[Day 212] Well it woulda been coulda been worse than you would ever know... [OPEN]
Who: Everyone!
Open: Open
When: Day 212, evening
Where: in front of the Distillery
What: No one died during the horrible plague scare! That's reason enough for a feastand a mingle log right?
Format: Any!
Warnings: Shouldn't be any but will adjust if needed

[Someone has been busy today. The kitchen and Distillery has been noisy and bustling, a departure from the much more quiet days when the illness was spreading through the Bastion and survival was once more on the uncertain scale of things. Somewhere around the time that the night cycle begins, when the sky is more of an orange-ish glow fading in to blue and purple, a large spread of food has been set up near the Distillery with glass lanterns hanging overhead.
Just like any other time there has been a feast be it random or planned, there is a wide selection of food on the covered, decorated tables. There's even meat this time! And yes, Aoi, your doughnuts have been transferred from your trees to a platter on the table. There's even a section for Paar, complete with massive amounts of bbq'd mammoth meat! You can thank Colin for that.
There's really no announcement for the feast, but chances are if you're outside at any point today you'll see the progress towards the set up, or smell the delicious scents wafting over the Bastion. (There might even be music playing, if Colin finds a way to provide it!)
Either way, come dusk food will be ready and mingling will be had!]
(ooc: Standard mingle log right here. Throw your threads up, poke other people's threads, and eat all the food!)

[This is a new face to her, but this had been for everyone. If it brings newbies out of the wood work then it's a bigger success than originally planned.
Still, the way this guy is searching the table rather than grabbing food has Rin cautiously curious, tail swaying lazily beneath her skirt as she approaches.]

[Yeah because having wine is more important than food.]

You'd have to talk to Georges, he runs the Distillery. Dunno if he's got any wine that ain't used for cookin', though. Cael alcohol is pretty different than what most people are used to.
no subject
There isn't an alcohol I can't handle, darling. So lay it on me and perhaps we could get to know one another better in the process.
no subject
And she's really not much of a woman yet, all things considered.]
If you wanna take up the crazy crap Georges has made, be my guest. I'll pass.
no subject
Point me in the direction of it.
no subject
It's the other side of the kitchen. I'm tellin' you, though, people who ain't used to Cael alcohol ain't gonna be able to handle it.
no subject
You don't need to warn me, I can handle any alcohol I consume. It'll be easy to drink down.
no subject
Alright, alright, your funeral buddy. Y'might wanna take some food with you, just in case.
no subject
If you insist then give me a recommendation. Most of these meals look like you threw them together in a pot, are inedible, or animal feed.
no subject
I made the food, you ass. Y'do realize we're at the end of the fuckin' world here, right? This is the best we've got!
no subject
End of the world? What nonsense. This is simply another world I've been brought to by some strange magic. I'll get back when I've found the source or some other magical artifact that can get me out of this place. I'm not stuck here forever.
no subject
Is that what you really think... ?
no subject
Uh yes? What's with that face?
no subject
That's not what happened. This world wasn't always like this - it was destroyed by a weapon. A weapon that hit a lotta other worlds and destroyed them, too.
no subject
Isn't that a little extreme?
no subject
Well yeah. But that's what happened. Trust me, I got a front row seat to findin' out just what caused all this shit.
[And she's still pissed at Nathaniel for it.]
There's other people that understand it better than I do, but if you ask around you're gonna get the same story from everyone. A lotta us found... pieces of our home worlds out there on the Skyway recently, too. Broken leftovers with a whole lotta dead people...

[To the rest of that, she doesn't bother pointing out that everyone here was some one he "hardly" knew, even though they would all have the same or similar stories.
Especially the Ura and the Cael.
But he'll learn in time, is what she figures.
Further conversation finds an interruption when a series of loud noises erupts near by, and something large and round with big muscular red arms goes rushing past between the two of them in the air, followed by a strange looking pig-like creature. It's attempt to give chase to the other creature ends when he slams head first in to Angelo's leg.]
Tepig!
[Rin is on him in a second, snatching the pig creature up in her arms before he can get back to his feet.]
Tepig, that was rude! Leave the Hobgoblin alone!
Piiig...
[A sigh, and she gives Angelo a surprisingly apologetic look. As crass as she could be she wasn't about to let that go.]
I'm really sorry, he's too hyper for his own good sometimes...
