[Day 195] Around the Bastion + Skyway (open)
Who: Red and anybody.
Open: Open
When: Days 195
Where: Multiple options.
What: Just another pokémon kid at the Bastionwith no fashion sense.
Format: Pick your poison, I shall go with the flow.
Warnings: None at the moment.
[ Red was given the low-down on the state of the End of the World upon his arrival, thanks to the people who have long ago come to terms with it and know that people didn't always stay gone with their homes. Whether he came from a past, the present, or whatever, that kind of questioning hadn't entered Red's mind, nor yet why him out of what would be millions of others.
It could be a lie; of course it could be. And yet the strange delusion that was the Bastion hadn't disappeared to him over the hours of being there, or during the night that he and his pokémon slept. He woke up to a new morning away from snow and familiarity of the mountain he came from, in the same room offered to him in this fractured world.
But Red wasn't one to sit around and do nothing. That much was still a part of him after years of living that way. The idea of his world being gone was still too surreal a concept for him to sit around and mourn over. Bumbling around and figuring something out, whatever that something might be, seemed a much better use of his and his pokémon's times. ]
( ooc: sooo i tried to make up a few options but yeah. if you have any ideas you wanna go with try it. )

- [ Location: Bastion - early morning to early noon ]
For the most part, Red can be located around the Bastion during morning-to-noon. The idea is to explore, with his starting point being from the apartments early in the day, to the arsenal, the training building, and generally just looking around at different locations there are. Also the monument because who doesn't end up there at least once, right. Oh yes, that ranch looks interesting to check out too.
He can be found with his Pikachu out, who usually sniffs and pokes his nose around ahead of Red, though he's keeping closer to his trainer due to. Well, the situation.
Dragonfield
[ A large body of a water is a good location to spend some time at. It's free water, plus the creatures around it are unusual and different. None he knows, but hey, there's plenty of unknown pokémon out there to him.
Here's a spot that he'll let out his team, who pay some attention to drinking and having Red check them over, speaking to the creatures that... make sounds, but aren't exactly speaking the same language back to him.
But then half of their attention is on everything else. Particularly the fact that there's floating islands in the sky. Sure, some of them saw that yesterday, but it's not exactly a thing that one gets used to right away. ]
Donut Trees
[ It is a doughnut tree. Surely this is actually fantasy. A tasty fantasy that Red just. Examines. In disbelief. Because there are doughnut trees growing here Pikachu do you see this too.
You know what, fantasy actually tastes pretty good. For a short while Red and his whole team will be out to sample a few. Not the whole lot, no worry about that, though Snorlax and Charizard do enjoy them the most and so have more than just two. And yes, even some of the leaves because Pikachu and Snorlax both got curious about them and woah. ]
[ Location: Skyway - afternoon ]
After noon, Red will head to the Skyway to investigate and explore. There's items of interest that can be found around here supposedly from what he's heard, particularly the Shards. He's not sure what he wants to do right now - if to believe that he should be helping or not or if there's something bigger going on despite appearances, but his curiosity for the floating islands and his desire to see what he can find are both pulls towards exploring
Open Plains
[ Red and his team end up here at different times throughout their exploration. It connects to most of the different locations and it's a good place to rest while still getting used to what's out there. The monsters are different from what they're used to, but nothing's been too difficult so far fortunately. He can be spotted here now and then, whether travelling through or taking a rest, with one or two of his team mates out. ]
Residential District
[ It's here that items of interest could be found (or so he was told) if one was to look. It's not as glamorous looking as it once all obviously was, but time and ruin will do that to most buildings not prepared for disaster. ]
[ It's dark by the time Red returns with his team back to the Bastion, exhausted in a way that isn't entirely unusual to him, but different for what they've been doing. He ends up checking out that Donut Tree again (hey, look, more doughnuts), as well as getting some proper food for items that he retrieved. It's a modest amount of food, which he decides to take outside so his team can eat it together. The dragonfield seems like a good place for this, doesn't it. ]
( ooc: sooo i tried to make up a few options but yeah. if you have any ideas you wanna go with try it. )

Morning - Dragonfield
[The main reason being the giant dragon that's suddenly diving into the water from above with a massive splash, the effects being a series of small waves and ripples extending to the shore Red is on. After a moment, Paarthurnax resurfaces just to spread out his wings and sort of float on the surface.]
[Yes he is sunning. What do you want from him?]
no subject
But wow, it's certainly a good thing that Red didn't take out Charizard right after seeing the massive amounts of water; a charizard's flame were resilient to some degrees of exposure to water, but it didn't make for a happy fire-type at all to get soaked.
Too bad Red and Pikachu aren't as lucky. The front of the electric rodent gets covered, causing the animal's cheeks to spark one moment, then to shake off the unwelcome bath from his body. Red's jeans soak it in before he can move back from what comes over, and. Oh dear. Nobody likes wet jeans.
But when he sees the dragon resurface, he's not going to grumble about it to them. He's not exactly the Animal Whisperer here, and the dragon seems... much more content to mind his own business.
Though Red is going to stare at him while he floats there, in some awe at the beast, as he's bent down trying to fruitlessly get rid of some excess liquid from his trousers.
But hey. That dragon's very big, but there's still plenty of space to get water, isn't there? So after giving up on his jeans, he takes off one pokéball from his waist, releasing his Blastoise onto the ground beside him. He gives the large turtle-like creature a pat on his side as he stands back up, looking over to the dragon.... still just gonna sun over there, right dude? ]
no subject
[The sound of the Blastoise being released seems to make him pay a bit more attention, although he doesn't move from his floating position on the water. There's just a low rumble- although not particularly threatening- before he speaks.]
Drem yol lok. You are one of those who are known as trainers, correct?
no subject
Right. Better not keep them waiting for an answer. ]
... That's right, I'm a pokémon trainer. Are you a dragon-type?

Donut Trees - Morning
[That's all Zulf has to say as he pauses while he's passing by, catching sight of a newcomer staring at the monstrosities that Aoi has created.]
no subject
... Are they edible?

THE GIRL
THE MYTH
THE LEGEND
AOI ASAHINA
who is trying to do pull-ups on a branch in the donut tree Pikachu is scampering about in ahead of the others, excuse you! Except she isn't perturbed at all; she takes a moment to process the weird mouse-thing before remembering that right, Pokémon are a thing, and grins.] Hi there, little guy! What're you—oh! [And then she notices Red and the rest of the team coming up behind him.] Is he with you?
no subject
Oh, and this time he shows up there's somebody actually at the tree site - but then, who wouldn't want to hang around a tree that grew free food? Pikachu lowers his head and peers down at Aoi from the tree branch he's standing on and she's using for her exercise.
While Red now with his ~crew~ approach like the slowpokes they are. The trainer pauses seeing... her... pulling it up on a doughnut tree, but then nods. ]
Yeah. I thought I could give my pokémon some before we left. Do you mind?
[ Since you're kinda dangling there right now and all. But there's a big Snorlax here that is staring lovingly at the tree. 'Please say this' says its face. ]
no subject
She drops down from the branch and steps away from the tree, making a wide, dramatic gesture towards it.] Go for it! It's all yours! Are you headed out to the Skyway?

/PILES ON THE TAGS
Well... 'trainer' is a bit of a misnomer for N given that he's never considered himself one, and back home would never keep a Pokemon long enough to form a proper team.
That seems to have changed quite a bit in recent months since their arrival here, and what with the eggs that recently hatched N has gained enough Pokemon for a team and then some.
So after Red has spent some time in the Dragonfield, he might come across a familiar sight - a string of various Pokemon (Zoroark, Swablu, Darumaka, Woobat, Tirtouga, and Cottonee to be specific) following along behind a tall, skinny man with a fluffy mass of green hair under a black and white cap.
Well "following behind" was also somewhat misleading because the Zoroark is actually walking more next to the man, upright and bipedal and... looking a bit like he's holding a conversation with him. In fact the man is responding to the Zoroark's grunts and growls with perfectly natural replies, even laughing and nodding or shaking his head.
Huh.
He's a bit odd, isn't he?
Dare you approach, Red?]
gross
Actually, Red has a history of it. But when he sees them, his first instinct isn't to approach them or to question over the apparent conversation being held by the human and the pokémon-like creature. He knows he's somewhere strange enough not to question that too much right off the bat, and who doesn't like to make (try to make) conversation with their pokémon? Not that he can exactly tell the extent of the current conversation from his position.
But he does stop walking, eyes fixated on the sight of the creatures and even kneeling down to get a better view of the smaller ones because look at those things. Were they pokémon? Even if they weren't look at them.
Pikachu on the other hand, while also standing and gawking a moment there with his trainer, does decide to go and approach the group with an excitement of meeting new people, but also possibly meeting others of his kind!?
He at least has manners not to get right in their face, not wanting to alarm any of them of course, but he does stop at a point noticeable for them and picks himself up onto his two back feet. A cheerful smile on his face, he squeaks a hello to them all, waving a tiny paw (kind sorta yes) excitedly. Hi, I'm Pikachu! It's nice to meet you! ]
ur face
And N is always eager to meet new Pokemon, even more so in this place. For all the ones they've gained recently, a Pikachu has not been on that list, and seeing the little yellow creature bound up to them makes his face light up brightly.
He stops the train of Pokemon, all of them coming to gather around Pikachu after his greeting. He kneels down and holds a hand out.]
Hello, Pikachu! It's very nice to meet you, too. Did you just arrive here?
[Get used to this sight, Red. This is the friendliest you will ever see him.]

[It's only then that he turns and notices the young trainer. He raises a hand in greeting, but only approaches a little bit. If the other doesn't want to talk, he'll understand.]
no subject
The ways the creatures just...disappear like that had startled Red when he first came across them. He thought it had been a trick (ghost types were fond of tactics like that), but waiting around on guard had brought... nothing. Nada. Zilch. All that was left of the encounter was one of those valuable shards.
Red doesn't recognise any of the creatures with the man - pokémon, totally pokémon, right? Always pokémon until proven otherwise, - but that doesn't stop him from being intrigued. The size of the man himself is... also a thing. Wow, hi there.
He nods back, Pikachu and Blastoise both out by his side, raising a hand up in return. He's not actually sure if to approach him either, but he saw the man move forward a little... okay, well, it can't hurt. He's got reliable help with him if there's any reason to be concerned.
So Red walks over to him, stopping with some space between them and tipping his the brim of his hat in another greeting. ]

DONUT TREES and we'll have Red and Hilda meet later when Hilda's not grounded
She can now say that donuts grow on trees.
She's seen it.
And then she notices the guy and the pokemon. She'd seen Pokemon at the daycare while she was actually exploring the Bastion, but these were different and she was actually close enough to touch them.
... But she doesn't, out of respect for them. Instead she just stares. Sweet. ]
who wants hilda anyway
And indeed, those are pokémon munching away on sugary snacks from a doughnut tree that should be less of a thing than the end all worlds is. Red spots the girl staring, not knowing why exactly she is - there's a few possible reasons - but takes a step back from where he stands and motions the now open space for her. Did you want to come here for a doughnut, miss? ]
wow rude
I've never seen creatures like this before ... are they anything like the ones over at that house over there?

Skyway - Afternoon.
This is where he finds Red, looking a bit serious with his sword drawn and a few scratches and bruises here and there from a previous fight.]
If you don't know your way out here, you should probably go back to the Bastion. It's safe there.
[Despite how direct his words are, his tone isn't condescending. He's curious about the newcomer, but introductions may be better saved for being somewhere less exposed.]
no subject
It might've been cocky (too cocky) for a newcomer to go exploring the day after arriving, but he wasn't so dumb to not to be cautious about how far he explored in that day either. Nonetheless, it's strange to come across a person with a weapon like that. It's so... old-fashioned. He's curious in turn, over him and the monsters themselves to be found here. ]
We're fine. [ It's a simple response. He wasn't out alone, after all. Pikachu was out of his ball, down upon the ground to listen out for anything suspicious - it was easy to miss him, being small, quiet and quick. Red notes the marks of fighting on the man, Red's hands hanging down by his sides. ] What type of monsters in this area should I be careful for?
no subject
[Ryu rolls his shoulders, loosening up a little.]
I came across a decent group of them. They got a few pecks in before I managed to cut down the group. It's a bit more difficult when they can fly and I can't.

( day 196 or 167 )
[ Red had been told about the daycare and their baby pokémon by N, and offered in their conversation to give a helping hand to them when he could. Admittedly, it's been a long time since he'd been around a baby pokémon or even an egg beyond the few in the wild. But hey, there was no harm (hopefully) in giving it a go.
So a day after meeting with the other pokémon-related person, Red decides to check out the centre. Greet the baby pokémon, possibly introduce himself to the other trainers and see if there was anything in particular he could do. All that fun stuff.
Which means there'll be a knock knock knock on the front door, sometime around morning but after most breakfasts have been finished with. Hello hello. Red is also accompanied by his pikachu out of his ball standing on the ground with ears perked right up in anticipation. Seemed like a good idea to have a pokémon with him, and Pikachu's the smallest on his team. ]
Re: ( day 196 or 167 )
The stairs proved difficult for someone half asleep to navigate and Calem ended up tumbling down half of them. After a quick assessment that the dramatically groaning heap of human on the floor was not in fact in any serious pain, Lucario went to answer the door himself. He was big enough to grab the knob so why not? He pulled it open and.. oh cool. Another trainer. This one looked infinitely more balanced then his own. ]
Lucario, how could you just leave your trainer on the floor like this? Such cruelty...!
[ Lucario glances back to Calem and squints a little before shaking his head and stepping aside, making a sweeping motion with his paw. Red, if you want to visit the weirdo here, you are welcome to it. ]
no subject
But uh, wow. What a sight to come into - Calem, and Lucario. Lucario gets a quick look-over following a nod and a murmur of thanks, but then Red and Pikachu enter into the building.
And indeed, they will go over to that bundle of trainer! Pikachu reaches first (of course), patting the boy on the head with a pi pi pii?, and Red stands, hovering slightly. ]
Need a hand?
[ He can even provide two! ]
