Day 270 - Let me tell you about Skyrim
Who: Paarthurnax
When: 270
Where: All throughout the Bastion
What: So Paarthurnax went shopping...
Format: I'll match
As the sun rises on the Bastion, it becomes increasingly clear to its residents that it is considerably more lively than the previous day had seen set on.
It's perhaps immediately obvious to any who venture near the lake. On the Bastion's side, there are enormous walrus-like creatures that seem to stick close to the water, either submerged in it or lounging on shore. Opposite of them, on the Dragonfield's side of things, are what appear to be rocks at a distance... But did that just move? It seems that Mudcrabs are also inhabiting the area.
Further along, in the trees of Dragonfield, foxes can be seen weaving in and out of trees with coats of brilliant red or eye-catching white. They seem playful enough, and seem to, for some strange reason, congregate near certain trees more than others... Did that branch creak? Did you see something move out of the corner of your eye? Don't worry about it. The Bastion's Spriggans are just shy. At least there are new juniper trees as well, available for harvesting. As for those who go out onto the Skyway and regularly pass the Mammoths, they'll see these massive beasts have newer and much smaller companions: elk which pass between the large legs with apparently little bother.
For any wondering where all these new creatures have come from, well, the answer is probably obvious. Paarthurnax is dwelling about Dragonfield, checking on the root-like plants which are growing over the rocks of the not-mountains and nosing the newest kind of Nirnroot which glows pale pink and sounds just a bit off compared to its greener cousin. Following him as he inspects his most recent purchases are a Dwarven Sphere and a Dwarven Spider, the latter balancing a jar of... Are those teeth?
Regardless. Feel free to speak to the old dragon as he goes about his business, or simply investigate all these fascinating new things.

But the new plants have him interested, and he crouches by some ash creep, touching it and sniffing the air to see if it reminds him of any plants he knows. ... No, not really. But as he continues looking at the new plants, he heads straight towards Paarthurnax and freezes as he gets close, hand on his sword.

"The ash creep has grown well," he says, as if Otoha isn't about to attack him. "I am glad of this. It is a useful plant, in skilled hands."

Once over the bridge he heads straight for the dragon peering at something on the not-mountains and followed by... Huh. He honestly never considered dwarven constructs to be capable of being cute until this very moment. But regardless...
"Um, Paarthurnax? Did... did you see those... walrus-things by the lake?"
no subject
"I had thought they would be a contribution to the Bastion."

"Where do you keep finding these wonderful toys, Paar?" Colin asks, approaching without reservation and studying the spider and the sphere.

From Paarthurnax comes an amused huff, and he nods to Colin. "Drem yol lok. It is only the Monument's power which allows me to bring such things here. I spoke of the Dwemer's creations with you before, and thought you would appreciate the company of more of them."

"You've been busy," she observes. With his new metal pets, she's pretty sure at least most of this is his doing.

THAT'S A LOT OF WALRUSES
AOI JUST WANTED TO GO SWIMMING, SHE IS NOT ABOUT THIS
She's just gonna...carefully make her way to the other side of the lake where Paarthurnax is. Given all the other new creatures catching her eye as she wanders and the way the friendly neighborhood grandpadragon inspecting them all, she doesn't really ask who's responsible for these things.]
...Hey, they aren't gonna mind if I swim in there, are they? [Walruses didn't exactly hang around her swimming pools at home; what's she supposed to expect of these things. Partly to indicate them and partly because if she lets herself stare at that giant spider thing she's gonna freak out, she stares pointedly at the walruses-things flopping and lounging about the lake.]

[Like, don't get right up on top of a not-walrus. They don't like that. They are grumpy things like that, although they won't gore anyone to death with their tusks.]

tldr moon is paranoid. Dusk-
... Or at least he didn't mind it was in the water until he came out one morning and there sure is a tusked waterling in the water nearby. Sure, all its doing right now is floating there in the water, but tusked creatures can do some serious damage.
Moon hides back in his boat for... the rest of the day. He wasn't going to inspect the things while he's soft and squishy, which means that he's going to do so when its fairly dark out. His boat rocks a little when he shifts and climbs over the side into the water.
There is a confused, much smaller lizard-man scenting the air about that pink glowing plant, and warily eyeing the tusked creatures. The whole area smells like the big scaled thing - dragon? - and he's not sure how he's supposed to feel about that.

In fact, with most of his visitors having ceased their investigations of the new additions and Colin having taken the Dwemer creations, Paarthurnax is relaxing there now. At the visitor investigating the plants, he speaks up from deeper in the field. "Nirnroot. They have a strong resistance to magic, but can be dangerous to health and energy. It takes care to make them into a proper potion, I have heard."

In any case, she finds herself standing on the bridge between Dragonfield and the rest of the Bastion, squinting into the trees at every flicker of movement. She seems...hesitant to cross over, perhaps because she keeps thinking of the Cannery and the day ahead...oh, but it's so tempting to go in and explore, just for a little while!

[Predictably, the elk HAUL ASS the second they realize the dhampire is moving towards them, and then it's every antlered animal for themself while the mammoths look down at the shenanigans in annoyance.]

Edea had been avoiding the place because in her head dragons still equate to incredibly painful death. But there's enough going on here that she's willing to chance encountering Paar. She's on guard (and armed, but when is she not?) but regarding the foxes with a hint of a smile on her face.]

Her response to said spider is to just scream and back up from it, because what the hell that giant mechanical spider is almost up to her shoulders. Why would someone get something like this why?
Grandpa dragon seems like the best chance for protection, though, so Nanaki will scurry over to him as soon as she sees him.]
wow thanks for not telling me about this dw
[Paarthurnax, in contrast, is much calmer as he twists his neck to look to Nanaki.]
I apologize that these have disturbed you, Nanaki.

And that's no different today when she ventures in to the Dragonfield to see what this is all about. The foxes turn snouts to the air, sniffing about before turning with excited yips in her direction.
At first Kintaro, who had been perched on her shoulder calmly, was none too sure about this sudden charge of happy foxes, but a few minutes of careful moving about, sniffing and generally testing one another the Pokemon finds himself in the middle of a pile of fluff while Rin just laughs.
Should Paar wander over he will find her sitting there, the rest of her venture completely forgotten as she scratches ears and chins and bellies.]

[Paarthurnax seems a bit amused as he wanders over, but no less pleased. He expected this, honestly.]
