Day 250 [Open]

Who: Otoha and the Bastion.

When: Day 250.
Where: Near the entrance to the Skyway.
What: A new face shows up at the Bastion, and he's injured.
Format: Either.
Warnings: Possible language. Blood.

[As evening falls, a young man in his mid-to-late twenties lands on the Bastion from the Skyway. The landing is easy, as if he's been doing it for a long time, but there's something dripping from in his sleeve. His expression is neutral, and he scans the area for any sign of danger.]

[The place is inhabited, he can tell, but by who or what he has no idea. His hand comes up to rest on his sword's hilt as he starts walking, and any movement towards him will get a scowl at the very least. Only the very silent will be able to sneak up on him - though for the moment he's just walking slowly. Blood drips in a trail on the grass behind him, but he doesn't seem bothered by it, at least.]

[He might need some help, though.]

Uwah?!?!

A stranger from the skyway, dripping with blood...!!! Can you walk?! Wait, of course you can, you're walking right now!!!

You're not dying, are you, scowl-chan?! Ibuki can take you to the hospital!

[He turns to stare at her more fully, blinking in surprise. He hasn't been called by a '-chan' in... pretty much ever.]

... It's pretty hard to kill me.

[... Huh. Is he still bleeding? He glances back for a moment - oh. Guess he is.]

Don't worry about it. Happens all the itme.

[She gives everybody -chan, don't look too much into it]

... Ooh, still, that looks really bad! Do you really want to bleed all over the place, scowl-chan?! That's a bit gross, isn't it? Ew!

Just sit in the hospital for awhile! You'll heal up faster there than just walking around like that!

[He should be figuring out where he is, not wasting time with a crazy kid.]

Because there's not very many people around anymore! But besides that, Ibuki would hate to see some stranger show up here just to die! That'd be really sad!

Come on, come on, if it's not as bad as you say it is, then it won't take the hospital too long to get you better!

[His stance relaxes, very slightly, though he still looks suspicious. Hospitals... he's never liked them much. They're boring and always react badly to his 'condition'. But he nods, slowly. Fine. He can always leave if he doesn't like it.]

Okay! Just follow Ibuki! That's me: Ibuki Mioda!

[She'll start leading the way]

Oh! Oh! So, what's your name? Or should Ibuki just keep calling you scowl-chan?

Otoha. No 'chan'.

[Respect isn't a huge thing for him, but he's definitely not a -chan.]

Ooh.... You're one of those dark and broody types, aren'tcha, Otoha-chan?

... Didn't I just tell you not to call me '-chan'?

[He practically growls the words, his old yakuza accent poking through.]

Ibuki didn't call you chan, she called you Otoha-chan!

... ... Please don't break Ibuki's fingers or kneecaps just because of that, she needs them!

Hey, hey, Otoha...-chan... you know how some people have verbal tics? Calling everybody -chan is one of Ibuki's tics! She can't help it! It's true!

[Except with the specific example of Paar for some reason... maybe dragons are exempt?]

[... He just sighs and drags his unbloodied palm down his face. Yeah, he knows about that.]

Ah, here we are! [Yup, that's a hospital] It was haunted by a ghost when Ibuki first arrived, but Colin-sama-chan and the exorcists took care of that, don't worry! It's safe!

A ghost? ... Ghosts are just spirits. I wouldn't be worried about it.

[He's seen worse...]

... This ghost was pretty mean and hurt Ippo-chan pretty bad, but Ibuki doesn't like talking about it much, so she'll just let it drop at that!

[And into the hospital they go, towards the B-wing for some magical 10x faster healing!]

Part of my job is to protect yokai and humans from each other.

[Well. It's less a 'job' and more a 'duty' but whatever.]

Patchy-chan is a yōkai, but she doesn't want to hurt Ibuki and Ibuki doesn't want to hurt her! She's in my band, after all, and we're best friends!

That's... good to hear.

[It really is. He's seen too much shit happen when people just ignore yokai. He tugs his arm out of his coat sleeve and rolls back his shirt sleeve. ... Huh. It's closing pretty fast.]

Yup! Ibuki and Patchy-chan play with each other a lot!

[And she notices him checking his wounds]

See, see? It's not any ordinary hospital, Otoha-chan! Though, be careful, it won't work on like... really serious injuries that your body won't heal on its own!

I can heal most things. I'm used to getting injured.

[... It's not really something he should be saying so casually, probably.]

[ Its the red on the ground that she notices first. The only color she can see, it stands out a lot.

So she stares at it for a moment, before realizing it wasn't something pretty red dropped, but blood.

That can't be good.

Oh look. Its a trail.

Hello person at the end of the trail, there is a small eleven year old staring at you now. ]

[ Hello Stranger, have someone else who carries a sword. Only Duke is also in something that looks vaguely like a knight uniform. Oh well. ]

The Bastion isn't like the Skyway. [ Tension is pretty easy to read from people with weapons. ]

Even if you get into a fistfight and fall off the edge, the wind will just drop you back off.

[He turns and - oh. He relaxes significantly at the sight of a small child. He has no desire to just go off on a kid unless they start attacking him.]
