Day 253 | Open | Also open for Business
Who: Calem and You! Whether you like it or not...
Open: Open
When: Day 253
Where: At Bastion's brand new Salon
What: Calem bought a Salon. He wants customers. Get in here. You're a mess.
Format: I'll follow whatever format you use
Warnings: None yet!
Something had been bugging Calem about the people who lived in Bastion. It had been bothering him pretty much since he arrived at the place. People in general... well they looked like a mess. Understandable given the nature of the place and honestly he couldn't fault them THAT much. Clearly someone had to step up and grab this Tauros by the horns. And that someone was him.
He had SOME experience dealing with people hair. Much more experience grooming his pokemon, but hey, his Furfrou's coat grew out every few days. He had plenty of time to experiment on her.
After some requests at the monument were filled there was a brand new establishment in Bastion. It small building with white walls and a black roof, the front of which, including the door was entirely glass with the words 'Salon de Bastion~' painted on it in an elegant script. The interior had a lot of warm yellows and reds, and his Lucario was busy neatening up a shelf that displayed a variety of hair care products. There was also an incredibly fancy looking dog lounging on a rug by the small waiting area. Which you would of course know if you came in and investigated for yourself. You know, if one thought they could use a trim or perhaps wanted to redye their hair a color it was before the end of the universe. These people were greeted with a smile and offered a seat.
However... the greatest offenders most likely would not step in side a place like this of their own free will if their life depended on it. So after a bit he found himself wandering out, leaving the two pokemon to watch over things, and steeled himself to find the problem customers. Anyone who looked like they needed attention in particular... he gently grabbed them by the arm, said, "I insist you accompany me!" before swiftly attempting to herd them back to his little shop.

So it had just been left to grow out and... let's just say genetics were kind to Rin in some ways, and in other ways, not.
But she has no idea this is why she's suddenly being grabbed and dragged off with noisy protesting considering she was in the middle of cleaning up in the kitchen.
"What the hell-- Calem! Leggo!"
no subject
"Rin," he paused for but a moment and spun aroun to look her in the eye, a serious expression on his face, "This is a very important matter. I can not tell you why yet, " because you'll run away, "But you must come with me. Do you trust me?"
Please Rin. Please. You need this so much.

Now, this is the right idea.
[Calem can certainly tell that she... used to dye her hair. Unfortunately it's been several months and there are close to three inches of brown roots showing.]

Thank you! To be honest I was slightly horrified to find there was no place like this already here.
[ Perhaps it was destiny that the task fell to him. ]
Now please, Mademoiselle, how may I help you?

When Calem grabs Crona's arm, the teen flinches away, startled.
"Me? Wh-why? I didn't do anything wrong!"
no subject
"Do not worry my avant garde friend! Of course you've done nothing wrong, you are as fabulous as ever," he said with only the upmost sincerity, because as always he was someone enthralled by just how BAD Crona's personal aesthetic was it had pretty much gone full circle into the 'probably good' section once again, "However even masterpieces need retouching every once in a while. Please allow me to rid you of your tangles and restore your signature look."

Duke just sort of awkwardly stops outside the glass door because... No idea. What's with this?

"No need to be shy!" he made a broad sweeping gesture inside and take a step back, "Please come in, make yourself at home."

Not that Zuko takes poor care of her hair. She's not acquainted with modern shampoo and trims it with a dagger, but she brushes it and puts it up neatly, so by that token she has a lot of the Bastion beat.]
no subject
Zuko! Nice to see you again. What do you think?
[ He waves in a broad gesture. Zuko always looked classy in his opinion and Calem was certain that she was probably at least somewhat fashionable back wherever she was from. Surely her opinion would be valuable. ]
I've made it my mission to make Bastion slightly less unkempt looking!

Anna hasn't been to a hair salon in.... a very long time. Whenever she needed trims, Tatara would pull out scissors and use one of Izumo's bar stools.
But the red.
Anna spins the red chair. Don't mind a random 11 year old in your new shop.

"You look like you're having fun," he laughed a little, "Would you like me to do your hair up in Kalos braids?"
Which were basically French braids. Because, you know, no France in Pokemon-land.

Takamura had been doing what he does the most of. Run. So he was in his usual sweat suit and running shoes, his own hair in his trademark pompadour style as he was set upon by the kid from before who'd been riding that bush animal thing. After being dragged all the way to the front of the salon, he sets his foot down and lifts his arm, bringing Calem off his feet if he continues to hold on.
"What's this all about?"
no subject
"I didn't mention anything about it before because I assumed you were already overwhelmed enough but..." he sighed heavily, "I am sorry to inform you that your pompadour is hideously out of style and I'd like to give you a more modern and updated look."

As she passes by the new building on a jog, she presses her face up against the window to peer in, fascinated, before deciding to poke her head through the door.]
Ooohh... Did you get this new place, Calem? [She's gazing at everything with intense fascination. It's just a salon, Aoi; settle down.]
no subject
Ah yes! There are not many places around here that cater towards relaxation so I thought it'd be very beneficial. Plus there are quite a few people who need some assistance in these matters and there was only so much I could before hand.
[ Besides, chasing someone around Bastion with a bottle of conditioner and a bottle of detangler would have only made him look like a madman. ]

"... Shampoo?", she asked, looking at one of the strange plastic bottles with curiosity.
no subject
"Yes, I've got a few different varieties around," he nodded, still feeling a touch dazed by the question, "Is there a specific type you were looking for?"

Honestly, he's confused enough about the whole situation that he doesn't struggle against being taken to the new building. What even is this place anyhow? Why does it smell so... He's not even sure how to describe the smell. Some strange combination of perfume and soap. Why does everything in here look strange?
...Boy, where have you brought him?]
no subject
And yay! It's always best when they don't fight him. It makes things so much easier.
He spins one of the chairs around to face his
victimclient and pats the seat. ]If you wouldn't mind just sitting down here.

"U-uh... I guess? What's the problem, exactly?" He still looks confused as he stares at Calem, not quite comprehending the reason for the sudden intrusion on his training. Of course, he doesn't really stop to think it might be because of his hair, which... hasn't grown out all that much, but enough that one could easily mistake his hair for a bird's nest...
no subject
"If you allow your hair to continue in this direction it may reach critical levels before long! A red alert!" he was quite possibly being a little too dramatic as he pulled his 'customer' along... but sometimes you just had to scare some sense into people before it was too late.

... honestly, Calem, you probably should just drag her in. Although really, it's probably clothing she needs help with.

"Mademoiselle! Please don't be shy," he called, "Come on in!"

It would be a lie if he said he wasn't just a little bit miffed. This was his and Hikaru's wheelhouse, after all - never mind Kyouya's creative financial string-pulling, it was their creative vision and designers eyes that helped keep the host club afloat. To think that someone else had got to it first…
The door inches open, and Kaoru peeks around it with the air of one trying to sneak inside unnoticed.]
no subject
The building is of course not empty though. Furfrou lazily looks up from her spot on the floor to give the peeper a mildly curious look before presumably laying back down to nap again. Lucario is there neatening up this and that. Unlike the other canine he keeps a careful eye on Kaoru. Can't have anyone messing things up while the trainer is away. ]

As for his response to Calem grabbing him...
"Hey!"
Despite being pulled off-balance, he does his best to dig his feet in and try and pull away. He's not as strong as he looks, but he's not a complete weakling.
[Fair warning that he's going to be much more hostile to this than Rin.]
no subject
So when he puts up a show of resistance, Calem freezes as well and then turns around to stare him strait in the eye.
"Unless your truest wish is to become bald within the year you should come with me."
(no subject)
no subject
As soon as they are close enough for Bon to see what the building is, though, he tries to stop them. "Hell no," he says, trying to pull his arm away from Calem, "The last time someone messed with my hair I ended up with a bald spot!"
no subject
"How dare you accuse me of being capable of committing such a crime! Especially when you are the one who looks like his hair was cut by a weed whacker or chewed upon by an angry Carnivine," he opened the door to the salon and pointed inside, "Now enter so I may repair the damage you have allowed upon yourself."
(no subject)

Of course, keeping that neat look has been a little harder since the world ended. He's done some minor trimming on his own, but he doesn't have eyes in the back of his head and hell if he's letting Rin near his hair with anything sharp. So sudden salon? Appealing. Also strange, but what wasn't on the Bastion? Medic incoming!
Yuki's actually in fairly decent shape compared to many residents, but his hair's gotten shaggy enough that he finds himself constantly having to brush it out of his eyes.]
Hello.
