[Day 195] I can feel my dreams when I’m in my city [OPEN]
Who: Rin Okumura and you!
Open: Open
When: Day 195
Where: Various. Pick a prompt, any prompt!
What: Hobgoblins and Turtle Ducks and Squirts, Oh my!
Format: Action
Warnings: You all should know this by now
a. dragonfield - lake, late morning
[Pokemon weren't the only creatures getting rescued from those places showing up on the Skyway. Rin's home location had brought them back a shy Hobgoblin who had taken to hiding... somewhere else in the Bastion. In Zuko's home, a number of turtle ducks had miraculously survived when nothing else had, and they had managed to very carefully bring them back and get them located in the small lake (really it was too big to be a pond) and river that went behind the old apartments and around the Draongfield.
And that's where Rin was this morning after getting breakfast ready in the Distillery for everyone else - feeding the turtle ducks and making sure they were doing well.
She was crouched down (in a skirt no less, but like she cared) tossing crumbled up bread from loaves baked the day before in to the water for them.]
Mornin' guys. How you likin' your new home?
[Of course she wasn't expecting an answer. They were odd creatures for her but not demons or Skyway creatures or Pokemon.]
b. near Colin's workshop
[Speaking of that Hobgoblin...]
C'mere... c'mon I'm not gonna hurt you...
[Rin has finally seen the demon after so many weeks, skirting around dark, shadowed areas of the Bastion, looking wide eyed and frightened of everything.
Funny, considering it was a demon that could easily injure some one if it felt the need to.
But this was the runt of the group that it had been with before the Calamity struck, and it was naturally timid and jumpy instead of being aggressive like most other demons.
So when Rin had spotted it and called out in hopes of getting it to come out of hiding, only for it to zip away and wedge itself in between a stack of scraps Colin had left outside probably with the intent to take inside sooner or later.
Of course what Rin didn't realize was that the poor thing had gotten itself actually stuck in there, and it's over sized arms were flailing awkwardly as it tried to get out and get away from Rin.
So she was on her knees, half crawled in to the tented scrap stack, attempting to reach for the Hobgoblin.
Yeah this probably won't end well.]
c. back at the kitchen, late evening
[So following whatever happened with the Hobgoblin, Rin will be back in the kitchen, nursing a fading bump on her head with a still timid Hobgoblin hovering behind her and that baby Squirt that was still around attempting to be friendly with it and not getting very far.
Actual Disney Princess of Unusual Creatures, Rin Okumura.
She's irritated thanks to how things went today, but at least the Hobgoblin was out of hiding.
And dinner smelled as delicious as always. So there was that.]

a!
But either way he was never one to just dally about for long and after a quick bite he began meandering around town looking for something entertaining, Lucario loping along beside him.
The turtle ducks catch his eye and he finds himself pulling his pokedex almost instinctively from his pocket. The bipedal dog just shakes his head and tugs the boy's sleeve. ]
Not pokemon huh? This is so weird I don't know if I can get used to...
[ He trails off as he notices there's a girl by the pond as well. ]
Pardon me Miss, but I think you may want to... 'adjust' yourself. I fear that if you bend forward anymore you may accidentally bear that which you should not.

[Rin still had a problem with wearing her skirts over her tail, but at the moment that wasn't the reason for her skirt riding up. Her tail was lying on the grass next to her, probably easily over looked.
She glanced over her shoulder, a turtle duck still pecking at her food in her hand.]
What're you talkin' about?
no subject
It is very possible that in a moment or two anyone passing by will know what you're wearing beneath your skirt. A light breeze could do the deed.
no subject
And to what Calem was saying?]
... oh. And?
[Rin pls.]

Hm? Oh, uhm. Yeah, sure.
[She wasn't expecting any help today, but it would be good to have some given how much her head is still hurting.]

C
Evening, Rin-Rin.
[He spies the Hobgoblin, and he gives it a faint smile.]
Hey there, little one. Decided to show yourself?
[He knows that the Hobgoblin isn't much in the mood for touching... but at least the squirt is friendly. He reaches out and gives the squirt a light scratch along the back.]
no subject
[She's just going to focus on cooking, since she figures Colin is in there to do his own thing.
The Hobgoblin peeks out from the cupboard where he's been hiding from the Squirt. And the Squirt is all for the pets.]
no subject
That creature's been hanging around my store room, he or she seems quite timid... Anyway, can I ask a favor?
[He actually sounds slightly unsettled, for once.]

Rin looks up from what she's cutting, glancing up at the squeaking Squirt with a huff.]
He's always like that.

Hey.
[Is she talking to Rin? The turtle ducks? Possibly both.]
:3
[Even if she's talking to the ducks, Rin is going to respond to her anyway. A broken off piece of bread is handed over wordlessly. She won't strike up conversation on the chance that Zuko isn't feeling that talkative, but... she's there if the princess does feel like it.]

They seem like they're settling in okay.

... It was pretty cool, actually.
He let his nose lead him back into the kitchen where he knew he'd find his sister, obviously tired, but apparently in a decent enough mood.]
You're here late. [Not that that was unusual. Where Yukio passed the his time in the hospital (time spent much more productively now that he had actual patients), Rin passed her time in the kitchen. That was just how things were.
The hobgoblin, though. That was a new addition.]
... Where did that come from?
no subject
[Various doughs for bread and pastries that she would make tomorrow, things that needed to set overnight. She didn't spend every waking hour there (she did have a boyfriend to be with sometimes) but she certainly made that kitchen her second home.
Her own egg was also wrapped up, sitting a short distance away from the very warm wood oven set in to the wall that she had requested Colin keep when he upgraded everything. Luckily he also managed to make the upgrades fit in with the style of the rest of the kitchen so things didn't look terribly out of place.
BUT all that aside there was something out of place, and Yukio had just seen it.
And it had seen Yukio.
And promptly slammed the door under the sink to hide from him.]
... oh uh. Remember where I found you?
no subject
He nodded, frowning a little and eying the door as it slammed shut. Typical behavior for a hobgoblin caught outside the protection of its colony. That it had been out in the open of the bright kitchen at all was a surprise in itself.]
It was in the shopping district?
