Day 203 | The sick are recovering! (Open)
WHO: Colin, any recovering folks, any visitors.
OPEN: Open like a door
WHEN: Day 203 (BACKDATED)
WHAT: The cure has been found and administered. Check up on the sick, why don't you?
WHERE: The hospital
FORMAT: However you want, go nuts
WARNINGS: Recovering people, probable sass, and of course, Colin.
After six days of paranoia, and three days of absolute terror, things were finally looking up. A cure had been delivered, and with it, the calamity survivors had been able to synthesize more than enough doses of cure for the plague to safeguard the Bastion. It had been administered to the sick, and now all that was needed was to make sure that everyone recovered.
Colin, of course, was going to be visiting everyone to make sure that there weren't any complications. It wouldn't do to have anyone in danger after they'd made it through to the end. He had yet to take off his environmental suit though, his own paranoia was significant.
(OOC: I figure this will be a good opportunity for people to do a little more mingling, and get their bearings after the plague. The quarantine has been lifted, though Colin still wants people washing their hands frequently. If you want Colin to check up on the sick, he can do that! If you want someone else to check up on the sick, by all means! The threat is passed, now rejoice, hug your sick loved ones, and let's move on!)

I know, but I still have to check on my sister and mammph-
[He cuts off when Oshawott, having used his trainers pants to climb into his lap, presses a stubby paw to his lips before turning to give Colin a resolute nod. He'll sit on his trainer if he has to. Never mind that Yukio could easily move him. His determination will prevail!]
no subject
Good job, kid. You got this.
[Colin sits down beside Yukio, and he smiles.]
You've done more than anyone could ask of you. You don't need to prove yourself to me, Yukio. You did that on the first day.
Act your age once in a while, huh? You're only young once. You're very impressive, and everyone here will know it sooner or later, but if you let your youth slip by you even more, you're going to hate yourself for it and never know why.

Yukio frowns down at his Pokemon, but he doesn't chastise him. Why would he? He knows there are only good intentions here, but...]
I'm not trying to impress anyone. [Looking a little awkward about that.]
no subject
[Colin gives him a grin.]
You're not even twenty yet, and you're outperforming most adults. That drive is always impressive, but it rarely comes from purely altruistic goals.
I'm not criticizing you, mind you. But I don't believe there's not some ulterior motive guiding you, for whatever reason. You...
[He pats Yukio's shoulder then.]
Have grown up WAY too fast. And I say that having only known you for a couple of weeks.
no subject
Sometimes there isn't any other choice but to grow up.
[Not if you didn't want to spend your childhood tormented by demons. Not if you wanted to protect you brother from the very organization you worked your ass off to gain a position in.
One of the Okumura siblings had to grow up, and Yukio managed it too well.]

[He gives Yukio a smile from behind the helmet.]
This world, the way things have gone? We gotta start taking control of our own selves again. You've done the hard work here. Now you need to rest, so you can prepare for whatever comes next.
Be that working your butt off for the good of us all, or raising your morale for the good of yourself.
And frankly, looking at how you're pushing yourself? I think you could stand a movie night here soon.

[Yukio runs a hand through his hair distractedly, leaving him with an amusing hairdo that's trying its very hardest to stick up at all sorts of amusing angles. Rin and Yukio don't always look enough alike for people to immediately peg them as siblings, but they definitely have the same bird's nest on their heads. This twin is just more determined about taming it.]
... If something like this happens again, we might not be so lucky.
[He's not the right kind of doctor for this. Deadly plagues and surprise heart patients... Hell, they don't have enough modern medical equipment, and even if they did he wouldn't necessarily know how to use it.
no subject
[He pats his wrist, and he smiles.]
And you, dear Yukio, are entirely too pessimistic.
[He gives his wrist another pat, and he grins.]
I've got half a galaxy's worth of knowledge stored away in here. Medicine, engineering, among other things.
What we don't know... we can learn. I mean, heck. Less than two months ago, I knew nothing about medicine besides field medicine. Now look at me, taking care of a plague?
[He waves it off, sounding totally non-chalant.]
We'll deal. Just relax, and stop worrying.
no subject
Colin-san, we had patients with no more than twenty-four hours left by the time the cure was brought back. If that.
[No one was saying it while people were still sick, of course, but he knows what dying looks like, and he's sure Colin does too.]
no subject
Besides, those 24 hours have now passed, and we haven't lost anyone. Focus on what could have happened, and you'll get mired there.
You wanna make things better for us? Start thinking about what we can do in the future. You're gonna be our doctor.
And lucky for you, I can build you just about anything you think we need. ANYTHING.
In the meantime? You find a way to relax, because if you keep stressing, you're gonna make yourself sick. And after a plague, that would just be embarrassing.
no subject
Yukio sighs and looks down at Oshawott, patting the little Pokemon's head lightly. He's going to be the doctor for the Bastion. No pressure, right? Makes it a little hard to relax, but Colin's right.]
I guess I have some reading to do. [A lot of reading.] Later.
no subject
Later, indeed. And you won't be alone. For better or for worse, it looks like I'm the one here with the second highest amount of medical training. We're likely to be study buddies.
[Have a smirk, Yukio.]
You gonna be okay? ... Need a hug? You've worked yourself to the bone here, and I bet you haven't let yourself have any comfort just yet...
no subject
Yukio looks up and smiles a little, shaking his head.]
I'll be alright. I just need to rest.
no subject
[Colin gives Yukio and a smile, and steps away from the bed.]
Get some rest.
Oshawott? If he tries to get up any time in the next hour, sit on his chest and look cute at him.
no subject
He doesn't plan on sleeping for more than an hour or so... but what he plans and what's going to happen are two different things.]
