[Day 160] (Closed, then Open.) An arrival with a familiar face.
Who: Ryu and Ryu, then anyone in the Bastion.
Open: Closed for the first part, open for the second.
When: Day 160, mid-morning/afternoon.
Where: On the Skyway and later in the Bastion proper.
What: A new arrival with a few questions.
Format: I'll match!
Warnings: Nothing I can think of, but will change as needed!
The sensations hit him all at once, startling Ryu awake. It was much colder now, there was no hot sand swirling around. As he rises to his feet, the sight that greets him is completely unexpected. No fragments left of Myria station, or any trace of the Desert. Where could he be? About the only thing he found himself recognizing were the tattered remains of his tent. It looked as though it had been scorched beyond repair, and the others were nowhere to be seen.
"Nina? Rei? Momo?" As much as he hopes to hear any of them call back, nothing comes. Okay, now he's far more worried. His friends wouldn't just go off and leave him like this. He knew Myria said things might happen if she were no longer able to hold back the Desert of Death, but this isn't anything like Ryu expected. After a moment, it hits him that he's no longer on solid ground, but floating somewhere high in the air. "What's holding all this up?" His question is to no one in particular. Myria Station did have structures like this, but even some of them were still attached somewhere.
Farther off he could make out the shape of a building or two. Wherever they were, it looks far more stable than anything else he's seen so far. Ryu figures it his best interest to go towards it. It might be safer, and there might be someone or something that can tell him what's going on, or how to get home. If only he could prepare himself for what those answers are.
At any rate, it wouldn't help him to linger on these thoughts when he should be learning about the Bastion and the people on it. There would be time for mourning his lost friends when he's found a place for himself among these people.

Upon arriving at the Bastion, it was a lot for him to take in. Everything gone, and he had no idea as to what exactly caused this Calamity. Myria's greatest fear was always that of the Brood's unstoppable power. Elder Jono and the others in Dragnier did say if they did try to fight, the world would be destroyed. Though from what this other Ryu has told him, nobody really knows how the Calamity happened. Part of him is afraid that wielding the power of Infinity might have had something to do with it, but for as powerful as it was, he doubted even Infinity would have such far reaching consequences.
At any rate, it wouldn't help him to linger on these thoughts when he should be learning about the Bastion and the people on it. There would be time for mourning his lost friends when he's found a place for himself among these people.

Hello otherme owo
Worried, he runs towards it, careful to not run into some monsters, but they seem to be gone. What's more concerning is that he can sense something that feels... almost like an Endless, but definitely not one. Something that's been near one? It's hard to tell, but when he sees the approaching figure, he stops dead in his tracks.
"... Wh... at?"
It's him. Or... it looks kind of like him, but different clothes, and a little bit of a different build. But it's definitely the same face, and the same hair.
c:
"Where are my friends? And where am I, for that matter?" The important questions first, anything else comes much later. He's curious about why this guy looks so much like him, but he feels as though that can wait.
"This doesn't look like it is anywhere near the Desert."
no subject
"... They're gone. I'm sorry. Something called the Calamity hit a lot of different worlds. The path that connects all of these pieces of different worlds is called the Skyway, and there's a place called the Bastion where we're all staying. So no, it's not near the Desert."
no subject
"So, what... Am I dead or stuck in another illusion? One last shot from the Goddess?" While his words are indeed layered with suspicion, something feels off to Ryu. He doesn't feel the sort of malice he felt from Teepo or Myria during their encounters. It's entirely possible he's telling the truth, but he'll need to calm down a little before being able to listen.
no subject
"You're not dead. This isn't an illusion. And... well. If you look hard enough you might find them... but they're just going to be ash statues. No one really knows how we survived and others didn't. I'm really sorry..."
no subject
"I have a few ideas on how I survived." He mutters, though likely loud enough for Ryu to hear, then returns his voice to its normal volume. "This place you were talking about, the Bastion. Is that it off in the distance? How many people are there?"
Maybe one of them there could tell him more about this Calamity business. Further still, there might be a chance one of his friends are still alive and already there. They all had their own particular knack for faking death out. "Maybe you can tell me if you've seen them while we're walking. I'm Ryu."
no subject
Hang on a minute, Ryu has to count on his fingers. He's not good with math. Eventually he just gives up trying to count because he runs out of fingers and loses track.
"... I don't know. A lot. Over fifty?"
But when the other says something else, his eyes widen. "But... Ryu's my name..."
Two people with the same name? Is that even something that can happen?

There were a lot of details from the mural he recalls. A winged woman, much like Nina, and a woman with a snake body for her lower half, whom he came to know as his ally Deis. It could be possible that this other Ryu might just be the one from the mural but it still feels fairly unlikely.
That battle would have been hundreds upon hundreds of years ago from Ryu's perspective. The only thing that throws this idea off in Ryu's head is the fact that the other Ryu seemed to have no idea what he was talking about with any mention of the Goddess.

There's a brief flare of anxiety, but Ryu didn't seem concerned when he talked about meeting his Other. It probably doesn't work the same way as him and Sora.
Anyway that's not the sort of thing you start a conversation with. He certainly never appreciated strangers bringing up Sora with him first thing. So he just approaches the guy and offers a tentative smile.
"Hey. You're... new here, right?"

The other Ryu's story is still as much a mystery to him. Knowing a different Nina, but then also knowing Momo? Momo would have never left something like that out from telling Ryu, that much was certain. How would he have come to know her, then? Momo always stuck around the plant before meeting up with him again, and she was with him when everything went up in the Calamity.
It didn't make much sense no matter how he tries to figure it, but his chain of thought is broken by Roxas' approach. He has no idea who knows the other Ryu, and is pretty certain things will be fairly confusing before they figure it out.
"Huh?" It takes him a moment, but Ryu doesn't want to seem unfriendly. "Yeah. I just came off the Skyway this morning." He explains with a sheepish smile, absentmindedly letting his fingers flick and play with the dangling end of his scarf, a nervous habit. "Sorry, it's all a lot to take in. I'm Ryu." He pauses, chuckling softly. "That's going to get a bit confusing, isn't it?"
no subject
He blinks in surprise at the introduction, though, and forgets to offer his in return. "You guys have the same name?"
no subject
His suspicions were dwindling about anything malevolent, figuring if the other Ryu was planning something sinister, he likely would have done it out on the Skyway rather than bringing Ryu back to the Bastion.
no subject
"Ryu doesn't- know what's going on either?" he finishes instead.

"Maybe- you're from different versions, of the same world. There's a girl here named Rin, she's almost exactly like a Rin I knew in the world I came from, only he was a boy." He scratches his head. "I guess it's pretty weird to think about."
no subject
"Is what he said true? About all the dragons? It's really safe here?"

It's what made her double-take a little. She was fairly sure she'd seen someone - and not Saïx - walking around with blue hair, but she didn't... something was different. Maybe. She wasn't sure.
Still, it was that confusion and curiosity that made her speak up. "Are you looking for something?" she asked.
no subject
With new people come new customs for greeting each other. He wasn't sure what would have been considered proper within the Bastion, so he settles for a polite wave. "I'm Ryu. Well, one of them, anyway. Sorry, it's still a bit confusing for me too."
no subject
"My name's Xion. I only just got here too," she admits, with a slightly nervous smile, "But I've been looking around the Bastion a lot. I can show you where everything is, if you want."
no subject
"Either way, any company is good company as far as I'm concerned."
no subject
"Where have you been so far?" she asks. Probably all the main areas, by the sounds of it...

It's okay, he's good with kids.
no subject
"Well... I guess we could go look at some of the other buildings. Most of them are to the east and west," she comments, "Um... is there anything you wanted to see?"
