Day 244 - I built the wall, but now it's fallen
Who: Raile and Anyone out on the Skyway
Open: Open
When: 244
Where: The Skyway
What: After a long talk with Zulf, Raile needs some time to chew things over. Hijinks ensue.
Format: Will match.
Warnings: Most likely language, some violence if anything at all.
[A dangerous thought had entered Raile's head after he'd verbally gone toe-to-toe with Zulf, a prospect was buzzing around his skull just nagging enough that he had to take a trip out onto the Skyway just to put the pieces together. It was something he couldn't consider...or more realistically, it was something he didn't want to consider at all. Maybe, just maybe--he was free of guilt when it came to all of this destruction.
Maybe the second calamity wasn't his fault.
The thought dropped like a stone in his stomach as he worked on a rock he'd found, his Caelondian Hammer easily smashing the large boulder to pieces. Whetrock wasn't easy to come by, and it was good stuff for keeping things nice and pointy; suffice it to say, after finding a large chunk of it embedded in the ground, there wasn't any way he could just leave it behind. Also, smashing it into little pieces gave him enough of a mindless task that he could focus his entire mind on the problem he was having; it gave him a measure of peace that allowed him to see things with a little more clarity, however that might come across to someone else wasn't really on the top of his "To think about" list.]
"Damned Zulf...gettin in my head like that..."
[He muttered under his breath as he continued his labor. The Ura did have a way with his words that could bring his entire world into question with the right sentence. With Raile so distracted, it wouldn't be hard for someone to sneak up on him at this point...or something, but the Pantheon help any Skyway denizen that might want to pick a fight with him, he'd already shown them what-for once and if provoked, he'd be happy to show it again.
Approach at your own risk.]

Today he was only out with two of them - Woobat, hovering ahead of him to keep an eye out, and Zoroark at his side with his ears trained to the noises of the Skyway.
And of course it was the noises of Kid working that got his attention.
Some one is pounding rocks over there.]
Enemy?
[No. It doesn't sound like a Windbag...
N pulled a frown at that, but decided to quietly make his way in that direction to see what was going on. If it was a survivor they might need directions, or help. One of the two.]

... he can't help but grin a bit at that. having Kohaku by his side here did wonders to help him maintain some degree of optimism in this place.
Normally he wouldn't head out to the Skyway on his own - he didn't want to worry Kohaku by being too reckless - but the noises of the Kid working as well as seeing the flash of green from N's hair in the distance was enough to pique his curiosity.
So now he's going to find himself heading out onto the Skyway itself, following the green dot of N's hair and calling out, keeping Asteria at the ready in case the blot in front of him was a hostile monster of some kind... ]
Hello...?!
[ Spoilers: it's not. ]

Pantheon above...y'two almost gave me a right heart attack!
no subject
N, on the other hand, seemed rather... placid through the entire thing.]
What are you doing out here?
no subject
Sorry about that...? But he's right. This isn't exactly the safest place to be...
[ He says as he jerks a thumb at N. ]

[He said simply, noting the sword in Shing's hand as he bent down and picked up a piece of stone on the ground, tossing it to the swordsman with a deft throw.]
Was jus' gatherin' some Whetrock, strong and durable enough t'sharpen Knifebark inta deadly weapons, 's what Brusher's used t'keep their Pikes on t'pointer end o'things.
[In less words, it was useful.]

[N had heard, mostly from Hilda, that Rin and her ilk were some of the strongest in the Bastion and yet Night had fallen not that long ago. Rin herself had nearly lost an arm in the same incident.
Still, it wasn't concern that had N stating such things. He was merely going off of what he had learned in his time here.
There was a shrug from the bushy-haired teen following that.]
You know yourself better than I do.
no subject
Yeah.. not saying we're doubting your strength, just... kinda worried you're out here by yourself.
no subject
[He could understand why people would be worried, the Skyway was a dangerous place, but he had more than just strength. He had knowledge gained from years of hard work and exploration working for the Marshals, it had been enough to see him through the first time.]
Begs t'question though, what brought you two out here? Jus' out for a walk?
no subject
[Sorry, Kid. He's not trying to make you feel stupid - N is just too smart for his own good.
The question did get a bit of a knit to his eyebrows, though, followed by a wary sigh.]
Ever since the pieces of our own worlds started showing up on the Skyway, I've made it a point to come out every so often to make sure that there are no abandoned Pokemon eggs out here.

[ Shing shrugs unhelpfully at the Kid's reply, sighing and frowning a little. ]
I was just going to walk around Bastion for a bit, then I heard noise and saw this guy's neon light hair in the distance, so I got curious enough to see what was going on...
[ Shing, I doubt N would appreciate his hair being called a neon light... ]
no subject
Ain't gonna lie, that hair does stick out like a sore thumb; but if yer headed out t'look for anythin', I might as well tag along.
[He didn't fancy anyone but him wandering off alone for one, and it seemed like a good reason to be out here anyways.]
no subject
And a girlfriend with hot ass.N got his own scowl in, fingers tugging at a bit of his hair now that its been mentioned. Really? He's always had this hair, what's wrong with it?!
Your hair is fine, N.]
They don't seem to think so.
[Wait who is he talking to? There's just a one-eyed fuzzy bat and a black and red fox with him.]
no subject
[ Shing frowns, looking at N; was he talking to him, or... what? ]
If it's about the hair, I'm not saying it's bad! It's just... really bright.
[ Seriously, you could probably stick some lights in there and be a lighthouse with that and your height, man... ]
no subject
Whereabouts d'y'think these eggs would be?
no subject
[N pointed at Zoroark who nodded enthusiastically. Yup, this guy can talk to random animals. That's a thing.]
I don't know for sure anymore. The last ones found were at the locations from our home - a Pokemon daycare and the ruins of a castle, to be exact.
no subject
[ Shing looks in confusion at the Zoroark; it can talk? Was it one of those things that could talk with its mind? He'd have to ask later, when there was less that needed to be done.
As it stands, he frowns, pausing for a moment to close his eyes in thought. ]
Maybe it's possible that some new eggs showed up in those places since we last checked them?
no subject
[He said, gesturing to N. He didn't comment on the talking to Pokemon things...it wasn't like Zia didn't coo at the baby creatures he brought back to the Bastion, he assumed it wasn't much different than that.]
no subject
... maybe. I wouldn't count on it, but it is worth a look. The Daycare would be the safest place to start.
