Day 197 - The Twilight Shore
Who: Ghaleon and you. Yes, you. You know who you are.
Open: Open
When: Day 197
Where: Near the entrance to the Skyway
What: New guy might need a bit of help getting to the hospital.
Format: any
Warnings: vague descriptions of grievous bodily harm

[His legs finally give out only a few moments after entering the town. As much as he'd like to try and rise to his feet again, Ghaleon knows there isn't much use in it. Even making it this far with his wounds had taken up the reserves of his strength, and he can hardly afford to waste the few scraps of energy he has left without at least having a clear idea of where a safe spot to nurse his wounds might be. Between the fight with Hiro and his friends, the apparent end of the world (his continued life despite the lack of Zophar's power remains a mystery he has yet to solve), and the long trek requiring more than one fight with monsters, the mage is quite simply too exhausted to give much of a damn that none of this looks familiar.
...Of course, that could potentially be partially to do with the blood loss, but it's a little hard to gauge when everything hurts and is bordering on numb.
...Hopefully the locals are friendly, because he's really not in the mood to deal with anyone's BS at the moment.]

[A sharp whistle and a click of someone's tongue has a good deal of them quieting, and then Zulf is pushing past the crowd of feathers.]
You all need to calm do- ah!
[HELLO SIR, YOU APPEAR TO BE BLEEDING]
[HEAVILY]
[There's a slight jerk response and a step backwards before Zulf takes in a deep shaky breath. He hurries forward, leaning down to try and help Ghaleon up.]
How badly are you injured? [He won't bother asking 'are you alright' since he obviously isn't.]
no subject
For Zulf's ability not to ask a dumb question though, he is rewarded with an answer that isn't exceedingly sarcastic. Why, he even sounds slightly appreciative of the help getting back to his feet.]
I've received worse, but judging by the numbness in my extremities, I... may need some assistance. [Really, from the look of him, it's kind of miracle he hasn't passed out yet.]
no subject
[Zulf is still doing his best to help the man up, however, crouching down to try to slip himself under one of Ghaleon's arms and take some of his weight. Some of the Rattle-Tails are nudging about to like that will help.]
We have a hospital- I'll take you there right away.
no subject
It wasn't meant to be particularly comforting.
[This is probably the wrong time to mention that the worst injuries he ever received were fatal though, so he's keeping that little tidbit of info to himself until later.
With the extra help, he manages to regain his feet and allows himself to be lead onward. Ghaleon chuckles humorlessly at the mention of the hospital.]
So a hospital survived the destruction of the world, hm? How convenient for me.
no subject
Not quite... The Bastion created it. And- a slight correction. The destruction of worlds. But we can wait until you've been tended to before we continue to talk about that.
no subject
Of course. I have better things to do than bleed to death again, after all.
no subject
Don't we all... [Ha. Ha.] We're nearly there, so- don't worry. [Yep, that sure is the hospital looming up before them. Now to just hope a doctor is already there.]
no subject
And here I thought it was going to be a quiet day.
[Gonna go ahead and situate himself beneath the injured man's free arm and lead all of them toward the nearest work room.]
Did this all happen on the Skyway?
[Seriously, man, you're not looking good. How are you still conscious?]
no subject
[At this point Ghaleon's beginning to suspect that he's still conscious because magic is more important to keep him going than blood. That or adrenaline. He doesn't really want to test to find out which though.]
Hardly. The monsters simply took advantage of the injuries I'd already sustained.
[For being so beat up, he sure sounds proud about that. Actually, the small, weak grin he's sporting kind of suggests that the blood on his outfit might not entirely be his. Absently he thinks that his cloak going to have to be replaced after this.
...Oops, yep, vision's getting a bit fuzzy around the edges. Better lay him down quick boys.]
no subject
Don't talk so much, you can barely walk.
good job, me, forgetting to track this thread
Sorry, bro, any parts of your cloak or outfit that're in the way are a loss, but Yuki's gotta figure that keeping Ghaleon from bleeding to death is preferable.]
/patpat
The wounds under the clothes mostly appear not to be terribly deep - some of the scars on his torso look far worse than these fresh injuries - although the number of them coupled with the few larger ones that appear to have been caused by a blade of some sort account for how much blood the man has lost.]

no subject
What's your name, sir?
no subject
Ghaleon.
no subject
It's nice to meet you, Ghaleon-san. My name is Yukio Okumura.
[Yep, he's making small talk, because Ghaleon's lost a lot of blood and Yuki would like to keep him focused on something.]
no subject
So other worlds beyond my own were destroyed as well, then. I suppose it would be a bit much to hope I'm not the only survivor of Lunar?
[Although his face remains calm, his tone sounds resigned.]
no subject
I've never heard of such a place, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you're the only survivor.
no subject
Perhaps, perhaps not. I suppose my survival remains terribly ironic regardless of whichever option is true.
no subject
Yeah, Yukio's just going to get on with his job for now. He's making good progress, though. Ghaleon won't be leaving the hospital today, but he's not going to die, so it's a win.]
no subject
Tell me, what was it that put the worlds in such a state? What was it that has killed even the gods?
no subject
I don't think it's something that should be told to you while you're in such a state... Not while the doctor is working on you.
gagtag
Ah. So human stupidity has once again resulted in a fuck up of catastrophic proportions. The people responsible for this can be assured that none shall ever top their accomplishments in sheer idiocy.
[Humanity, he is disappoint.]
