Okay, so! Talking to one of the prisoners got me... A lot of useful information.

A big one is this: They're seeking cores to power a device that they claim is capable of reviving the dead. Where I'm from, that's doable, if expensive, but... It can also go horribly wrong. So it's something to be cautious of.

That said, it is a basis for some negotiation... Or at least for knowledge of what's going on, from their perspective.

Megaera was simply on her way home to the Library by now, and seemed to be in a better mood than before. She'd done something that, hopefully, would be useful.

Bother her? Talk about the ethical considerations of what she did? Thank her? Something else? Your call.

... I know it may seem that way, but it's better in the end. Something like that... it won't lead to good things for anyone.

I think so. It's mostly unknown in my world. It's not as if most people knew that machine other than a weapon.

It's not one. ... After I revived her, she... left. She didn't like that I'd used the lives of so many Pokemon to revive her. ... And I don't blame her now.

... But then, I was angry. Angry at her, angry at the war that had first taken her from me... and so I reversed its function. I used the leftover power and fired it at the battling armies. The war ended, but so did many lives, and Kalos as a result has had... fewer native Pokemon species than other regions.

Mm. I know. That amount of energy can just be... dangerous.

That depends. We've already seen the cores here do a lot of things... but if you put two or three of them together it might be enough to cause some serious damage. And we don't know how many cores' worth of power whatever caused the Calamity took. But if one core can bring in as much land as it did... it's easier to destroy than create.

We don't want that kind of power loose.

Exactly. That's what we're dealing with.
