Day 269 [CLOSED]
Who: Rin and Yukio.
Open: Closed
When: Day 269
What: Having the local doctor as your brother isn't as convenient as you'd think.
Format: action
Warnings: Talk of sex, possible pregnancy, and general bodily functions.
[It was still strange to be able to do normal things. They were living on a floating rock at the end of all things and yet it was only here that Yukio could decide to take the day off to go swimming. Not that he'd taken the entire day (no way, this is still Yukio we're dealing with), but Oshawott demanded more variety and physical activity than Yuki's normal office hours provided, and it was his responsibility to keep his pokemon happy and healthy. He enjoyed it most days, the surprisingly patient companionship that his little partner usually offered, but such a young thing could only be expected to remain idle for so long, and swimming seemed like the natural way to burn off that extra energy. It was good for both of them, really.
So when Yukio makes it back to the apartment, a bag over one shoulder and his hair still damp, he's in a pretty decent mood. He doesn't even scold Oshawott when the little pokemon nearly trips his trainer in his rush to get through the door. He just sighs, shaking his head and smiling a little as he shits the door behind them.]
Neesan, I'm back.

Neesan, I'm back.
Re: 8|
... What do you think is wrong?
[Seriously, he can't help you if you don't speak up.]
no subject
There's a long silence from her, and a few times she tries to start but all that comes out is a stuttering "I..." and a fearful look in her eyes.
Eventually she drops her face in to her hands, and mutters just loud enough to be heard:]
I think I might be pregnant...
no subject
Unfortunately for Rin, what she has is Yukio.]
... What?
no subject
The reaction makes her wince visibly, and oh boy the flight or fight reflex is strong in her right now. She's torn between screaming at him before things even get to the point where screaming would be necessary, or just diving head first in to the bedroom and locking the door before Yukio could get his hands on her.
Either one is likely going to end badly, and the second option would likely result in Bon being hunted down.
It takes everything she has to swallow it down and keep her voice from shaking as much as her hands, but she manages.]
W-we had protection! I swear we did! It's not his fault, please don't be mad at him...
[Just... going to play the pronoun game even though Yukio knows exactly who she's talking about.]
no subject
Don't want to throw Bon under the bus, huh? Because hunting him down is definitely an option that's crossing Yukio's mind. Really, he should be here with Rin, shouldn't he? It would be the responsible thing to do. Unless...
Yuki takes a deep breath, reaching up to shove his glasses up his nose in an agitated gesture.]
... Have you told him?
no subject
[Several days ago, in fact. Before the stuff with the Ura even started.
That's how long it's taken her to even come to Yukio about it.
... please don't hunt Bon down.]
no subject
How long have you suspected you might be pregnant?
[Man, that clipped tone... He's holding so much back right now. Beware, Rin.]
no subject
But this is Rin. She always manages to press the wrong button one way or another.
Which is one of the reasons she chased Bon off. He should be there, yes, but in her mind she was sparing him from whatever fall out was going to come from it.]
A... a little over a month, I think?
[Even in the Bastion she had been pretty regular up until this point, and she was sure she was due for another cycle shortly after that first time with Bon. That's what had clued her in to the possibility of it, anyway.
Of course she had never considered that other factors could be causing a late period, but... one thing at a time.]
no subject
More than a month? And your just now telling me?!
no subject
That reaction doesn't get quite the same flinch as last time, and any upset quickly slides in to a flat expression.]
'cause I knew you were gonna act like this no matter what I told you.
[Seriously, Yukio. You're kind of really predictable.]
no subject
Well how am I supposed to react?! You just-
[... Okay, maybe a little predictable. He cuts himself off and scrubs a hand through his still damp hair, paying no mind to the way it makes his hair stick up. It'd be pretty funny if it weren't for the conversation they're trying to have.]
... How long has it been since your last period, then? A month? Two?
no subject
Rin: 1, Yukio: ...
Well let's be fair he's still way over 1,000 but hey a win on her side is nice once in a while. Even one in a situation like this.
There's no laughter from Rin about the state of Yukio's hair for much the same reason he doesn't even notice it. Kintaro does start to snicker, but chances of being met with an elbow to the side from Oshawott are high.]
Month and a half, somewhere around there.
no subject
[Chances are very, very high. Yukio's been pretty chill about most things during his time in the Bastion (chill for him, anyway), so the tension rolling off of him now? Oshawott hasn't seen anything quite like it since the plague incident right after his hatching, and that had a very different feel behind it. In fact, Oshawott maaaaay be trying to tug Kintaro behind the couch.]
Have you taken a pregnancy test yet?
[The Monument can make donut trees, it sure as heck better be able to make a simple pregnancy test.]
no subject
Sighing outwardly, Rin shifted and pulled out a box from beneath the sleeves of her too-big hoodie, holding up exactly what Yukio had been asking about.]
I couldn't. Zulf tried to get me one but the damn thing is in like... I'unno, fuckin' German or somethin'.
no subject
Yukio squints at the box Rin's holding. Zulf. She went to Zulf before him. To a man from a world that Yuki's pretty sure didn't have things like pregnancy tests.
... Yeah, no. His jaw clenches and he glares daggers at the box in Rin's hands for a moment longer before he turns without a word, grabs his bag off the hook, opens the door, and stalks back through it.]
no subject
And, and in Rin's defense Zulf approached her first. He was trying to be helpful, okay?]
W-- hey!
[The yelp makes it out of her mouth after Yukio has already left the room, too startled at the start to realize what he was doing until after the fact. She scrambles off the couch and tosses the box to the side, chasing after Yukio barefoot in her comically oversized hoodie while making a whole lot of noise in the process.]
Yuki-- Yukio! Get back here-- don't you dare go after Ryuuji--!
no subject
He does stop when Rin yells after him, though, already halfway down the hall when he turns to hiss a response at her.]
I'm going to the Monument, Neesan.
[To get a proper test. One in a language you can read. :|]
no subject
This was almost expected of them, really.]
... oh.
[She doesn't bother with "you could've said that" because she knows he wouldn't have, instead catching up to match his stride as much as she can, sleeves hanging over her hands so far it looks like she could flap them and fly away.]
Well I'm comin' with you then.
