Day 285 [open]
Who: Azula & anyone
Open: Open
When: Day 285
Where: Northern Bastion
What: Azula arrives in Bastion.
Format: bracket-action but happy to match
Warnings: n/a for now.
[Azula was angry. Whether or she actually believed that her world had been destroyed, blah blah blah was a different question entirely. It all sounded crazy (this whole world sounded crazy - maybe it was all just one giant hallucination and that's a terrifying thought), but more importantly she had better things to do. If this was some kind of spirit-world shenanigan, she wanted no part in it. She had been in the middle of something important, damn it.
Which is why, naturally, she gets herself quickly and fairly easily from the Skyway to Bastion. If anyone was capable of figuring it out, it was her. And when she's on a mission to get to the bottom of something, that drive can move mountains.
When she questions the person who told her about this "calamity" she doesn't get answers she wants and sets a tree on fire in retribution, but the action is...oddly taxing? And for the first time in her career she actually feels like it's difficult to firebend which angers her more, RIP patches of grass.
Since all of that is clearly getting her nowhere she proceeds to go question anyone who is around in the most tactful and personable way possible:]
You there! Tell me what is going on here immediately.

How quaint.

It's kinda depressing, really.

That's actually a hard question to answer without knowing anything about your world; I could easily skip over a major difference without realizing it. But in general...
[He thinks of the various differences he's noticed already.]
My world's called "Earth". The technology in my world is at or above what we have here, except for the Monument and most of the stuff from Colin's world. There's no magic or supernatural phenomena in my world; if it can't be done with muscle or technology, humans can't do it. Humans are the only intelligent creature in my world; there are no dragons, orcs, elves, or anything else that can talk. The world is divided between around 200 countries, with no single ruler. A few countries are significantly stronger than others and can throw their weight around more, but none of them can really be said to be "in control", though some might make the claim. Humans have set foot on our planet's moon, and we've sent unmanned scouting machines to the major planets, but so far we haven't found anything living on any of them.
...Not sure what else to say without anything to compare my world to.

Turns out that most kinds of magic require you to have an ability that you're born with, so even now that I'm here I can't try to learn any. Insult to injury, kinda.

[doesn't even feel sorry just #blessed]

The only one I've run into so far that doesn't seem to work like that instead requires years of dedicated study before you can do even the most basic things and there's no way I can devote that much time to something that wouldn't keep us alive.
