Day 138 // Open (and obviously backdated)
Who: Zulf and/or Zia PLUS YOU
Open: Open
When: 138
Where: Just entering the Bastion
What: Two Ura strangers arrive... Strangers to the people, at any rate, but the Bastion itself knows them quite well.
Format: Whatever
Warnings: None
Around midday, two new arrivals show up in the Bastion. Well... depending on your definition of "new". There's certainly a kind of look in their eyes as if they recognize the Bastion, but they both seem fairly surprised about something. Anyone who's gotten to know the native NPCs will be able to recognize that both the man and the young woman are Ura- it's the dark eyes, dark hair, and that bright clothing. In his hands, gripped tightly, is a Fang Repeater that looks out of place with him. In her palms, held uncertainly and far away from her, is a bright red War Machete.
They speak together in low voices for a short while, making quite a lot of hand gestures to various parts of the Bastion. The longer she stays and takes things in, the more the young woman seems to recover, eyes getting brighter and stance a little less uncertain. The man is quite clearly a bit more tense and certainly more suspicious. The pair seem to bicker for a short while before coming to an agreement. The young woman starts to set off... before rushing back to hand the machete to her friend. As the girl starts to go about the Bastion, the man sighs and heads immediately in the direction of the shrine without a sliver of indecision of where he's going.
Feel free to run into Zia exploring the Bastion, or Zulf either on his way to or already at the Shrine.

I can't use that name.

[Is this an inside joke he's not aware of or]

[He starts to put out his pipe and have it ready to put away.]
Over forty people... I suppose I should get to know them all, even if only names to faces.

[Rin nods. Seeing Night again was like a miracle come to life, and it was thanks to them.]
Well... I can take you to see them at least? Maybe start there? ... we can think of a name for this little one later.

[It's said more to the Squirt than anything, who gets one last pat from him before he stands up.]
Thank you for treating me kindly and... honestly. [Even if you did break his brain like five times in one conversation, god damn Rin]
no subject
Didn't see any reason not to. Hell, you deserve to know, maybe more than anyone else here...
[And she wasn't going to lie to him, either.]
no subject
[And don't you worry, little guy, he'll come up with a good name for you later too.]
no subject
Mmn... it takes time. And I'm still not really... "settled".
no subject
[It is going to take him longer to come to terms with that than what the deal is with the Bastion.]

[She lets out a sigh at that. It doesn't help that so many of them are young. Go on, Zulf, guess how old she is.]

Perhaps the more you learn about this place, the less it will seem so.. foreign.
no subject
Eh... I already said, I ain't smart. Learnin' ain't my strong suit.

[If... that makes sense...]
no subject
[Obviously not enough sense.]

Does it make a bit more sense now?

[She's still not sure if it's something she wants to do. She's already been feeling a near painful disconnect from her old life, from the life she had even before the academy. She turned her back on the church years ago, and now that it's not even present in the background of her life she's been having pangs of regret for so many things.
She doesn't want to forget that in favor of accepting this new life in another world she never asked for.]
What about... what about my life before? In Assiah?
no subject
That's how I dealt with moving to Caelondia.

[Obvious answer for an obvious question.
Maybe, though...]
I guess I could try. I ain't the best student, though...
