PAARTHURNAX!

[The urgency in Colin's tone was evident. He'd taken another bath to get the blood off him, but that scent was unmistakable.]

I need you, we need to hunt!

[Now that Colin had enlisted his air support, it was time to get a strike team. He had no snacks for bribery this time, just an eerie look of serenity on his face as he headed to the monument to track down some heavy hitters. He snagged his amplifier from his lab, so that when he speaks, he's not going to be hard to hear.]

HEY! I need our big guns out here, post-haste! We've got a mission, search and destroy time!

[Dare you approach?]

[As if Paarthurnax needs to smell Colin to know blood's been spilled. He's already done a sweep near the entrance to the Skyway once everyone had left, taking in the familiar smell of pain and death.]

[He's already waiting on one of the small hills, drawn up as properly as he can be and his eyes settled on the shards of land in the distance.]

Name it, then.

[He doesn't ask if things have been settled with Rin and Night- Colin wouldn't be here if they hadn't been in one way or another.]

Search and destroy huh?

[Raimundo walks toward the guy with the megaphone-thing. The --Xiaolin-- Heylin Dragon isn't going to pass this up. He spoke with Rin after it all happened and it isn't hard to guess what they might be hunting.]

Mind if I tag along?

We've got a figurative wild dog out there that needs to be apprehended or destroyed. I'm not picky about which, in fact, I've got a preference for the latter.

[He approaches Paar's hill without hesitation.]

I'm suspecting it's a Gasfella, I haven't had a chance to debrief Rin yet, but all the signs are pointing to something big with a bladed weapon. That limits our targets considerably.

Are you willing to be my air support? When this thing dies, I don't want it to have time to wonder what's happening to it.

Hey, fresh-meat. I haven't had the opportunity to commit your name to memory yet.

[Colin grins at Raimundo.]

If you can dish out the damage and have no problem doing it, I want you along. ... But we're not killing everything. We have one target. Maybe, MAYBE a small group.

You good for that?

Greh.

[There's no hesitation, just the steady rhythm that Paarthurnax's voice always seems to hold. But there's no mistaking the predatory way his body shifts.]

Once you know of the creature, tell me and I could find it for you in short time.

[Out of everyone in the Bastion, he knows he's the best suited for going long distances the quickest.]

[Raimundo grins back at Colin.]

Name's Raimundo. And if you want damage, I can give it. I am the Xiaolin...or Heylin Dragon of the Wind. I got the skills. Just tell me what to hit and I'll hit it hard.

[Rai knows he isn't as hard a hitter as Clay is but he can dish out the punishment. After all, he did take out Kimiko and Clay at the same time with his element. It's be easier if he had some Wu but he's fresh out of those. He'll make due though.]

[Ippo heard Colin's shouting from the hospital room and seeing Rin still asleep, nodded and got up to leave. His eyes were gaunt and his jaw felt stiff...he had a feeling he knew what this was all about, but he'd reserve judgement until he was there to ask questions. He made a quick pit stop at his room to pick up his gauntlets, but as soon as they were strapped on, he was off towards where he'd heard Colin's voice; with his brisk pace, it didn't take long for him to get to the monument.]

Count me in.

We're going to the site of the attack first. That will get us the rest of the evidence we need to get the right target.

And I'm bringing a group. This thing took down two demons, it's... not going to go down without a considerable fight. Or a lot of firepower at once. I'll want you in the sky to cut off its escape. I doubt it will stay to fight if it sees us coming.

Its about the two girls - Rin and Night, isn't it?

[ The wind on the Bastion hadn't given her more than a few bits of voice, a snippit of a girl broken in another's arms.

It was enough to have Chime flying to visit Rin, and for Tris to be crawling with some minor lighting. She has a very special spot of hatred for things that kill people - particularly those that she knows. Things that shake up her home, whether its somewhere she's staying - or all they have left. ]

I can help with both. And I can ask if Rin would like it to rain or something, because sometimes feeling like the sky is crying too makes people feel better.

[Considering the likelihood of the target of the search and destroy mission? Oooohhhhh yes, Alucard is most certainly approaching, and for once looking... rather distinctly like he's more angry than his expression alone is showing.]

I wish to join the hunt.

Ippo, fantastic. Looks like you'll get to put those gauntlets to the test, eh?

[He nods gratefully at Ippo.]

I'm going to want to leave sooner as opposed to later, but we're not going to be leaving just yet. I need to get a little more information before we strike. I don't want to hit the wrong target and make an enemy we don't need.

Believe me... if we hit the wrong guy doing this, our posse is going to have a posse coming after it. And that's gonna be bad news for all of us.

Raimundo? Good name, good title. Sounds strong, and you sound like you've got the confidence to back it up.

I'm glad to have you along.

[He gives a warm, almost predatory thumbs up.]

We'll have this thing down in no time flat.

If it is small enough to fit inside my maw, then I can guarantee a short fight, Wahliikjun.

[And Paarthurnax has yet to find anything on the Skyway that can't fit into his mouth to some degree, which is always inevitably too much for whatever prey makes the misfortune of coming across him.]

Yet I shall patrol the skies for you. How many will you take, then?

Tris, good. I was hoping to have some force-of-nature level firepower on this one.

[He nods, and then he smiles a little sadly.]

I'm grateful for the help, and... I suspect Rin will be grateful for it too. She's been through too much, and this... Well. I don't know if I have the words to say more.

And I wish to have you along.

[Colin nods at Alucard.]

With apologies for the speciesist generalization... vampiric power is an object of horror stories for a reason, and I will be glad to have that turned on our enemy.

This... creature needs to be taken down hard and fast.

Who knows. We might even be able to bring back a few trophies.

[Raimundo returns the thumbs up with one of his own. Time for some action. It was about time. Too bad it has to happen like this though.]

If you can eat it safely, I will be glad to give you the meal.

But I don't want us underestimating this thing. I... worry that Rin and Night may have made that mistake.

[He shakes his head and frowns.]

I'll have to talk with everyone to let them know that the lightning is me. Or to stay within a certain distance if they want to avoid the rain, winds, or whatnot. I can't see turning the Skyway into quicksand-like substances helping in this situation.

[ Yeah. Just- ]

Everyone, to arrive here, has been through more than they ought to. To lose someone close while here?

[ Tris shakes her head, loose braids fizzing with lightning. ]

Chime is staying with her.

[Ryu had gotten into a particular habit since coming to the Bastion. He would never really call himself a religious type, but he found himself visiting the memorial at least once during any particular day and offering a small prayer to the god of his people. Ladon may not have been able to hear it at all, but he felt that he should at least pay his respects to his people.

It's on his way home that he hears Colin's voice.]

What do you need?

I have eaten their kind before. I have merely gained... indigestion.

[Oily things.]

I have survived for many years. [He stretches out his wings, showing off the tattered state of them and the scars that line his scales.] I will not fall so easily.

[Normally, Ippo was soft spoken...a kinder individual was hard to find, but here, in this moment, that kind man was gone. In his place stood someone with a fire burning in his eyes, a man who looked downright ready to kill...but Ippo knew that he couldn't jump the gun on this; Colin was right, they didn't need any more enemies...he didn't want to strike randomly either. There was only one head he wanted, and it was the one who'd killed Night.]

I understand, but when we do find it...I'm gonna use these to tear it to shreds. I don't wanna be able to recognize it.

When we do find it, I will hold it steady for you to put your lasers through as many times as you want.

[Colin punches his fist into his palm.]

The right target is going down, and going down HARD.

[Hope you didn't want Colin to try to talk you back from the edge, because that's not anything he'll be doing here.]

I want its weapon or its cloak, yes.

We need to bring something back to show Rin that the threat is ended.

No need for apologies. It is true that none but the foolish wish to be the target of a vampire's ire.

...And that creature has earned mine.

We'll have time for a briefing on the way. We're making a stop at the site of the attack to get more information.

[Colin nods in understanding at that.]

I don't relish having to inflict violence on anything... but right now, this thing is a rabid dog that's putting is all at risk. It needs to be dealt with quickly.

I'm glad that Chime is with Rin... Rin needs all the support she can get.
