In this world there's real and make believe | Day 341 [OPEN]
Who: N, Zoroark and anyone they happen to come across
Open: Open
When: Day 341
Where: All over
What: N seems to have a pressing question that needs to be answered
Format: Action
Warnings: N/A
[N was hardly a social creature. By nature and habit he really did keep to himself, and that had been even more the case following that awful trip to the Skyway. As soon as Hilda was out of the hospital and back home it was almost as if the green-haired teen had all but vanished.
And yet something had been on his mind, so much so that he finally did venture out of the Pokemon Daycare with Zoroark at his heels in a strange display of actual human interaction with the other residents of the Bastion.
Why?
Well. Even N knew that not everything you needed to know about something could be solely learned from a book and nothing else.
With that, he took to others who would hopefully know more than he did, starting the awkward conversation with a single question:]
What do you know about... marriage?

What do you know about... marriage?

Still, though, the question throws him for a complete loop - enough so that he accidentally ends up pulling on Komaru's fur and getting a very angry bark in response. ]
Aaaah! I'm sorry, Komaru, I'm sorry...!
[ Give him a few moments to soothe his poor Furfrou before he turns to look at N with the most exasperated, stupefied look he can muster... ]
Uh... why do you want to know?
no subject
Not that N can blame him. Even he's wincing at that accidental pull, hearing far more of Komaru's discomfort than Naegi was.]
I've read about them, but I'm beginning to understand that not everything important can be learned from books alone.
no subject
He pauses for a bit as he looks at N curiously, tilting his head. ]
Well, what do you already know about marriage, if you don't mind my asking?
no subject
N kneels down in front of the Pokemon and gently pets her snout, using his abilities to try and calm her further.]
Most of what I know has come from books at this point. Text only goes so far, though. The idea behind it, where it came from historically... those sorts of things hardly go in to the emotion and thought behind it.

Why are you asking me?
[And is this really the time to be talking about marriage, they're preparing for a probable attack??]
no subject
I'm asking everyone.
no subject
Well- what is there to know? It's marriage.
no subject
I understand the text-book definition of it. Even the origins of it from many different worlds at this point, including my own.
But I feel that there has to be more to it than what I've read.

Is that really something you ask just for general information?

Oh, hey N. Marriage, huh?
[He grins a little.]
Mawwiage. Twue wuv. That bwessed event...
[Yep, there's the Princess Bride pop culture coming out. And yes, that was the first movie he showed.]
Thinking of popping the question to Hilda?
no subject
N just sighs and shakes his head uncertainly, going for the last question asked.]
It's been on my mind since things have become more difficult here.
If we were back home, I don't think we would have had the chance to become as close as we are here.
[And now he fears losing it, be it by complete destruction of their home from outside forces or the much more likely event of one of them being killed.]
no subject
[He gives N a critical, appraising look.]
Is it something you're actually considering? Or is it something you feel obligated to do?
'Cause one of those is the wrong answer.
no subject
[Seriously, he wouldn't be like that.]

Hilda.

You seem happy. Did something good happen?

Maybe.
