[Day 282] I'm covering my ears like kid... [OPEN]
Who: Rin, Oshawott, Kintaro (the Tepig)
Open: Open
When: Day 282, evening
Where: The Monument
What: The loss of a brother
Format: Will match!
Warnings: Rin's temper. :|
[Speaking to Otoha had taken up a decent chunk of Rin's afternoon. Not that she minded, it had been a nice conversation about the things he had planted via shards among other things, and the company was enjoyable. But she did have other things to do, like bringing dinner to the hospital once evening rolled around. After all, it wasn't like Yukio was going to drag himself away from his work to get food on his own.
With a happy hum and a tail wag, Rin headed to the hospital with Kintaro at her heels. She had no idea anything was even remotely off until she stepped through the entrance doors.
And that's when she saw Oshawott sitting on the floor in the lobby area, making distressed noises that almost sounded like crying. Rin entering got his attention, causing him to run over to her. He was chattering so fast she could barely catch what he was trying to tel her, but soon enough he had her hand in his tiny paw and was tugging her to Yukio's office.
... which was frighteningly empty.
His books, files, notepads were all still there, but her brother was nonexistent.
Feeling a tightness in her chest that she didn't want to feel, she tried to justify his absence, saying aloud that maybe he was with a patient, or had stepped out for a moment.
But Oshawott shook his head, and a word was understood that made her heart sink completely to her feet.
"Skyway."
Grabbing both Oshawott and Kintaro up she bolted from the hospital, calling Yukio's name frantically as tears burned painfully in the corners of her eyes. He couldn't, he wouldn't--
There was no reply. No chastising voice telling her calm down, keep her voice down. Not even a distant glint of light off familiar glasses.
As night came across the Bastion that evening, Rin wouldn't return to the kitchen nor to her apartment. Curled up with a still-crying Oshawott in her lap and Kintaro at her side, she sat in front of the Monument, face blotched red but tears no longer falling.
Just a blank stare out to the space far beyond the edge of the floating land that was their current home.]

You'd have to ask the crazy bear thing Monokuma-chan! Or maybe the rabbit thing Monomi-chan knows?! ... wait, wasn't her name Usami-chan??
...
Anyway, it was just some kind of totally messed up game to Monokuma-chan!
.......... maybe if Ibuki could get her memories back, she'd know something???
no subject
How did you lose your memories?
gosh if Ibuki gets back her memories...
... well, not Ibuki, though. She makes her own outfits. No way is she gonna wear a boring uniform.
ahaha... ha...
Then again, their head master is kind of a creepy moe fan...
Ugh.]
That's just weird...

[It's not like she's morbidly curious or anything, but if Ibuki wants to keep going just to get it out of her system Rin would be willing to listen.]

[She hesitates a bit at that]
... At first, it seemed like nothing was really going to happen. Sure, Monokuma-chan told us killing somebody was the only way to leave, but...
There was this guy, Byakuya-chan. He was totally cool, especially with his piggy fingers. He took charge and everything, and it seemed like everything was going to be okay.
no subject
What happened after that?
no subject
But... then things got all messed up. Teruteru-chan found out Nagito-chan sent the letter, so... Teruteru-chan decided to turn it against Nagito-chan to kill him instead.
It... didn't quite turn out that way, though. Byakuya-chan ended up killed by Teruteru-chan instead.
... after somebody gets murdered, Monokuma-chan gives us a chance to investigate everything, and then there's a weird sort of classroom trial. If enough people vote for the person that did it, the murderer gets executed. If they don't, everybody else dies and the murderer gets to leave.
So... at the end of the first trial, Teruteru-chan was...
[she just trails off]

[Good lord Ibuki what kind of Lord of Flies hell hole did you live in before now.]
no subject
Yeah, yeah, pretty much. Monokuma-chan made a show out of it, though, but...
[Okay no she doesn't want to give out the details of the execution-]
... Before Ibuki ended up here, there was a second murder and another trial. And then, the night before Ibuki ended up here, Akane-chan tried to fight Monokuma-chan herself. Nekomaru-chan ended up saving her, but... he ... probably died.
... and...somehow... I get the feeling that...
... I was next? I mean, it doesn't make sense, right? I'm too genre savvy to end up in somewhere stupid to be a victim...
But just... that night, when I was falling asleep... it felt like something was changing and... I don't know, there was this... really... overwhelming feeling of... despair???
... but then, the Calamity happened, instead.
no subject
If your gut instinct was sayin' that, then there's probably some truth to it...
[Not that Rin would have wanted Ibuki to die. Sure the Calamity saved her from it, but that doesn't erase the fact that it could have easily happened.]

[It'd been well over a month now since she arrived at the Bastion, but she could still remember that awful feeling]
It was like I was... my mind was slipping away? Like... I was becoming somebody else...
no subject
I... know how that feels...
no subject
[It was quite a different situation in Ibuki's scenario, not that she had any idea just what it was. If she'd stayed any longer, though, she would've found out...]
I... don't get it, though... I mean, it was like... it didn't make any sense, I don't... I don't even get what was happening.
Whatever it was... it was gone when the Calamity hit...
no subject
[Rin is glad it's gone, though. She likes Ibuki as she knows her now.]
no subject
I guess it doesn't matter now... now that it's just... all gone.
...
... ... I... I'm the only survivor from the island, somehow...

You know...
It totally sucks that none of Ibuki's classmates are here, you know?! Seriously, screw the calamity!!

[Rin had Bon, which was more than a lot of others had, but there were still the rest of her class. Shima, Shiemi, Konekomaru, even Shura and that weirdo Takara. To say nothing of the rest of the teachers, and their families.
Now even Yukio was gone, and he wasn't even from the version of her world that existed.
It more than just "sucked", it was a damn mess...]
no subject
Wait, wasn't Ibuki here to comfort you first??
[Either way, she's going for a hug with Rin]
no subject
It's fine. I feel better...
[Somewhat. She's going to miss Yukio like hell but there really isn't anything that can be done about it.]
