Day 203 | The sick are recovering! (Open)
WHO: Colin, any recovering folks, any visitors.
OPEN: Open like a door
WHEN: Day 203 (BACKDATED)
WHAT: The cure has been found and administered. Check up on the sick, why don't you?
WHERE: The hospital
FORMAT: However you want, go nuts
WARNINGS: Recovering people, probable sass, and of course, Colin.
After six days of paranoia, and three days of absolute terror, things were finally looking up. A cure had been delivered, and with it, the calamity survivors had been able to synthesize more than enough doses of cure for the plague to safeguard the Bastion. It had been administered to the sick, and now all that was needed was to make sure that everyone recovered.
Colin, of course, was going to be visiting everyone to make sure that there weren't any complications. It wouldn't do to have anyone in danger after they'd made it through to the end. He had yet to take off his environmental suit though, his own paranoia was significant.
(OOC: I figure this will be a good opportunity for people to do a little more mingling, and get their bearings after the plague. The quarantine has been lifted, though Colin still wants people washing their hands frequently. If you want Colin to check up on the sick, he can do that! If you want someone else to check up on the sick, by all means! The threat is passed, now rejoice, hug your sick loved ones, and let's move on!)

[She did ask.]

[She doesn't seem particularly alarmed by this revelation.]
Did the good guys beat you up?
no subject
And no. They didn't. I abdicated my throne.

... I mostly lived in the wilderness anyway, so survival tactics aren't new to me.

[He shrugs.]
It's a very old story in my world. But...
A terribly long time ago... there was a man and a Pokemon. He loved that Pokemon very much. A war began. The man's beloved Pokemon took part in the war, because he was the king and so he had to sacrifice for the good of the country. Several years passed.
[He goes quiet for a few moments, before speaking again.]
He... he was given a tiny box. The man wanted to bring the Pokemon back. No matter what it took. The man built a machine to give it life. Using it required the life force of many Pokemon, and so he used a Pokemon who stole the life force from beings around it in order to power the machine.
... But he brought his beloved Pokemon back. Even still... the man had suffered too much. His rage had not subsided. He could not forgive the world that had hurt the Pokemon he loved. He turned the machine into the ultimate weapon. The man became a bringer of destruction that ended the war, decimating both sides.
The Pokemon that was given life must have known... that the lives of many Pokemon were taken to restore its life. The resurrected eternal Pokemon left the man's side. The man was surprised and sad. He had revived it so they could be together...
Day after day passed, but they were never to meet. Eventually, he became a mere shell of a man. A man condemned to wander forever by the light of the weapon... and a Pokemon that also wanders eternally...

You make immortality sound so depressing.
I know there was this moral to the story, like "resurrecting the dead, big no-no," I've learned that one myself, but that's the point. You learn it and then you move on and you don't do it anymore.
I can tag with the right account I swear...
happens to the best of us

True, though I'm not all that interested in the former.
[It just gets too complicated, especially in a small group like this.]

Why are there so many people here with no sex drive? It's like the universe wants us all to die out.

So you're one of those people who'd want to be in a relationship first?
no subject
... Well I'm not saying you have to be in a formal, long-term thing... but I'd prefer not to have one night stands. I don't have problems with other people doing it, but...
[Shrug. He's old. He's adapted in some ways but some things are hard to shift like that.]
no subject
Well, I can understand that. You generally communicate better with people who've known you longer.
[Yes, she's talking about communication during sex.]
no subject
That's very true. And communication is incredibly important during those sorts of things.
