[day 187] she calls out to the man on the street, "sir, can you help me?" (closed)
Who: Hilda, Yukio, Rin (N, AZ, Anna, and Colin later)
Open: Closed
When: Day 187
Where: The Hospital
What: Goddammit, Hilda.
Format: action brackets!
Warnings: A very injured teenager and probably a lot of yelling at her when she's awake.
[ After all of the drama of the previous night, Hilda had learned of what had happened that day before she and N talked, and found out that his castle had appeared on the Skyway. Not just another part of Unova, but a part of Unova that held a lot of memories for N. Memories that ... she knew damn well weren't all good.
She still hurt from their conversation, but she understood now why he was acting the way he was. She still had no idea what to do to fix it, so she focused instead on something she knew she could do: She wanted to see the castle for herself. She had to. It was a something she didn't feel she'd have closure on unless she saw it.
She didn't tell anyone where she was going. She slipped out with Emboar early in the morning after feeding the Pokemon, headed to the Skyway so that the two of them could make their way to the Castle themselves.
Getting there wasn't the problem. It took a while of searching, but they did eventually arrive at the Castle just fine. Hilda had stopped, gazing wide-eyed upon the crumbled remains of a once proud-standing castle. She could hardly will herself to move any more than that ...
... And that was her mistake. Something had begun to move into the castle, and it wasn't happy with the trespassers.
Hilda didn't know what had happened. All she knew in that next moment was pain. Emboar cried out for his trainer as she fell, now bleeding from her head and scraped up and bleeding more on one side from falling and sliding from that attack. The blow to her head made it so she was barely conscious as it was. Emboar cried out for his trainer, and tried to charge at their assailant, only to be knocked back. Hilda was lifted, with the intent of being finished off, when Emboar got up and blew a flamethrower in their attacker's direction. Now caught on fire, it let go of Hilda (who didn't escape that without some burns herself), who fell to the ground. Emboar scrambled to lift Hilda into his arms, taking the opportunity to run for it while it was distracted with fire.
He ran, as fast as he could, worried for his trainer's life ... ]

[Colin grabs a convenient towel from nearby, and he bundles it up and bops her on the head with it.]
Bad Hilda. You know better than that.

Ow ...
[ She sighed, though, looking up at Colin from where she lay on the bed. ]
I was dumb.

[Colin puts a gentle hand on Hilda's head, mindful to avoid the headwound this time.]
The question is.. why were you dumb? What can I do to help this not happen again?

[ She looks at him seriously. ]
I wanted to see N's Castle for myself. I should have asked others to go with me. I didn't. It was just Emboar and I.
[ She might have been more stubborn about this whole thing before talking with AZ, but her talk with him cleared her mind a little bit. ]

[He looks back at her just as seriously.]
Yes, you shouldn't have gone with such a small group, but clearly, something made you feel like you had to.
What was that?

[ Hilda closed her eyes. ]
That place ... it's really important. It holds a lot of memories for both N and I.
[ More N than her, and the memories aren't all good. The moment she had heard it appeared on the Skyway, it explained exactly why N was in the mood that he was in.
But it wasn't enough for her, to just know it was there. She had to see it herself. She needed to see for sure that it was there, and the state it was in. ]
I had to see it for myself. I guess for closure or something, whatever closure it provides ...
[ The definitions of closure regarding that place for her and for N are very different, though, and she knows it. ]

[He can't say it's impossible, but probability seems to be running against those odds.]
no subject
I already knew it was upsetting N. Seeing the place for myself wouldn't have proven that any more than it already had.
no subject
Just remember, Hilda. There are people that care about YOU too.
Speaking of... would it be okay if I got one of your shirts for Zorua?
She misses her mother, and something that smells like you would really help calm her down. ... You might not get the shirt back, though.
no subject
Yeah, go ahead. Zorua probably needs it more than I do right now anyway.

[He looks at he for a moment longer, then he smirks.]
Just don't let the end of the world end your sense, huh? You're still alive. N's still alive. Your pokemon? Still alive. There's plenty of stuff here to live for, still.

[ She didn't ask for more help, when she should have. She knows damn well now how stupid that was. ]
