Roxas has not been around the Bastion much the past few days. In fact, he's been spending a rather unhealthy amount of time out on the Skyway.

But today he's designated as a rest day, sort of. He's still out and about within the Bastion's walls, and if he's seen you go out on the Skyway before or if he decides you look like a person who might sometimes go, he may approach you with a particular request.

Alternatively, you might catch him spending some time with the chocobos. They're way too big to hide in anyone's hair, but from the anxious way they're nuzzling at his shoulder, they probably want to.

"It's okay, guys. We'll find him."

Eavesdropping is a terrible habit, one that Ryu doesn't try to entertain. Still, Roxas is someone he hasn't seen in quite some time, and furthermore someone who made a pretty good impression upon first meeting him. "Is someone missing?" He asks with a bit of concern.

He figures there'll be time for pleasantries later, but given how few of them are still left, finding whoever this is would prove far more important in his mind.

Roxas looks up at him from patting one of the chocobos on the head.

"Axel," he answers. He's past making any effort to hide his worry. "I don't- know if you met him, but he's got bright red hair, he stands out."

Ryu nods, bright red hair should be good enough to track someone down, especially someone he won't recognize.

"Don't worry. If I find him, I'll be sure he knows you're looking for him." He answers with a smile, hopefully giving Roxas a little reassurance that Axel may still be okay. "How long has he been gone?"

"About a week." He frowns even as another of the birds nuzzles at his hand. "He should know we're all worried about him by now."

"If he's been gone that long, I'm sure there must be a good reason for it." At least that's how Ryu figures it, not knowing Axel in the slightest.

"Where have you looked so far?"

"...I hope so." He's thought of all sorts of scenarios over the past week. Could Axel have found someone else from their world? Maybe he didn't want to take them through a portal with him and they were really far out.

But, couldn't he have at least come back for a minute to let them know?

"Um, I've checked what's left of Twilight Town a few times, and along the wall and the plains..."

"Can he fly?" He asks, figuring it a reasonable question. It's possible Axel could have covered that much more ground if he has the capability of doing so.

"At least that narrows things down a little."

Roxas blinks, before realizing it is a reasonable question. They just haven't flown except in Neverland. "No, but he can- teleport. So checking places... it's easy for him to show up somewhere I've already looked, if he's been there before."

"Well, good thing I can cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time!" He answers with a smile. At least this time his power can be used without a destructive end.

"Don't worry, Roxas. If he's anywhere out there, one of us is bound to find him."

He smiles back a little, because he appreciates Ryu trying to be optimistic about this. He just wishes it were a little more contagious.

"Yeah. One of us'll have to find him."

Bon has definitely gone out on the Skyway many times, and he has even gone on a couple of the core hunts. So when Roxas approaches, he will stop what he's doing so he can listen to what Roxas has to say. He's assuming it is something serious, given how Roxas looks.

Even after all this time, Roxas is still awkward about approaching strangers, but there's something more important than that here. Anyway, he thinks this guy is a friend of Rin's, so he must be pretty okay.

"Um, I know we haven't really talked, but- could I ask you a favor?"

At least he doesn't look as intimidating as he did back home? Since he's stopped being as angry all the time.

"It's fine," Bon said honestly. They really needed to help each other out here to survive, and Bon didn't mind helping others when he could, "What do you need?"

Anger is not actually as intimidating to Roxas as normalcy is. With angry people you just get angry right back at them and it kind of works itself out. Sort of. Y'know, with punching and stuff.

"If- you go out on the Skyway, could you keep an eye out for a friend of mine?"

Punching is definitely a good way to sort stuff out.

But once Bon hears what Roxas wants, he frowns. "Did someone go missing?"

"Axel," Roxas says, watching Bon's face for any recognition. "It's been- about a week since I've seen him."

'About' a week, like he can't pinpoint the day.

Axel. Bon hadn't really spoken with Axel, but he knew who he was. It was kind of hard not to know who everyone was, what with there being less than fifty people total here.

Bon nods, and he says, "I'll keep an eye out for him. But he can defend himself, right? In case monsters attacked him, or something."

Roxas nods. "He can fight, but... sometimes he's an idiot."

Although, with all his best friends accounted for in the Bastion, Roxas isn't sure what would prompt him to be an idiot in this case. It's not much of a relief.

Idiots Bon can understand. He's dating an idiot. He also knows that idiots can get lost really easily.

"If he can fight, then he's probably alright for now. Can you fight?"

Because if Roxas can, then the two of them could go out looking for Axel.

Roxas dated this idiot once. Unfortunately, it's really difficult for a Nobody to get lost when they can just open a portal home. Even Axel isn't stupid enough to forget that for more than a day. Something must have happened.

"Yeah, I can." He doesn't put together why Bon is asking though.

Xion was spending a lot of time out there too. Perhaps not quite as much as Roxas had been, but still a great deal. They weren't... always looking together though, something that concerned her, a little. They didn't have to of course but... It didn't help the feeling of isolation she sometimes got, knowing how different he was from the Roxas she'd known. Even if he was still her best friend.

Still, he was back, with the chocobos - just as she was wondering if she should dive out into the Skyway again. She hurried over, but his expression and posture was enough to tell the story.

"No luck?" she asked, voice full of concern.

Maybe they should have spent more time searching together, but in some ways, it was easier to search alone. If he was alone, then he couldn't see his worry reflected on her face. It was easier to fool himself into thinking everything would be all right.

After a week, it was starting to feel like fooling himself.

He looked over hopefully at Xion's approach, but her expression was enough to say she was just hoping for news out of him. He shook his head. "No. Not yet."

Some of the earnestness faded from her expression, into something more sad. It was hard on both of them really, but Roxas especially. Since they both remembered Vatheon, and everything that happened there.

She walked closer, reaching a hand up to try to pet the beak of one of the chocobos.

"We'll find him. He's... he's gotta be out there somewhere," she said. She only wished she felt as confident as she sounded.

The bird turns and nuzzles into her hand, trilling softly. Hard to say whether it's looking for comfort or trying to comfort her, but they're all like that right now, aren't they?

"Yeah. I'm- I'm really gonna slug him one once we find him. He should know better."
