[Someone has been busy today. The kitchen and Distillery has been noisy and bustling, a departure from the much more quiet days when the illness was spreading through the Bastion and survival was once more on the uncertain scale of things. Somewhere around the time that the night cycle begins, when the sky is more of an orange-ish glow fading in to blue and purple, a large spread of food has been set up near the Distillery with glass lanterns hanging overhead.

Just like any other time there has been a feast be it random or planned, there is a wide selection of food on the covered, decorated tables. There's even meat this time! And yes, Aoi, your doughnuts have been transferred from your trees to a platter on the table. There's even a section for Paar, complete with massive amounts of bbq'd mammoth meat! You can thank Colin for that.

There's really no announcement for the feast, but chances are if you're outside at any point today you'll see the progress towards the set up, or smell the delicious scents wafting over the Bastion. (There might even be music playing, if Colin finds a way to provide it!)

Either way, come dusk food will be ready and mingling will be had!]

There are various explanations, but basically Obaa-chan ate this thing, probably a peach that made her super young and beautiful, right? And Ojii-chan comes back home from work and he's like, "whoa, who is this super hot babe hanging out in my house" and she's like, "Honey, it's me! Try this!" and he gets young and handsome and they get it on and make a baby.

Either that or they ate a super rancid peach and had a really bad trip. And if it was the first one, I dunno if they aged back after the baby was born, or before...

... I... seriously don't know which is worse--... is this the kinda shit I was missin' in class when I was just spacin' out? Like, seriously, why didn't I ever know this?! ... Yuki shoulda told me!

He was really beaten up about the whole thing. It was rough.

... I kinda... yelled at him. Before we both got sick.

...you know he doesn't take kindly to being yelled at.

[pulling up a smile, trying to make light-] Did he flounce? I bet he flounced...

Yeah. I know. [puffing her cheeks out in annoyance] But he was just bein' so stupid!

[That gets her to sputter in to a laugh, though.]

He tried! And then I pulled the "you know I'm right" card on him which made him get all over my case so I left him standin' in the hallway instead.

[And slammed the door, but that's kind of a given. Teenagers and all that.]

[shakes his head slightly]

...the two of you, I swear to god. Why do they people I love always end up fighting with each other? If it's not you, it's Hikaru. Sometimes it's even you and Hikaru.

Hikaru was the problem this time.

[headtilt] ...but he wasn't there.

Well apparently your clingy jealous twin doesn't have to be there to cause problems for Seimei-san!

[opens his mouth to speak, but breathes a sigh instead, hanging his head]

This is... a little harder than I thought it would be.

. . . please don't tell me he still broke up with you after everythin' I said to him.

[just... kind of stunned for a moment]

What? No! Of course he didn't.

He was still in a state, blaming himself over it but... I managed to talk him around. [...mostly]

Oh thank God... I seriously thought I was gonna have to beat some sense in to him.

[Rin even lets out a breath of relief at hearing that.]

He was goin' on and on about how he'd made some promise to never hurt you but because Hikaru apparently "hates him" that was breakin' his promise and all this crap about honor and whatever...

I mean I get it, breakin' promises is never a good thing but Jesus Christ, Hikaru's butthurt over you actually findin' some one you love while he wasn't here ain't a damn reason to break up with you!

Nah, that's my job. Less with the beating, more with the talking. [shakes his head briefly. Stupid, he doesn't need to think about it. He knows himself well enough to know how much it would destroy him if Seimei ever rejected him. He knows Seimei too, though. He would only do that out of some stupid sense of sacrifice. Not that that would make it hurt any less...] I'm not sure I have him completely convinced - I think he's still carrying a lot of guilt about the whole thing that he doesn't need to carry, you know?

That, and it's been really hard to find our balance again, things have been, just… off for so long. Hikaru and I, we're twins, we'll be all right. But Seimei just doesn't get that.

And Hikaru… you realise that I've known most people here longer than he has? That was never a thing back home. He's not used to being on a different page to me. On top of that, it's rare that Hikaru actually likes people off the bat… it takes time. I wish he could warm up to Seimei faster, but it's just not in his character.

Of course, it doesn't help that you can't put the people I like together in a room without there being fireworks.
