Day 318 [Open] nobody can save me now, no.
Who: Ryu and whoever finds him
Open: Open (though I'd like it all as one comment thread since that makes the most sense!)
When: Day 318
Where: The entrance to the Bastion
What: Ryu ran into something he shouldn't have - and that means bad news.
Format: Action
Warnings: ... Violence, possibly.
[It's gotten harder and harder to find shards. Fighting monsters is fine, but it takes a long time to gather any sort of big pile. Ryu's been trying to figure out how to get more shards, given that he knows the Bastion really needs them, so he's been wandering out further and further on the Skyway. His wanderings today have led him out towards the bog. He knows it's dangerous, but he just wants to scout it out for future trips.]
[But coming alone was a mistake. It's not that the creatures in the bog pose any real threat to him physically - none that he can see, at least. But the strange plants are trouble. He's seen the Swampweed and the Pincushions before, and he can dodge around them easily enough. It's the Lungblossom that makes him curious, and he approaches with his sword drawn. He gets a face full of fumes that makes him back up. Poison? No... it's not that. It's something else that clicks in his mind, just the right way to terrify him. He needs to transform. And he does, roaring a battle cry, but not to his usual form. He shifts into his Kaiser Dragon hybrid form and rips through the plant, shredding it.]
[Something tells him to leave, to get out of this place, and he does, turning and starting the flight back towards the Bastion. It doesn't take him long, and he lets out a guttural yell, intending on ripping and tearing every single living creature he can get his claws on. But after a few moments, something kicks in, and he stops at the bridge to the Skyway, just floating there and staring out at the scenery as if he's totally unfamiliar with it.]
[So now there's a floating monster, just glaring at everything in sight. He doesn't look like he's about to attack someone... but he doesn't seem in a rush to change back.]

when he comes to he's going to be so embarrassed.
YOU SHOULD BE MEANIEFACE
[Hilda ends up pinned underneath Shooter's back, which is probably less fun with Shooter twitching just a little after the fact. With what senses she still has about her, she struggles to roll off the other girl, to the side...]
[And the motion forces out a particularly nasty cough, bluish blood splattering on the earth next to them.
Yes, blood; apparently Ikuri's got it. The same color as her own eyes.]it's the eeeend of the world as we know it
I-I said we weren't going to attack ...
and i feel fiiiiiine
I lack a witty subject line. [/3?]
[Ikuri struggles to her feet, not bothering to wipe the fluid from her mouth and chin. Once more, a gloved hand reaches for Hilda, clasping the girl's shoulder in a strong grip...and pulling her back for real this time; slower for the injury, but unyieldingly firm.]
[No, young one, you shall not face him. If he can so damage me, you would be easy prey.]
icon keywords, maybe?
[There is...something about you. You no longer seem so eager to fight. In her world, it would not even be thought of to let a challenge such as yours go unanswered; you claimed first strike, and thus gave consent for the initation. Black★Rock Shooter should be bearing down upon you now.]
[...but she is no longer simply Black★Rock Shooter, is she? No. Ippo, too...made the claim before, about deciding who you were in this place: what choices one would make.]
[She looks at you and sees herself.]
Nobody's *fiiine*. HAIR is fine! [3/3]
[Almost leisurely, she takes aim at the creature...but she does not fire. Does not even build up a charge. Just wears this sort of pitying face as she looks back at you. Perhaps you are what I think you are, perhaps you are not...but I will give you one final chance. I do not want to do this if an intelligent mind thinks within you, but if I have to, I will pop a cap in your skull and put what's left of you to the torch.]
...
["Yield." She almost says it. A call for surrender, a demand however gently voiced: to cede victory to a superior combatant in lieu of termination. An offer of mercy, but with the full assertion that no more would be granted if the initial extension was refused.]
...Cease.
[And the cannon even lowers, just slightly. She does not want to win. Does not want to kill. Just wants you to stop.]
[Nevertheless...it is, on some level, the same basic idea: one way or the other, we're not having any more of this. You will stop, or I will stop you, and I am willing to put you down to do it. You present a danger to this girl that I do not intend to allow.]

[ Her voice lessens in strength as she trails off, watching Shooter carefully from behind her. The pain she felt within her was a little too much for her to continue standing. She was only a human, after all. Taking the brunt of someone else being rammed into her as hard as Shooter was rammed into her was something she couldn't have been expected to take without a ton of pain, and she was definitely feeling the pain. She fell to her knees, but kept her eyes on the beings before her.
Something within her felt that this creature didn't want to hurt them. He didn't seem like he could control himself. She wanted to help him ... ]

[... What did he just do? He hurt people - people that were just trying to help! He doesn't get up, just stays on his hands and knees, shaking from exhaustion and anger at himself. He can't control it. He still can't control it. At least this time it wasn't intentional, and he didn't kill anyone... but he still hurt them.]
[/?]
[that wasn't pleasant.]

[Strike, or withdraw. Your move.]

...Finished?
[did she just slip a barb at someone.
it may not even be the barb it looks - perhaps it's just the situation itself that she's expressing her feelings about.][Her attention switches to the girl now, and she turns away from Ryu.]
[done]
Help. [As in, I'm going to help you. She emphasizes with gestures to make sure Hilda gets the idea.]
...to Bastion.
[Because you either know that name or soon will, and in the former case, you might more readily trust that she's an ally.]
[Also if you don't say something-- she's already working on picking you up to carry you, and may well run back there with you, leaving Ryu behind.
She did reason, after all, that she saw herself when she looked at him - and is thus reasoning that if she leaves him to his own devices, he'll be just fine. Interference could hurt more than help, after all.]no subject
As they start moving away from Ryu, Hilda feels she needs to protest. ]
H-Hey, maybe we should help him, too ... I don't think it was his fault ...
[ Her protest was weak, though, just as her body was. She didn't want to move more than she was with Shooter carrying her, for fear of the pain being worse if she moved. Still, she couldn't just feel okay with leaving him there ... ]

Take... take her to the hospital. Please...
[If he caused permanent injury... he'd feel terrible. More terrible than he already does, at least.]
no subject
[But yes, hospital. She knows the purpose of that place, she'll head right there. If you wanna follow, that's your decision - simply refrain from striking again, and she'll not oppose you.]
(( OOC time: Do we BRUCE WAYNE'S STUDY our way into a scene change? ))

[ Once she saw him push himself to stand and follow them, she felt a little better. Okay, good, he was able to stand and walk, at least. He wasn't hurt badly enough that he couldn't do that. Hilda began to relax a little in Shooter's arms, just quietly waiting for them to approach the hospital.
She wasn't looking forward to being there again ... ]

[Ryu pushes himself, stumbles along. All of his energy... he'd been unable to leave that form until it was all drained. And now that it had been... he feels empty and useless and exhausted. Thankfully the Bastion is peaceful, and he drags himself forward until they get into the hospital, where he just drops into a chair weakly.]
[/2]
[SCENE CHANGE!]
no subject
[She doesn't care quite so much about Ryu, but it's not personal; as before, she's inclined to think he can see to himself if needs be. Hilda was the one who needed help.]
[...Ikuri doesn't have the patience to sit for long, and though she can read, nothing in here interests her. She soon gets up from her seat and starts to pace. ...and over the fifteen-minute blocks said pace seems to be picking up speed. She might unnerve the other patients if it keeps up.]
