesn't show it.]

Afraid not. I'm married, and I've only slept with my wife twice. The girls I work with consider it absolutely criminal.

See, that's what makes our relationship work. She has less of a sex drive than I do. She told me that in therapy, she was asked if she had any desire for sex. Her answer? "A sex drive? Please, I think a sex drive is some sort of fundraiser for prostitutes."

... Lemme clarify, that sounds REALLY bad without context. Our society is polyamorous, and sex is a casual thing to most people.

I usually favored at least a little gore as vengeance demon, but there is something to be said for an easy clean-up.
