day 228 :: [closed]
Who: AZ, Hilda.
Open: Closed
When: Day 228
Where: Pokemon Daycare. Specifically, the kitchen.
What: Daddy/Daughter cuteness while making dinner for the household.
Format: Brackets
Warnings: family cuteness. uwu
[ Hilda made the meals for the house pretty regularly, and oftentimes she had help with that. Usually Lillil was in the kitchen helping her like the team mom she was, but this evening, she and AZ were in the kitchen together and putting together some dinner for the rest of the household. It wasn't difficult to do alone, though there was quite a bit to prepare with four humans in the house, and then they had to account for picky eaters (like N) and maybe making a little extra in case one of the Pokemon decided they wanted to come try to steal some human food from the table.
It was enjoyable, being able to cook for everyone. She hadn't considered herself all that good at it, since she was just following what her Mom taught her when she was younger, but as she cooked more regularly she found she really was improving.
It was even more enjoyable being able to cook alongside someone she really cared about, for the people she really cared about. ]
Hey, Dad, could you get the big pot for me? It should be in that cabinet near the fridge.
[ She'd gotten used to calling AZ 'Dad.' It seemed like almost second nature at this point. Tonight was soup for dinner, and she was still gathering the ingredients to start it off. ]

[AZ didn't cook often, but he wasn't half bad at it. He also had the advantage of being able to pick up things easily that might be harder for the others. Such as the pot, for example, which he pulled out with ease. He placed it on the counter gently and then wrapped Hilda up in a gentle hug from behind.]
[Physical affection was something he was trying to get better about. She was important to him and he wanted to show it.]
No meat tonight, right?
no subject
Well, we could put meat in, but N would just end up picking the meat out anyway.
[ She understood why her boyfriend didn't eat meat, but she couldn't exactly share the same sentiment about it. She liked meat a bit too much. ]
Do you think it'd be okay with Calem if we left the meat out? We could find some other use for it later in the week, I'm sure.
no subject
[Hopefully. It's not like he's really spent a lot of time around him. He feels sort of awkward about it. It's even more awkward knowing he's not the same Calem.]
no subject
[ She moved the pot over to the stove and started putting in water and stock. ]

Kalos has always been obsessed with beauty, though.
no subject
[ She looked up at him curiously for a moment, then moved over to the vegetables. She got a knife and then carefully held another one out for AZ, so he could help with chopping up veggies. ]
What kind of beauty? I'd only really started traveling to other regions before I got pulled into Vatheon, so I hadn't been to Kalos just yet.
no subject
All kinds of beauty. There's not the Pokemon Contests like in other regions, but it's common to get your Pokemon groomed in specific styles, like humans get haircuts. There's all sorts of fashion shows, and flowers bloom almost everywhere. Then there's the art galleries, and the trainer PR videos... everyone seems to want their fifteen minutes of fame.
I'm partial to the gardening competitions myself. I worked on a berry farm for a while, and grew some other flowers on the side. Sometimes I worked as a gardener to raise funds before I could move on to somewhere else. Travel between regions isn't cheap if you don't have a Pokemon capable of making the trip for you. And I never really trained water-type Pokemon... so my travel options were limited.

[ She focused on chopping her veggies for a moment. ]
I would have really liked to have seen Kalos one day ... all the regions, really. I only got to see a little bit of Sinnoh before Vatheon happened.

I do hope more Pokemon have survived, though, and they're just waiting out there for us to find them. I hope we can find them before something happens to them.
That's kind of part of the reason I used to go out onto the Skyway so much ...
no subject
[He filled the pot up with water and set it on the stove so they could start putting in the vegetables, at least.]
... I know. I... might have overreacted a little. I just don't like seeing people I care about get hurt. For a long time, that wasn't very many people, just my Pokemon.
no subject
I'm really sorry to have put you guys through that ...
[ She finishes up one set of veggies and dumps them into the pot before starting on another. ]
no subject
[Hm. Something to talk to Colin about. He goes back to cutting veggies.]
no subject
[
but it's way more fun if we just leave everyone to wander the skyway without any form of communication at allShe finishes her veggie set and dumps it into the pot, then goes to look for seasonings. ]
I wonder if we have any bread to go with this ...
no subject
... I think so. Unless someone's taken it. Eevee's been trying to eat everything she can get her paws on lately. Maybe I should ask N to talk to her.
[Including his jacket. He's not sure if she's bored or what.]
no subject
[ She looked to AZ and grinned. ]
Emboar's still the worst at that. He's been stealing my food since he was a Tepig. He's not nearly as successful now that he's bigger but I still let him win sometimes.
[ She continued to look for the seasonings and the bread. ]
no subject
[He pokes through the cabinets, too, and pulls out the loaf of bread.]
I forgot I put it here. I remember now - I wanted to put it somewhere that you needed thumbs to get into.
no subject
[ She found the seasonings and began putting some into the soup. Yay. ]
So just how old is your team sans Eevee? I think it's pretty impressive, that they've lived for such a long time.
no subject
I've had many teams over the years, but this is the longest I've stuck with one. I had an Arcanine for a while near the beginning. He was from a line imported from Kanto, and kept as royal pets and guard dogs. He scared me a lot when I was younger, but I took him with me for protection after I abdicated.
[He frowns slightly.]
I've always found fire types a little harder to get along with... but maybe it's because I like plants so much.
no subject
You and Floette seem to have a really close bond ... ah, but ... Floette is a fairy type, right?
[ She's still getting used to fairy types. She'd never seen one until coming here. ]
no subject
Yes, she is. But I trained some grass types when I was younger, too. There were a lot of Gogoats in the village nearby, and my mother was a grass type trainer, mostly. Fairy types are still rare, so it wasn't often you found one, but Floette tend to appear near well-tended flowers. She was one of the best with plants for a long way around, so it's only natural she showed up.
[... Even now, he still misses her. But he's proud of her, too.]
She had a Meganium that I used to use as a slide when I was very little. Floette was the first Pokemon I had that was just mine, though.
no subject
[ She smiled. ]
You miss your Mom?
[ She sure missed hers. ]
no subject
no subject
[ She puts the lid on the pot and then leans against the counter to look at him. ]
I miss my Mom, too. But I'm glad that even at the end of the world, I still have a family.
no subject
[He puts a hand on her back since it can't quite fit on her shoulder and smiles down at her.]
