Day 68 :: action [OPEN]
Who: Marie and anyone else
Open: Open
When: Day 68
Where: Throughout the Bastion
What: Marie finally does something about the strange wallet she found.
Format: Action
Warnings: Probably nothing.
[ Marie had put the wallet and papers associated with it off to the side when they'd gotten home, distracted for the next few days. She only just remembers it today, and realizes that it might be a little bit helpful. It was probably nothing, just some artifacts of a broken world, but she's got nothing better to be doing right now.
So for now, she's taking it along and chasing people down. There's some foreign money and other things, ID and forms that she can't read. Maybe someone else could? It's not important beyond satisfying her curiosity, so she won't interrupt anyone that's too busy. Those that aren't, she'll approach. ]
Hey, could I borrow you for a second?

[ She smiles, and holds up the papers as well as the wallet. Inside, there's also a photo of a man, woman, and a girl. ]
I picked these up the other day, and I'm hopeless with foreign languages.

Osahar scrutinizes that. It's no language that he recognizes, naturally, but he's had experience guessing the import of unknown language- it's a survival trait in a universe where humanity has fragmented into millions of different languages and societies. So then, what is this? From the formatting, from the numbers, the organization...]
I can't read it, but if I was to guess, it seems like identification papers of some kind. Have you asked any of the people who came from the same world as the Bastion? They might know, if this came from their world. Otherwise... I guess you'd just have to ask around. Sorry.

[UNIVERSAL CONSTANT, MISS MARIE, YEP.]</small.

[ She brightens up pretty quickly. ]
Ah well, thanks anyway. I'll keep checking around.

So... you found that on the Skyway just before you found me? Did... any of the statues nearby match the people in those pictures?
no subject
What is that, Miss Marie?

I didn't look around too closely, but maybe I should have. They- you know they aren't statures, right?
They're the dead.

[ She's obviously steeling herself to talk about this. She's a death scythe, and she tells herself that she can handle it. Denial wasn't the best mechanism at a time like this. ]
I can't imagine they're anything else. When I first arrived, I saw my meister.
[ Whoops, she sounds a little ragged towards the end of that, but she pulls it back together quickly. ]
It was a cataclysm, Osahar. Why would anyone construct a statue of him?

[ She offers her findings. ]

[ Marie smiles warmly, handing things over. It's all in that odd foreign language, but the formatting makes some of it clear as to what it must be-- an ID, a scrap with what is obviously an address, and a picture of what is probably a three person family. ]

What the hell happened to those idiots?

Especially with magic. Always with magic.
Still, one thing does catch his attention. Marie's normally fairly in control, so the momentary pain in her voice draws his attention. So, gently, Osahar asks the obvious question.] Your 'meister'?
