Who: Colin, anyone interested in what he's doing.

When: Day 323, all morning. (BACKDATED)
Where: Several key locations around the Bastion.
What: Setting up surveillance systems
Format: Action to start, but anything's good.
Warnings: A short-tempered Colin.

[Just the other day he had been speaking with Nathan about the thefts that had been taking place. They'd agreed that some sort of surveillance system would be necessary in order to better defend against the thief.]

[Then the party came back, minus two souls, and Colin's mind went straight into defense mode. Cameras were purchased, sites were chosen, and plans were put in motion.]

[This morning Colin is moving from place to place, setting up cameras and wires as appropriate. Some of the cameras are huge, blatant affairs that can't help but be noticed. Others are tiny, designed to be hidden.]

[He's stopping by most of the buildings in the Bastion to set up at least one camera. If anyone has an opinion on big brother, now's your time to express yourself.]

I thought we were just getting cameras for the storehouse.

That was before we had a group of people decide that our lives aren't worth anything.

...you think this person snuck out of the Bastion, set up that trap, and then came back without any of us knowing they were involved?

I think that it's a lot less worrying to have one group of people sabotaging us and killing us than to have TWO working against us, and only one of them hasn't yet proven they're willing to kill.

I find that very worrying if someone who wants to kill us is already here living with us.

The bunnies were bad enough.

How are cameras supposed to help if we still don't know who we're watching for?

Identification and observation. If people take something they're not supposed to from the store room, or tamper with the monument, or anything suspicious where there shouldn't be suspicious behavior, we'll be able to react to it.

You know, instead of walk into a building three or four days after something went down and yell "What happened?!" like an impotent luddite.

Exactly how many places have you identified as ones where there shouldn't be suspicious behavior? And who's supposed to monitor them?

The monument. The farms. The food stores. The storage building. The hospital.

Any place where sabotage can kill us, either immediately or down the line.

And any place I've forgotten, I expect Nathan will tell me. As for who's going to monitor them... well, that's up to Nathan, isn't it?

Why is it up to him?

Because he's the only other person to suggest this. We discussed it yesterday as a matter of fact.

That and the fact that he's the one who knows how this place runs, and I doubt most people here would take my input on this.

Actually, I was the one to suggest it to him.

[She's clearly disgruntled that Nathan seems to have passed this off as his own idea.]

If it were just the storehouse, he could do as he liked. But you can't just put cameras up all over and start watching people without giving them some say in who's watching them and from where.

If you had any plans to visit the farms or the cannery, I might have brought it up.

As is, I introduced the cannery, as well as the new farming. I'm rather invested in their defense.

You've got no beef with the storage building, obviously... So that leaves, what, the monument and the hospital? Are you planning to play naughty nurse or kinky grease monkey?

[He gives her a quizzical expression. Those question are only half in jest...]

"Look but don't touch" is how I've heard some exhibitionists describe it. The thrill of performing in front of an audience. Getting hot and bothered with just a set of eyes on them.
