Day 213, A New Hope (Open to All)
Who: Colin, and anyone else interested in watching Star Wars
Open: Open
When: Day 213, After Dark
Where: Out at the Dragon Field
What: Colin wants to get movie nights started, so he's picking a natural first choice
Format: Make your choice
Warnings: Star Wars, Colin (Though he'll be staying out of the way.)
For the past several days, Colin has been busily at work in his shop, preparing... something. Well, that something has been completed. It's a projection screen large enough for a good sized audience, and some mountings for sound equipment. He's already conferred with Anna to borrow her projector for this, and he's been working in secret out at the Dragonfield all day, keeping quiet about his plans. Though, anyone with half a clue what a movie screen looks like could probably figure it out.
After the sun goes down, the Bastion will be greeted with some booming sound and music from out on the Dragonfield. A familiar little jaunt for anyone who's ever been to a movie theater before...
"Let's all go to the lobby, let's all go to the lobby, let's all go to the lobby, and get ourselves a snack."
It seems Colin wanted to get things started in campy style. He checked with Rin earlier, a necessity for this to actually work, and there will be snacks available for anyone who asks.
Once the snack bar advertisement has played and gotten peoples' attention, several movie trailers begin to play, one after another. Some may be familiar to people, some will be completely alien. But Colin's planned this so people can have a wide variety of choices as to what they want to see later, if this actually catches on.
So... who wants to see Star Wars on the big screen?
(OOC: Oh, and since I forgot to mention it, Colin will be reading aloud the scrolling text, since he knows not everyone can read it.)

He's grabbed some snacks from the snack bar, and looks pretty excited. Even with what's happened in his life, he can still appreciate some good science fiction.

"You know what movie we're watching?"
no subject
... He's not a nerd shut up.
no subject
He takes a seat nearby, assuming Tobias won't mind.

"Yeah. In my world it's an extremely famous series of movies. It's considered one of the most influential in the genre of science fiction movies at least. They recently re-released it in theaters in my world with new scenes and updated graphics."
no subject
"Shouldn't we be starting with the first one, though?"

Roxas is not used to thinking about people's parents, much less them doing anything special
because there are no parents in Kingdom Hearts. Sora's dad was a fisherman.no subject

She has no idea this is the hawk she met that time
Whether he'd prefer to share or to get Kitten food of her own, she really doesn't care. It just smells delicious, and she wants some.
no subject
She seems so much smaller like this, it's weird.

Her curiosity often gets the better of her. Kitten is a friendly, affectionate dragon, but she has a neverending supply of questions, some of which are rather prying. She punctuates this stream of interrogation with an abrupt "Thank you." Taking a bit of the offered food, Kitten stops speaking to wait for answers rather than because her mouth is full. The thing about mindspeech is that you don't need to stop while you eat.

"You're welcome. I'm usually a hawk. I was born human, but I got stuck as a hawk because there's a time limit. Someone gave me the ability back, but if I stay as a human for more than two hours I won't be able to change again. It's science, rather than magic, but it's science I don't understand because it was given to us by an alien race. ... Aliens are creatures from a planet other than your own, if you don't know that."

She leans forward and daintily snatches another bite. "Can all humans shift their forms in your world?"
no subject
He runs a careful finger along the back of her head, petting her gently.

He picks up another bit of snack for her and holds it out. The idea of feeding a dragon is kind of amusing to him.
no subject
She leans forward to take the food, chirping her thanks in verbal dragon language rather than speaking them in any way Tobias can understand.
no subject
... That's weirdly cute but he won't say anything. He does have some pride. "But I guess that means we're almost the same age."
no subject
She nods with a chirp of agreement. "I was raised among humans. My adoptive parents and their children are human. It still always seems strange to see humans scarcely more than my age pairing off, marrying, having children. I don't intend to do those things for centuries."
no subject
He moves down to stroke her back carefully. "If you ever are. And if you're not, that's okay."
