Warnings: Noop? At nearly three feet long she is itty and curious - not nearly as terrifying as a full grown anklegator, though here's a picture for reference! I imagine she'd grow into the scales...? Kaoru is trying to discourage her from digging within the Bastion in case it collapses or something.

[the observant of you may have noticed a small horn sticking out of the ground - about seven inches high or so. You may have caught it following along behind you, drawn to the vibrations of your footsteps. Or perhaps making its own way around the Bastion, occasionally coming to a clumsy stop against buildings before backing up and taking a different route. She's only three days old - and she loves this digging thing, but she gets lost sometimes.

But even if you miss the horn, you certainly won't be able to miss the furrows left behind, and if you look you might catch a hint of golden yellow scales amidst the dirt she is churning up.]

[Rin hadn't really noticed the horn yet, or any other appearance of the anklegator, but the tracks were certainly hard to miss.

More than once she tripped over them on her way around the Bastion for chores and other things, and after about the fifth or sixth time she finally stopped and let out a cry of annoyance.]

What the hell is this, mutant sky gophers?!

[At some point during Rin's wanderings, Tama-chan doubled back to find the interesting footsteps again. She's still not very good at judging how far away things are, though, so when Rin suddenly stops, Tama-chan doesn't.

That tap you feel on the side of your foot would be Tama-chan bumping into you.]

GYAAH!

[It's a good thing she's wearing heavy duty boots, otherwise that might have actually hurt a bit.]

Wh-what the fuck?!

[individuates]

[Tama-chan's too small to hurt anybody! And since her horn was up vertically she probably wouldn't have been able to impale you. But she can poke!

The little horn taps against Rin's boot again, once, twice, before she pops her head out of the ground, shaking off the dust and dry dirt like a dog would shake off water, jingling a little as she does so, thanks to the ribbon her mama tied in a bow around her neck.]

[Even so, she's still grateful for those boots that she managed to make it to the Bastion in. They've come in handy, both for Skyway runs and now for... getting poked by a horn.

... what.

That... is certainly a familiar lizard face staring at her, though much smaller than the one that tried to chomp on her several weeks ago.]

... uh.

[Auntie Rin-chan? Auntie Rin-chan, is that you?!

Pulling herself out of her shallow hole on stubby little legs and starts nuzzling against Rin's ankles, her tail swishing a little bit.]

... uhhh...

[No seriously what is this. And why is it nuzzling her?

She blinks a few times and crouches down, trying to get a better look at this... odd thing.]

[individuates]

[Tama-chan is Tama-chan and Tama-chan loves you and continue to nudge your leg in various places until you get it.

Think, Auntie Rin-chan! Who in the Bastion has access to cute ribbons and a propensity to prettify things?]

Ahh...

[Wait, wasn't there a weird large egg being toted around recently?]

... Ta... ma-chan... ?

[individuates]

[Yay, Auntie Rin-chan, you got it! Resting her head against your boot now and making contented noises]

[hellpyre]

Oh! Oh, it is you! I didn't even know you hatched!

[Waaaait...]

... you're one'a those things that tried to eat me.

[individuates]

[No, Auntie Rin-chan! Tama-chan likes eating meat but she doesn't like eating Aunties! She gives Rin's boot a gentle gnaw, but that's about it before she leans her head against it. No eating? See?]

H-hey!

[It's said with a laugh, though, as it sort of tickles in a weird way.]

Okay, okay, I get it. Y'know, you're pretty smart for a baby...

[individuates]

[makes a few happy chup-chup-chup noises, butting at Rin's ankles a little bit with the front of her nose. She definitely recognises compliments. Compliments are always nice. And Laughing Auntie Rin-Chan is nice too.]

Well... gotta say, you're one of the weirder things that's happened around here. But weird in a good way.

[And she'll actually... try to pet.]

[individuates]

[yes, Auntie Rin-chan, please pet. Petting feels nice. She'll stamp her stubby feet a little bit and attempt climbing, if you have bent down close enough, still making delighted sounds]

Erf...

[Well she's certainly not light for a baby, but that's to be expected given how big the adult one was.]

Careful, I'm still squishy and you've got big feet.

[individuates]

[Quietly leans her head against your knee. Sadface, Auntie Rin-chan. Sadface. Mama's been carrying her just fine! It's not Tama-chan's fault she's a little on the chunky side, it's not. And Mama keeps trying to make her walk places.]

[Her tail thumps quietly against the ground]

Okay, okay!

[Would you rather be picked up? Because Rin certainly is strong enough to do that with no real problems.]

[individuates]

[her tongue pokes out hopefully, the tail thumping picking up momentum a bit. Okay is good, right? Okay means Tama-chan is about to get whatever she wants?]

[hellpyre]

[Okay means Rin will humor your for a little while, Tama-chan.

By picking you up.]

Oof. You're already pretty heavy.

[Not that heavy is a problem for Rin, but the shape certainly makes things unwieldy.]

[individuates]

[Not heavy. Chunky. Oh, but it makes her so happy, yes it does! Though the way she's swishing her tail may not be conducive to easy carrying. You don't pick her up the same way Mama Kaoru does so she's trying to figure out the balance bit. Still though, making all the happy noises.]

[A little, yes, but Rin can't fault her for that of course.

There's a bit of shifting around until they're both in a position that satisfies the carried and the carrying.]

There. Good?

[individuates]

[waitwaitwait, if she wraps her tail under and around one of your supporting arms... there! She can rest her head against your shoulder! Just be careful of her horn, okay? It's not too sharp, but getting poked by it might be a bit uncomfortable]

[her tongue flicks out and against Rin's cheek, then withdraws]

Better.

[Rin smiles at that, then looks around]

I wonder where Kaoru even is... ?

[Bon notices it during his morning 'meditate by the river to clear your mind' session. It's kind of hard to miss the little horn tunneling around here and there.]

...the hell?

[The next time the horn draws close, Bon will lean over and poke at it, trying to figure out what it is.]

[individuates]

[the little anklegator stops her digging when she is poked, making a little grumbling noise. Keep doing that, Bon, and she might have to come out and play fight you.]

[SORRY he is curious. So he'll poke at the horn a couple more times.]

What is this thing?

[individuates]

[she pops her head out of the ground and butts her nose against his leg, jingling all the while, and with more grumbling noises. You're being annoying, Bon. So Tama-chan will be annoying right back.]

[blackblooded]

[Crona stands still and watches the little horn make its way across the yard, raising a row of dirt behind it. It knocks against a wall and stops, and Crona steps carefully forward and presses a hand against the horn, curious.]

[individuates]

[Owch. That one made Tama-chan's head hurt. But someone is stroking her horn and that makes it feel a bit better. She pops her head out of the ground, pushing toward the touch and making happy noises. She has a ribbon and a bell around her neck, so she's definitely not a wild creature.]

[blackblooded]

[Crona flinches backward, but doesn't run away.]

H-hello.

[A hand held cautiously out towards the small creature. Maybe it's friendly.]

[individuates]

[a little whine - why did you take your hand away from her horn, Crona? That was nice! Tries to reach Crona's outstretched hand from where she is, but it's too far and her head still hurts. She flops down on the ground instead. Tama-chan gives up.]

[blackblooded]

[Crona reaches out and lightly pets the creature on the head.

The pink-haired meister has a fondness for dragons, and anklegators are pretty dragon-like.]

[individuates]

[another slight whine, this one slightly more contented but still a little fussy, because she wants to lean into that hand but feels a bit too lazy to do it. Not that that stops her.]

[blackblooded]

You shouldn't fuss, little one. [But Crona keeps petting the anklegator.]

[individuates]

[clumsily pulls herself out of her shallow hole to get closer to Crona, because Crona is nice and petting is also nice. Her whine settles into a steady chup-chup-chup of contentment]

[blackblooded]

[Crona smiles, petting the little creature's back and sides.]
