[Someone has been busy today. The kitchen and Distillery has been noisy and bustling, a departure from the much more quiet days when the illness was spreading through the Bastion and survival was once more on the uncertain scale of things. Somewhere around the time that the night cycle begins, when the sky is more of an orange-ish glow fading in to blue and purple, a large spread of food has been set up near the Distillery with glass lanterns hanging overhead.

Just like any other time there has been a feast be it random or planned, there is a wide selection of food on the covered, decorated tables. There's even meat this time! And yes, Aoi, your doughnuts have been transferred from your trees to a platter on the table. There's even a section for Paar, complete with massive amounts of bbq'd mammoth meat! You can thank Colin for that.

There's really no announcement for the feast, but chances are if you're outside at any point today you'll see the progress towards the set up, or smell the delicious scents wafting over the Bastion. (There might even be music playing, if Colin finds a way to provide it!)

Either way, come dusk food will be ready and mingling will be had!]

The dhampire does seem pleased that his gift was accepted though, even if his expression barely changed.]

[Kaoru is grateful for the lack of dead animals. Truly he is. His sketchbook is closed and set aside - no way is he going to risk getting grease all over it - and he tries a bite of the meat]

…it's good! [and he's not just saying that. He still doesn't care to know exactly what it was, but at least it tastes nice!]

Did you… eat already? [for all that they are housemates, he's still not entirely sure of Alucard's feeding habits. Or whether asking the question would be in some way indelicate.]

[This meat is why Alucard agreed to pay for half of the cost to make the mammoth herd. In fact, he's already had more of it and everything else than Kaoru probably wants to know. Now he's not in the least bit offended by the question, but... Well, nobody really wants to hear about the eating habits of someone who's probably eaten one of just about every creature on the Skyway.]

Overdone is more the word… [grumbled as he takes another mouthful of meat. Not that he's ungrateful for Rin's work he just… wishes she's either held herself back a bit, or just delegated more.] When I found her she was sat at a table dead to the world - didn't even notice me sneaking up on her.

[Nooooot going to comment on the bit about humans being puny. You lot are comparatively kinda squishy, but can be downright terrifying if determined enough.]

Kind of interesting to know. Uh - not that I plan to, y'know, do anything, that would be pretty awful. But it's still kind of interesting, I guess...

[It's mostly mushrooms. They tend to look and smell very similar, and the poisonous ones don't tend to do much more than make him very uncomfortable for a while. Don't judge. :T

...Though if his housemate is really going through with the challenge, he might as well make it a bit more fair.]

...Perhaps if you try when I first awaken and am less aware of my surroundings...

[things between he and Taisan haven't exact been good since Hikaru's arrival, when Kaoru blew up at him. Since then it's been kind of... Strained civility between them, if Taisan actually stays around Kaoru at all.

In any case, Kaoru kind of expects him to get underfoot just because he can.]
