Second Word :: Day 119
Who: Paarthurnax and anyone who decides to talk with him
Open: Open
When: Throughout the day of Day 119
Where: By the river and apartments
What: An old dovah decides to spread his ways.
Format: Any
It is no secret by now that every "morning", Paarthurnax takes to the air and heads to the Skyway. It's actually probably hard to ignore it- you know, with the sound of giant wingbeats and the distinctly dragon-shaped shadow which passes over the Bastion. It's not a very long trip and, while Paarthurnax himself doesn't exactly explain them, the Pecker feathers in his jaws usually say enough.
Today, however, anyone paying attention might notice that the old dragon takes a bit longer than usual to return. Perhaps an hour over when he usually returns. There's no reason for alarm, because he comes back eventually... Just with a large slab of rock clutched in his talons. The weight of it means he moves a bit slower than usual, but he makes sure not to damage anything with it before landing the rock not too far from the river. It takes some work to force it into the earth so that it can stand upright, and some more work still to adjust it with his head so that it stands straight... But soon enough, there's a rock with some symbols carved onto it. Coincidentally, Paarthurnax's talons seem to be a bit more dull...
Paarthurnax himself is quite content as he looks over the rock, more or less the size of a wall and with jagged edges.

"This is a good place to start, then. The alphabet is a simple thing."

He smiles up at Paarthurnax a little, and goes over the characters with his hand.
"I guess it'd be hard to write on paper with how big you are..."

His dull claws begin to sink into the earth and move with purpose, something Paarthurnax seems to manage with a surprising amount of grace considering things. When he's done, he shuffles back to reveal three particular characters written in the dirt.

It's not great, but it's passable.

"This will always be here as reference, should you need it."

He considers his own thoughts for a moment, and then looks back up at Paarthurnax. "... Can you tell me more about yourself? Like... things you like to do, food you like to eat..."

"I meditate often on the Voice and to calm my own nature. I inquired to the state of the world, now and then, but mostly the stories that were told. You can learn more of the state of the world by what the bards say." As for food? He's never been picky, venturing down in the cover of Skyrim's night and snatching whatever roamed the plains and was far from civilization. "It has been some time since I have had mammoth flesh.."

That seems kind of sad, grandpadragon.

Paarthurnax makes the winged equivalent of a shrug. "I suppose I am content when flying. Being able to do so freely is... pleasant."

He looks over at the stone again, thinking. "I wonder how many people here don't know how to write. We could all have lessons together."

"I should probably get these over to the distillery so they can be cooked. If you ever want some fish though I'd be happy to catch some for you."
