What: Bon will be doing different things throughout the day, and he is ready for the bothering.

[In the morning, Bon will be meditating near the river. Anyone who comes near him can hear him chanting under his breath, but otherwise he will be not moving at all.

Closer to midday, he's at the farm, checking on the food that is growing and taking anything that's ready to be eaten over the the Distillery for Mireille and Rin to cook. He also takes a break at some point, and he can be found in the shade of a tree, munching on an apple.

In the afternoon, he's at the apartment buildings, trying to figure out a way to measure his window so he can make some better curtains and block out the constant sunlight. Sleeping isn't easy when there's no nighttime.

Besides those things, he can be found walking around, going to and from those various locations.]

[she shrugs, resting hands on her ankles as she lets out a yawn, still waking up from the morning.]

Kaoru wants a sewing machine so he can make use of all that fabric I found. I'm fine cookin' without power for now but the tools in there are old and some of the stuff is gettin' rusty already.

[He considers this for a moment.]

For the tools and the sewing machine, we might be able to find those on the Skyway. Most homes would have them, right? So we could go into a home the next time we're out there.

Yeah. Or, if not actual knives, a whetstone or somethin' that can be used as one.

[There's a slight shift in her weight, shoulders coming up as she stretches.]

I haven't seen many houses that aren't completely fallin' down though.

Yeah, neither have I.

What, the Calamity?

... I'unno. Not somethin' I can really wrap my head around, y'know? Whatever affected here went out to like... a ton of different worlds.

Did... did you notice when you showed up that there were some of the steps from the entrance to the academy there... ?

You mean right before you got here?

[He means 'here' as in 'the Bastion itself.']

Yeah. Where you landed. Where... where the statues were.

[The statues she hates looking at, hates talking about, but can't ignore forever]

[He tries not to think about that day, actually.]

It's... like that... black hole stuff in space, y'know?

[Amazingly, Rin actually knows what she's talking about. Kind of. Chances are she read about it in a manga as opposed to a text book, but still.]

The Calamity exploded out, and then pulled everything it hit in.

So you think that's how we all ended up here? The Calamity sucked in pieces of our worlds, and we just happened to survive the trip here?

[It's surprisingly smart of Rin, and Bon actually sounds amazed. He's looking up at her too, so she can see that amazement pretty easily.]

... there was a manga that talked about black holes, 'fore you get all excited that I was hidin' some secret genius or somethin'.

[Because really Bon, your face.]

But yeah. I mean... not like we got any other explanation, right?

[Come on Rin, Bon actually thought you were hiding some kind of genius there. Now he's frowning again because he really shouldn't have expected Rin to be the smart one.]

I guess it's possible. It doesn't explain why everyone got turned to ash, though.

[this is why we can't have nice things, Bon]

Well ash would mean fire was involved some how, I guess. ... you're right, it really doesn't explain it at all.

We could just say 'a wizard did it.'

[Oh look a joke.]

[A wild joke flew in!]

Bon is just going to stare at Rin for a while. Then, ever so carefully, he reaches over and pushes her, trying to knock her over for missing the joke.]

[Rin just sort of... wobbled. And stared back at him.

Until her tail came up and bapped at his hand.]

[Oh whoops he'll just go ahead and try to grab that tail. Not to pull it (even though he really wants to), but just to keep her from hitting him with it again.]

Knock it off.

You poked me first.

[So long as he doesn't pull it, she's oddly ok with him holding on to her tail. The end is twitching slightly, the very end of that fluffy tip probably tickling his skin.]

[Originally it was just to stop any bapping, but now the movement has caught his attention, and he watches it for a moment, trying not to let the tickling bother him.]

It's fur.

[He was expecting it to be more like normal hair, for some reason.]

... no shit, Watson.

[Sherlock, Rin. It's 'No shit, Sherlock'.]

What the hell did you think it was?

I dunno, hair? It's not like I've ever seen a half-demon's tail before.

[He's never known a half-demon before Rin, even.

After looking at it for a moment, he's just going to go ahead and touch it, to see if it feels like fur too. No this isn't odd friends totally touch each other's tails all the time.]

And it's Sherlock, not Watson.

... oh.

[To both things. She hadn't even thought that others might think it was hair - it was her tail after all, she knew what it felt like when others didn't.

Also screwing up phrases like that was normal for her.

Whatever irritation she was feeling earlier melted out of her, and her shoulders went down while a content almost feline-like noise could be faintly heard coming from her.]

[See, Bon isn't stupid. He's very smart, and he's lived around pets before (cats mill around the temple all the time, for one), so when he hears what sounds like it could be purring he quickly drops Rin's tail as he jerks his hands away.]

--eh?

[See... Rin has only had to deal with Mephisto or Yukio yanking on her tail, and doing so to illicit pain or to drop her in the middle of some rage fit.

So. She actually has no idea that she makes that noise.]
