[Okay, so! Along with Red, everyone who is going on this trip should comment here with where they are (main group or backup group), and if they have weapons visibly out or not.]

[Psii is part of the main group and, frankly, is one of the least suspicious people there. Even with his blatantly inhuman appearance such as his floating, the fangs curled over his lips, his horns... It's offset by how emaciated and frail he still looks, especially considering his clothes seriously don't fit that skinny frame.]

[Also, he probably hasn't given his name to anyone yet. Uh. Oops. Oh well.]

[Zuko is in the front of the main group. She looks alert and ready for a fight, a military bearing, but her swords are sheathed across her back for the moment.

~~That's okay we can just call you Weirdo.~~]

[Bon is part of the main group too, though he is hanging back and keeping an eye out for any possible trouble. That means keeping an eye on what's above them, since the quarry has high walls at some points.]

[Tobias is hanging back, part of the secondary group. He hates the quarry, he hates how closed in it can be, but he knows he's fast and can go get help as soon as he spots anything. Morphing takes some time too, so it's not like it'll do him much good to be on the primary team.]

[Myrrh lingers with the backup group, wings curled around her so that she takes up as little space as possible. Her dragonstone, clenched tight to her chest, looks like any other gem or particularly shiny stone might.]

[Rin is in the front as she stated she would be, and while she didn't have her weapons drawn they're still visible, attached to the holster at her hips.

She's quiet, watching and listening to their surroundings intently. Hopefully if anyone does try to get the jump on them, she'll be ready to head them off.]

[Rob's in the backup group, with his glowing-eyed wolf pelt over his head and his two-handed axe in hand. He's bringing along a supply of potions and some other equipment courtesy of his bag of holding, but if needed he'll be assisting in combat too.]

[Alucard is here with the second group. Sure, he could be up front with the main team, but someone has to stick back and be the tank for Team B. His sword remains in its sheath at the moment and he's not making any threatening moves. Relaxed as Alucard is though, it's the same sort of confidence as an apex predator has when wandering their domain.]

[Good news: there isn't a huge group there! In fact, there is only one person down in the quarry, standing near the core. He looks a little nervous too, because he knows about the kinds of monsters these cores attract.

Anyone who would have met him before, it's Grey. All by himself, with the core.]

[...well, there's the bait. But even if Grey is the only person here, that doesn't mean there's no danger. Would they sacrifice his life in order to harm the rest of them? Maybe, if they think they can just bring him back.

Also, it is a core. And there's always danger with cores.

Zuko raises an arm to halt the group with some distance still between them, and addresses Grey.]

What is this?

[Oh, he doesn't like this. He flaps to get some altitude, looking around to see if he can find any other hidden fighters.]

[Yeah this seems like a trap. Rob sees a watchtower and decides to get a better vantage point. He sits down cross-legged and facing the tower, then focuses on the highest point he can see on its roof. The magic of the wolf pelt he's wearing activates, and his viewpoint switches to the targeted location, like there's an invisible camera there that he's looking through. He starts "panning the camera" around the area, seeing if there's anything or anyone of interest visible from his new vantage point.]

[Rin came to a halt when Zuko raised her hand, standing with Kintarou (who was no longer a Tepig but had evolved in to a Pignite) at her side. Both of them were tense and quiet, Rin's ears still trained to their surroundings even as she listened to Zuko speaking to Grey.

She didn't like the feel of this any more than the others did, but she wasn't about to open her mouth when she knew she wasn't the most diplomatic of people. Better to be prepared for whatever trap was going to be sprung.]

[It seems a terribly obvious trap. Easily obvious enough that it has Alucard sniffing the air for any sign that there might be anyone who shouldn't be here.]

[Yeeeep, obvious trap. He's keeping his eyes on the area around them while Zuko talks.]

[Grey sees the group, and he sort of just. Waves nervously at the group.]

Oh, hey there. They were right, you guys came after all-

[And then he sees Red, and his eyes go wide.]

You- you brought her here?!

We thought she'd be interested in finding a core.

[At least that's what they told Red. Zuko glances at her to see if her face gives anything away ~~as if Zuko is any good at reading people~~.

She looks back at Grey, trying very hard to keep her tone neutral. She can easily tell how nervous he is, she doesn't want to set him off.]

I'm guessing you were only expecting us.

Whatever you're doing here, you don't have to go through with it.

I...

[Grey shakes his head.]

I'm not going to 'go through' with anything, because there's nothing to do here. All I had to do was stand out here with this core.

Why?

If you wanted to meet with us, or give us a core, there are better ways to do it.

[aka, don't try to pretend this isn't some kind of trap. Although it's possible Grey doesn't know any more than his role in it.]

Y'ain't exactly instillin' us with confidence here, buddy.

[Rin's hand rested on the hilt of her sword, though she was still not drawing it. She wasn't going to attack unless something started first.]

[Y'all can keep bickering, if you like. Psii is just going to close his eyes and see if he can foresee anything bad happening to do with the quarry. Might as well use his asshole connection towards Doom for good, or something.]

[Yep, while talking is going on, Alucard's just gonna be sniffing around in case anything changes, because really, this isn't saying "trap." It's standing on top of a platform in the town square and doing a bombastic musical number about it.]

[Tobias agrees, which is why he's doing another pass to see if he can see anything. Alucard's got smell covered, he can cover sight and hearing.]

They're...they're not here. But they wanted you to be here, so you weren't somewhere else.
