Day 255 [Open] First rule of Pillow Fight Club: Never talk about Pillow Fight Club

Who: Ibuki and you! And pillows!

When: Mostly noon/afternoon.
Where: Everywhere in the Bastion.
What: Ibuki's bored and is attacking everybody with pillows
Format: Action but ok with switching
Warnings: Pillow abuse


[Sometime after lunch, Ibuki's voice will ring out from everybody's amulet that is within the Bastion's communication range-]

IBUKI IS DECLARING IT NOW. THIS. IS. PILLOW WAR!!!!!!!

[Ibuki will not be responding to amulet network messages that reply to her]

[Rather, she is running around with a bunch of pillows. Should she spot you, prepare yourelf, for she could do a number of things]

[1: Should you not notice her, she'll try to sneak up behind you and bop you on the back of the head with a pillow. If it looks like you're in the middle of important work, it'll be a very soft bop]

[2: If you're watching her, she'll run up to you and try to pillow bop your face]

[3: There is no 3]

[4: She may be hiding around a corner, and when you get close... "BWAH!" Pillow to the face!]

[5: Even dragons aren't safe from pillows.]

[6: If she knows you fairly well, especially if you're a member of her band, she might be coming into your bedroom directly to pillow fight you.]

[Well, to his credit now that he was actually paying attention, his body was on full alert and the sight of an incoming pillow finally got a reaction, even if it was just on instinct. It was a short move, more a pivot on the ball of his foot, but the slight movement brought him around to Ibuki's side and caused her pillow to hit nothing more than air as he attempted to gently bop her back.]

Oooh, Ippo-chan, Ippo-chan, it's no fair if you fall back on your boxing training! Ibuki can't hit you like that! Just let the pillows hit where they go! They're fluffy, they don't hurt, don't worry!

[She'll attempt a counter attack]

Sorry, sorry...it's pretty much habit.

[He laughed and forced his body to stay still as the pillow landed against his face. As promised, it didn't hurt at all and he returned with a gentle blow aimed for Ibuki's shoulder; it seemed a simple exchange, but...it was actually kind of fun, now that he was thinking about it.]

[When had been the last time he'd just done something simple like this? He thought about that as the two traded soft pillow blows, and it occurred to him that since he'd gotten here...he'd never really taken the time to slow down unless he'd been sick or otherwise injured. Sure there were the celebrations but...those had only been a few days at most, and then he'd gone right back to full steam.

And now here he was, in his room lightly bopping a friend with a pillow and laughing in earnest. He felt warm and full of good cheer...a definite upswing from where he'd been recently. He might have been thinking a little too hard as a particularly well aimed shot struck him in the side of the head, not hard but enough to throw him a little off balance. He grabbed a hold of Ibuki's pillow out of reflex, but he was going down regardless.]

Huh? Huh? UWAH!

[And like something out of a bad comedy romance, Ibuki doesn't think of releasing her pillow in time before she ends up on top of Ippo]

... O... oooh... it's like something out of a bad comedy romance movie.

[Ibuki's mind to mouth filter, did she even have one?]

[He made sure to put himself between Ibuki and the floor when they went down, and the pillow managed to come between them making Ibuki's landing even softer despite Ippo just landing on his backside. Still though, he looked concerned as he gave Ibuki a quick once over to make sure nothing was injured.]

Are you alright? You didn't land on your knees did you?

[Leave it to Ippo to be so concerned about someone that he'd miss a completely embarrassing statement like that.]

No, no, Ibuki only landed on Ippo-chan! So soft! The best cushion.

... and a pillow, too.

[It's probably more the pillow that was soft than Ippo]

Good, sorry about that. You got me really good though!

[With everything confirmed to be alright, he actually started to laugh a little. It felt good to really unwind and it had been so long since he'd actually been made to laugh that it all just seemed to be coming out now that it'd been let loose. Hopefully Ibuki wouldn't think him crazy, but he was having a bit too much fun to really care about that right now.]

[Ibuki just... kind of laughs in reply. Ippo, what kind of thought is that, thinking Ibuki might call him crazy? As if Ibuki really had any room to judge people. Not that she really ever judged people, anyway...]

Ibuki's the championship belt holder of Pillow Fight, so this was the expected conclusion... just kidding!

You could have fooled me, you've got some real skill with that thing!

[His laughing died down a bit, but there were still some chuckles behind his words and the smile on his face was all but ear to ear.]

Maybe we should actually get you a real belt, I'm sure you could defend it!

Oooh! But, but Ibuki's whims are many, she could lose the belt in an instant! If a truly dedicated master of the pillow fight arts showed up, Ibuki wouldn't stand a chance! Everybody would be disappointed by the fight!

Hey, having many whims makes you wholly unpredictable! Even masters at their crafts can be thrown off balance if you start fighting outside the box!

[Take it from him Ibuki, he's practically the king of snatching up victories by doing unexpected things.]

Hmmmmmm... an in interesting proposal, Ippo-chan...

Ibuki can fight outside the box... by fighting inside a box!! Nobody would expect it!

[He actually stopped for a second. His face froze in a state of absolute contemplation as his mind struggled to fit around the concept, to actually make sense of what she'd just said. Naturally, he only had one thing to say once his brain had booted itself back up.]

Isn't it? Isn't it! They'll be so surprised, Ibuki will knock them out in one blow!

With a pillow!

Somehow! It'll totally be the best thing ever!!!

I know I wouldn't stand a chance, I'd be totally off guard!

[To be fair, someone walking into an arena in a giant box would probably be enough to throw even the most serious fighter off, even if for only a second. It only took one misstep to get knocked out after all, it was something he knew all too well.]

Nobody expects the box! It's the scariest box of all!

[So the question is, why haven't Ibuki and Ippo gotten up yet?]

[Probably because they're so engrossed in their conversation that they've both just kind of forgotten.]

...I'll admit, I've never really been fond of Jack-in-the-boxes.

[It was like they were invented for the sole purpose of scaring small children.]

Ibuki's not Jack! Ibuki is Ibuki!

No! No...I mean...if I had to pick a scariest box that would probably be it. They're like...a kind of wind-up toy, you turn the crank on the box and it plays a song until a clown on a spring leaps out. I guess it was fun when my mom was growing up but...it just freaked me out.

[Ah the joys of childhood trauma.]

Mmm... Ibuki mostly played with instruments when she was young, but oooh... Ibuki might be scary sometimes, right? Look at her horns, look at them! Like demon horns! But Ibuki's not scary, she's fluffy!

I don't know about that, you've never really struck me as scary. If anything I think people might be more impressed by your hair than scared by it.

[He does wholeheartedly agree with the fluffy assessment though.]

It is impressive, isn't it? Isn't it?

It took Ibuki so long to decide on a hairstyle! She put so much thought into it! But now look at Ibuki, she can do up her hair in five minutes! It's amazing!

[She pokes at Ippo's face a bit with one of her horns, making sure to aim mostly for the side of his face]

Really? Five minutes for all that?

[Says the person who's idea of hair styling was to pull it back and tie it with a hairband in the morning. Still though, all that styling in five minutes was impressive no matter how you looked at it. Except now he had hair horn in his face so he wasn't seeing anything else really.]
