Day 333 | CLOSED
Who: Rob, Tobias, Ippo
Open: Closed
When: Day 333
Where: Burstone Quarry
What: Shard run!
Rob had been thinking for a while of going back to the quarry; they'd found a ton of shards the last time, and his group at least hadn't had any major issues with monsters on that trip. It was far enough away though that going alone didn't seem wise though. He could've asked Colin, but Colin was so often busy and he felt like he shouldn't pull Colin away from his work. Then Tobias had offered to go with him on the Skyway, and Rob finally decided to ask him if he was interested. And then, feeling like another person was a good idea, he'd thought of Ippo, who seemed like a decent person despite them not interacting much. Thus the day finds our three heroes at the quarry.
Rob isn't wearing his bandages anymore, which means there's nothing hiding the scars he acquired from the disasterous trip to the Ura camp. The one on the outside of his right knee isn't particularly noticeable, and the notch out of his right ear can easily be overlooked (though once you notice it it's impossible not to see it), but the ragged, ugly scars on his left shoulder and left cheek are impossible to ignore. Also impossible to miss is that today he's not wearing a shirt, with nothing on his upper torso but his amulet, his glowing-eyed rabbit skull necklace, and the strap of the rather battered-looking leather satchel he has slung across his chest, the satchel being his newly-acquired bag of holding, currently mostly empty save for some potions and a few miscellaneous supplies. Rob's very white, with highly-visible tan lines from the tanktops he normally wears and a slight gut. It's not particularly attractive, but it could be far worse, and has actually improved in the months since he's arrived.
"So where do you guys wanna look first?"

Hmm...well, we should probably stick to the upper mines for right now. I don't think we should go too far in with just three people and we should find enough around in some of the tunnels.
[He didn't want to chance anything right now...especially not with wounds from recent events so fresh in everyone's minds.]

[His low light vision is a little better than a human's, but it's not much.]
<I'd be fine up top, but I don't think you guys would be that comfortable on the cliff sides. But I can morph a few things to get stuff out of rocks if we go underground.>

[Ippo might be able to handle himself but Rob doesn't have that much confidence in himself just yet. He looks between the other two.]
So look through the upper mines to start and you can perch on one of us for now?

[He gave everyone a nod and gestured to Tobias to land on his shoulder with a smile.]
If you want to, feel free Tobias. I've got plenty of shoulder to go around.
[A little levity never hurt anyone, right?]
no subject
<Okay. My vision might be a little better than yours, so I might be able to spot some stuff. Just... be careful. Narrow tunnels aren't great places to fight.>

[He pulls a lantern out of his satchel and lights it. This seems like a repeat of last time...
He'll let Ippo go first, since he's the one who'll be able to react fastest if something attacks them.]
no subject
[He was confident enough in his ability handle things in tight confines, it was just a matter of how many he'd have to fight at once.]
We can always hope things don't come to that though? Maybe we'll get lucky and nothing horrible will happen.
no subject
[At least he can manage to see better with the lantern light and keep watch for anything that might be coming their way.]
<If we need to dig stuff out, I have a morph for that... though you guys might want to stand way back.>
no subject
[Yup. Carrying the light like last time. ...He never did get around to making that flying magic lantern he was thinking of, did he?]
Is there any situation you don't have a morph for yet? From the ones you've mentioned or that I've seen you seem to have most of your bases covered.

[No more holes in anyone please and thank you, especially not on shard runs. They had enough hardships when it came to core runs to cover that quota, right?]
That's right, your powers are really versatile! You're probably the most well rounded person here.

[Mine tunnels are small, okay.]

[brb nerding out a bit here.]

<I have no idea, Rob. I've never played Pokemon, just heard of it a little and seen Marco play it when he was waiting for other people to get to the barn.>
no subject
[He shifts his gaze to Ippo.]
Did you hear about Pokémon before you came here too?
no subject
[Ippo wracked his brain...but nothing was coming up for him.]
No...that doesn't ring any bells. N-no pun intended!
[Boxing jokes even when he wasn't trying to make boxing jokes.]
I mean...I'm guessing it's a kind of game? What system did it come out for?
no subject
[He turns to look at Ippo a bit from his perch.]
<Yeah, it's for the Gameboy.>
