Day 71 :: action [OPEN]

Who: Bon and whoever comes by
Open: Open
When: Day 71
Where: in the Bastion, at various locations
What: Bon will be doing different things throughout the day, and he is ready for the bothering.
Format: action tagssss
Warnings: none as of yet

[In the morning, Bon will be meditating near the river. Anyone who comes near him can hear him chanting under his breath, but otherwise he will be not moving at all.

Closer to midday, he's at the farm, checking on the food that is growing and taking anything that's ready to be eaten over the the Distillery for Mireille and Rin to cook. He also takes a break at some point, and he can be found in the shade of a tree, munching on an apple.

In the afternoon, he's at the apartment buildings, trying to figure out a way to measure his window so he can make some better curtains and block out the constant sunlight. Sleeping isn't easy when there's no nighttime.

Besides those things, he can be found walking around, going to and from those various locations.

[After a long day- as he measures it, it's a bit of an arbitrary factor when it's constantly daylight- of work, Osahar really wants nothing more than to collapse in bed. But... he's also alert to his fellow apartment dwellers, as well.

Thus, when when he walks past the building and sees one of the kids- Bon, he can recognize the hair from a mile off- wriggling around his window while making odd hand motions, he's just curious enough to walk over and motion for Bon to open his window. Assuming that's done, he cheerfully asks his question.
] Something the matter?

Ah hah. [Finally, a problem he can deal with! It makes the engineer in him do a little happy dance.] I don't have a ruler, but I can measure it for you, that's not a problem. Mind if I ask why, though?

[Not human. Science.

He nods as he considers that, and then slips through the window- he'll want to measure it on the inside, just in case. Once he's in, he stares at the window and mutters.
] Measurement. Finger to finger.

[Then he holds one finger to each side of the window. As he does so, he speaks to Bon again.] That's a great idea, actually. I'm not used to all of this light- I guess you're thinking of curtains?

[He'll get a demonstration. His glasses emit a thin beam of light, overlapping the tips of his fingers, and then holographic measurements start showing up- meaningless to Bon, of course, since they were neither metric nor standard, but still.] That is a good idea. Think there's enough for all the taken rooms?

...oh yeah, clothes. [He'd forgotten that not everyone wore nano-engineered self-repairing clothing, and that this, then, was a real problem that they'd have to work with.

So, he quietly nods, considering that.
] How much fabric do we have to work with?

[A pause.] ...you know, I think we need to start making a list of things we need. Or that we will need in the future, like fabric, thread, tools...

Things are a little scattered right now, yeah. [That earns a wry expression from Osahar. He's had so much on his mind, between trying to get more shards and figure out what to do next, that some things have started to fall through the cracks. So many things to do, so little time.

Still, after a moment's thought, he muses out loud.
] My tech would make it easy to itemize what we have. Just scan and go. But having one place to store everything might be a good idea- assuming nothing happens to it.

Then again, having things more distributed means less work for any one person... [Ah, logistics. Osahar always wants to leave it to the civil engineers and there's never one handy when he needs one.]

Yeah... that's true. You've got a good head on your shoulders, Bon. [A slight smile at that. Maybe getting a central storage area would be a good thing. It'd certainly make for a good, convenient place for handling all of the salvage that they're getting out there, and if there are more people coming in, a central place for everything would be convenient.

He'd have to do a few more studies, test how feasible the idea was and run some risk/rewards analyses, but it might just be a good idea.
] Records-keeping shouldn't be too difficult, either.
