Day 115: a breath of fresh air
Who: Ryu and everybody.
Status: Open
When: Day 115, in the 'afternoon'
Where: The Bastion
What: A new arrival, still somewhat dazed, tries to get used to his surroundings.
[Once things have been (somewhat) explained to Ryu and he's been gotten settled, he decides to explore his surroundings. The area is small, but from everything he's been told he's going to be here a while.]
[He's not used to settling into an area for a long time.]
[That though alone is enough to get him out and moving. Ryu moves from area to area a little lazily. His sword is still at his side, and he still looks a little bit dazed, but it's not as bad as it was, at least.]

Ah, krosis, young one. I had thought this space empty when I had entered the water.

[Something in his heart seems to sing in response - it's a dragon, definitely. He approaches the other with a small smile.]
Hello. You're... you're a dragon too, aren't you?
no subject
That is correct. I am Paarthurnax. What of you, goraan gein?
no subject
My name's Ryu. I'm the Yorae Dragon. ... Or half of it. Paarthurnax... is that your name or your title?
no subject
[A low rumbling noise from deep in his chest.]
It is both, at least in the language of our kind. I have also been known by other titles- Grandmaster, Lieutenant, Wuth Gein, but Paarthurnax is my true name. Tell me, Dreh hi lost faal Thu'um?
no subject
I... I don't speak that... though I sort of get what you mean.
[He reaches out to touch Paarthurnax gently, eyes wide and a bit wondering. Even if he were as old as Fou-Lu, he's very young for a dragon. He's only ever spoken to the Wind Dragon... but Paarthunax feels very different from him.]

I see. I asked if you could use the Thu'um, known as Dragon shouts to mortal beings. When two dov meet, it is courtesy for them to demonstrate their strength to one another.
no subject
Ah. I'm sorry. I can... I have an attack I can use that's -
[Hm. Shouts...]
... I wouldn't want to hurt you, though. But... I have an ability that's a bit like shouting... that's how it feels when I use it, at least.

Dreh ni uful. Do not worry. I may be old, but I am dovah. You should know we are a resilient race. [He nudges Ryu's palm fondly.] These things must be done properly. Let us travel to the wide path of earth right outside this haven, so that we do not disturb the others who inhabit it.
[Setting someone's house on fire by accident is indeed something they should avoid.]

When two dov meet for the first time, the eldest speaks first. Are you ready?

[Paarthurnax has a preference when it comes to the Thu'um, preferring Yol Toor Shul, but there's no telling for right now how fireproof Ryu is. So, for now, he will go with something a bit more basic. He rears himself back with a deep breath before his jaws open wide and words can be heard, filled with power-]
Fus Ro DAH!
[...So, no setting on fire, but... Ryu might find himself being forced through the air. Unrelenting Force has a habit of doing that.]

[... You have not met a great conversationalist, Aoi. Sorry.]
itt: bullshit google knowledge about how kanji work
It's nice to meet you, Ryu! Ryu, Ryu... Umm... [She puts a finger to her palm—it's a memory trick; write down a person's name three times on your hand to remember it—and then stops, head tilted.] What characters do you use to spell that?
stupid dragon alerrrrrt
[He's. Not very good at writing or reading.]

[Meanwhile Aoi, missing the point entirely.]

...Does that ring any bells? Maybe I should get some paper!
