Who: Quarantined survivors who came back from the  Radio Tower mission, anyone who wants to risk visiting them.

When: Day 197 → Day 200
Where: The Hospital, in the wing that Colin sectioned off
What: So that Radio Tower mission didn't exactly go according to plan, did it? Despite Rin's efforts to cleanse everyone with her flames, Colin has insisted on Quarantine and has shoved everyone involved in to the hospital to wait it out and hope that no symptoms show up. Boredom, Pokemon egg hatching and other such shenanigans ensue.

Warnings: The designated Patient Zeros are involved in this, and will beginning showing symptoms starting Day 200, kicking off the second part of the Sickness Within plot.

[Remember that whole talk you had with Rin, Zahi? About her powers? And the crack about the light house?

Yeah.

Rin just raises a hand, looking exhausted and barely able to stand on her own two feet after what she'd done.

It doesn't help that their "seven hour" window also shoved them right in to the following early morning. Not only has she expended a ridiculous amount of energy, she also hasn't slept in almost 24 hours.]

[She just sort of... flops over on the grass then, wanting nothing more than to sleep forever.]

Not... all the fire was me... Seimei was burnin' some of the bodies...

[Yeah, he's going over to kneel by her, and maybe help her up if she's up for standing again.]

That doesn't really explain why You lit the whole thing up like a lighthouse. And how'd you manage it without burning everyone?

That's... my power...

[She lets out an exhausted laugh, trying to stand properly with his help. She'd been stubborn even after collapsing before the tower came to the Bastion but her energy was already starting to wane again.]

I had to protect everyone. I didn't want... whatever killed those people to get back here...

[ Guess who finally got bored enough to show it? Yep, the knight. The first day had been mostly sleeping, the second day, Duke managed to keep the boredom away without trouble. Today?

Today the knight is finally poking what the options are. Specifically, anyone who looks like they're reading anything might get an awkward shadow. Might as well be somewhat productive while bored, right? ]

[ So she had been right? Anna looks a little worried, but its probably not for the reasons that anyone would think an 11 year old would be worried about bodies... ]

[ And off she goes toward the hospital. Don't mind her and her firebug. ]

[Having the quarantine in the hospital was a good idea for many reasons. For Rin in particular, it meant a bed to sleep in in order to regain energy lost during her attempt to burn away the sickness found at the radio tower's location. She managed to collapse once and was barely walking even after being stubborn enough to attempt to.

Once they had her in the hospital, she had almost immediately fallen asleep, though if it was by sedative or sheer exhaustion was almost impossible to tell. And she stayed that way for almost a full 24 hours (making up for the day she didn't sleep on top of everything else) until something near by her shook and trembled, rousing her out of her groggy sleep.

Her head was pounding, her eyes hurt and she felt almost painfully overheated, and whatever was shaking next to her was only serving to irritate her right then.

She groaned at the bright white light above her head, vaguely recalling how she had woken up after the incident on the mountain. She almost wanted to laugh. Twice now she had to cleanse away something that could kill people with the very flames that had done just that the night of her birth. Twice now she had collapsed under the weight of her own power and strained control. Twice now she had woken up in a place she wasn't familiar with after the fact.

She half expected to turn and see Shiemi sleeping next to her, but it was a different face that greeted her.]

["Face" is a bit of a stretch there. Bon is dozing in a chair with a face mask on, so the most Rin is going to be able to see is his closed eyes.

He had actually been there since last night, but she hadn't shown any signs of waking, so he had decided to stay there until she woke up. Obviously he wouldn't be able to stay all the time, since he hadn't been on the trip, he had to make sure he didn't catch anything from them. But he wanted to be there when she woke up. He had to be.

And as soon as Rin spoke, Bon woke up with a start, sitting up suddenly.]

I'm awake.

[Nope he hadn't been dozing off not him.]

[Close enough. She knows him by now, it's not like she's going to not recognize him just because of a face mask.

Him jerking awake almost earned a chuckle, but she was still too groggy even for that. Instead she forced herself to sit up with a sore groan, attempting to rub at her eyes with her right hand only to find an IV in it, no longer attached to any bag since that had been something administered and finished a while ago.]

... geez... what time is it?

Probably early morning.

[There's no clock in the room, and he's long since lost the habit of checking his cell-phone. Hell, he doesn't even carry it on him anymore. There's no point.

But the dark outside is gradually getting lighter, so it's pretty close to sunrise.]

How are you feeling?

Rin snagged one of those data pads about an hour ago and tucked herself in an arm chair in the quarantine area with a small sleeping pig-like creature in her lap.

If Duke approaches, though, she'll find that what's on the screen isn't blocks of text but pictures with text, and...

Rin is crying. For some reason.]

Th-that's so sad...

Shitty... I think I actually feel worse than I did in Kyoto...

[Okay never mind sitting up is not happening right now. Ow.]

Not the whole time, just the last few hours or so.

[He points to the mask on his face.]

As long as I wear this, and disinfect when I leave, he doesn't care.

There was a plague there, it killed everyone who'd taken up refuge in the buildings.

We've all been exposed.

Rin did what she could to clear the surface contaminations, which was... A lot of fire, really.

[Plagues. Zahi knows plagues. Just like Zulf, Zahi had survived the plage that had killed so many Ura. Even hearing the word 'plague' is enough to make him frown in disgust at the memory.

But he's not going to abandon the people here just because they might be infected. If anything, he might be one of the few that can actually help.]

Let's get everyone to the hospital, then. At the very least, you guys can stay holed up in there until we know if you caught it or not.

Oh... that's good. 'mglad. Not sure I woulda been okay not seein' you for however long I'm gonna be stuck here.

[Another laugh, utterly exhausted sounding and maybe a tiny bit unhinged. Sorry, guys, she's really out of it.

Not enough that she doesn't notice that frown, though, brows knitting together in worry.]
