Day 282 [Open]
Who: Otoha, everyone.
Open: Open
When: Day 282
Where: The fields in the southern part of the Bastion; the Distillery; the Hospital
What: Otoha made some purchases, and now he's using them.
Format: I'll match!
Warnings: Otoha can have a foul mouth if pushed, so. Language.
Otoha doesn't consider himself someone who does much 'for the public good' - or he didn't used to. Now is different. And considering that they all have to work together here, he might as well give it a good shot. So he's made some purchases, in the hopes of... at least attempting to contribute. He's well aware that he doesn't have a lot of skills, but... after that conversation with Paarthurnax, he at least has some idea.
This morning people might be surprised to find Otoha up and about, given that he's not really a morning person. Still, he heads out, an old-looking book in his hands. He's glad that he remembered at least a few of the plants so he knew what to buy. And there they are - in the more southern part of the Bastion there's some ginger and chamomile. He bends to pick some, carefully inspecting the plants. He's not totally sure what he's looking for other than 'it matches the book'.
A little later on, he's managed to find his way to the Distillery, both to find some food for himself and to drop off what he's got. He hasn't managed to gather a lot, but he didn't really want to overpick since he's not sure how fast the Bastion regrows things. He pulls out some of the ginger and puts it on the counter. ... He knows that it gets prepared for food somehow but he's not entirely sure what.
Even later in the day he heads over to the Hospital. He needs to get some more bandages, and he also needs to drop off the rest of what he has. He shifts a little awkwardly, looking around to see if he can find someone. He's not sure where medicinal herbs would go here, and he doesn't really want to mess up a doctor's system since... well. Doctors are people you shouldn't piss off if you can help it, he knows that much.

"Hey."

Rob jumps slightly in his seat and his head whips around to look at Otoha.
"Uh, hey."
no subject
"What are you reading?"
That's a safe question, right?

He just... sets his book down and opens it up. "Not alchemy, but... herbs."
Though Robb will probably note that it's a mix of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean that wouldn't make sense to anyone from a different world.
no subject
"Like for herbal medicine? Or for cooking?"

"Are you a healer, then?"

Can't understand what it's like to feel physical pain? That rings a bell...
"You're one of those people with no sense of pain? From what I've heard, that's... inconvenient, to say the least."
no subject
But - oh. Yeah. He just shrugs. "I've been like this my whole life. That's why I keep bandages in my coat."
no subject
"How does the balance work?"

Distillery
Her back is turned, though, tail barely peeking out from beneath a ankle-length skirt. Something clatters in the pantry loudly, getting her attention with her head snapping up and an upset groan sounding before she wanders off to the source of it.
"Kintaro! What did I tell you about stayin' outta the damn pantry?!"
no subject
"Something wrong?"
The tail doesn't bother him at all. He's seen a lot weirder.

Sighing the girl picked up a strange pig-looking creature who seemed far too pleased with himself and the piece of jerky he had gotten from a bin of the same that had been knocked over.
"Just the bottomless pit I call my Pokemon."
"Tep!"
"Yeah, yeah, be prouder you glutton."
no subject
He takes a few steps back so he doesn't crowd them. "... I've never had a pet myself. Seems pretty smart if he can get at that, though."
no subject
Said, of course, while Kintaro is happily chewing on that jerky.
"... awesome and slightly annoyin'."
"Pig!"
"I said slightly, you brat. Aaaanyway, somethin' I can help you with?"

That gets her to grin from ear to pointy ear, tail practically doing a dance under her skirt. Ginger! How long has it been since she even properly made teriyaki, or any other dish that required it?
no subject
The wagging tail just makes him smile a little bit. It's somewhat hesitant, but it's genuine.
no subject
Yes, smile. She's cute, damn it.

He opens his book and flips through it, pressing a finger to the entry. "That's right. Anxiety, swelling, and cramping."

She was planning on going to see her brother after she was done in the kitchen, so she could ask him more about it later.
"I usually just drink green or black tea myself."
no subject
Coffee is more his thing. He closes his book and leans on the counter a bit. "Then again, you probably don't want me cooking in here. Coffee and tea are about the only things I can make."
