Day 71 - Nocturne
Who: A dhampire pretending to be be a wolf and whoever wants to bug him.
When: Day 71, late afternoon
Where: Near the river
What: Introspection, and Alucard miiiight be having a bit of an existential crisis.
Format: Action
Warnings: none
[The light reflecting off the water in the river is a nice peaceful sight to accompany the sound of the wind playing through the longer bits of grass. Somewhat of a beautiful scene to contemplate if one stops to look. The one thing that sticks out as a bit odd about the scene is the presence of a large wolf staring into the water in a rather pensive manner. Given the sword at its side, it appears that this is far from any ordinary wolf.
Alucard had not given much thought to people believing him to be a new arrival; he had simply felt it too much to continue on in his usual form for the moment. It is... easier in a way, to be a wolf. Like this, he does not really have to worry about the past or the future. A wolf has no worries beyond if it will be able to fill its belly that day and sleep in a relatively safe spot at night. Unlike humans or related creatures, it does not care for little things like "promises" or "purpose." The human in Alucard worries that perhaps his chosen purpose for existence - the promise he had made to his mother - and everything he'd done to keep it had been rendered meaningless when his world had been torn asunder in the Calamity. Even his dreams had been plagued by these thoughts of late. Like this at least, he can pretend for a time that he is not troubled by recent events...]

Still, he advances cautiously, not sure whether this being is sentient or not, and whether it's hostile or not. There's no way to tell just by looking at it.
That being said, he does have to admire it. Top predators are such a rarity in his world, and he's never been so close to a wolf before. It's breathtaking, in a way, how it looks.] ...hey...?

That said, he approaches slowly, and offers a small grin.] You understand what I'm saying, huh? Can I join you?

He nods once again.]

For now, he sits down next to the wolf. One thing that does grab his attention is the sword. Now that he's closer, the scabbard looks familiar to him. But that's Alucard's weapon, surely... hrm. Why not ask? It'd be a decent ice breaker.] That sword... can you use it? You'll have to forgive me, I've never met... well, any wolf, let alone a sentient one.

Maybe a sort of grunt will suffice as an answer, because he really doesn't know whether to nod or shake his head.]
