[Day 225] [EVENT] A sinking feeling
Who: Anyone and everyone
Open: Open
When: Early morning on Day 225
Where: Everywhere in the Bastion
What: Remember how cores used to be a thing? Yeah, they're still important.
Format: any
Warnings: terrible modpuns
[Early in the morning on Day 225, most people are probably asleep. For the couple of stragglers who may still be awake so late, though, they may notice something strange. At 2:31 am, any lights that are on start to hum, and flicker in and out of dimness.
At 2:32 am, every light in the Bastion (excluding the emergency lights) shuts off entirely.
At 2:33 am, a horrible grinding noise can be heard throughout the Bastion, seemingly coming from everywhere at once. This sound continues on for several minutes, throughout everything else that begins to happen.
At 2:34 am, for anyone outside Nathaniel can be seen running from the Apartments towards the Monument as if his life depended on it.
At 2:35 am, ever so slowly, sections of the Bastion begin to sink.
What do you do?]

To that there NPC at the top: ] Has anything like this happened before?
[ And other than that, Red will have out Blastoise at the edge of the camp to keep watch (won't ruin your spell circle there, Anya!), watching out for any animals that might come wandering their way. The noise from the Bastion had been loud, and some creatures were just naturally attracted to distress and trouble... ]
no subject
Seeing Red and Blastoise made him come to a halt, gray eyes turning to the distance.]
It's been quiet since all that noise.
no subject
Yeah. It didn't seem to attract anything this way. [ Weirdly enough, but best to count your blessings when they come. ]
How are the baby pokémon doing?
no subject
[Getting everyone out hadn't been easy and N had his fair share of concern over attracting unneeded attention with all of their ruckus.]
A bit shaken up still, but calming down now that things are quieter. How are yours fairing?
no subject
[ Though the excitement of the events would quiet down in them soon enough. Whatever happens though, he might just keep Blastoise out with him for the company. ]
If you need any help with them, let me know. [ He looks back there upon the other people on the Skyway, but just for a brief moment. ] Lapras can always sing them a lullaby if they need it.

[N grunts a sound of agreement. He has that problem, too, and not just with the young ones.
His own gaze follows Red's, a worried frown betraying his inner thoughts.]
It might be worth trying. The calmer they are, the easier this will be for everyone.
so sorry for how late this is
We can do it now if you want. [ To Blastoise: ] Will you keep watch?
[ CLAW UP. No problem. ]
it's cool, I had company for a week myself
[It's not like N really knows how to deal with emergencies like this.]

[ The land was still rather size-able (and filled with everyone around), so. Easier to get led than to fumble around people in search. ]

no subject
Hey. [ He greets them, nodding and shifting himself down onto a knee to be closer to their different levels. ] Thought you could do with some company.
[ It's not the first time he's met with the babies, nor with his pokémon - particularly Lapras. How well each and every one of them knew him or Lapras or trusted them, that was all dependable. All the same he takes off the pokémon's ball from his belt, showing it up in his hand for a moment before pointing it to the groud beside him.
And with a beam of ice-blue light forms the figure of Lapras, humming softly as the features of his face come together. His is a gentle demeanour, and when he speaks to the pokémon, it isn't in any way condescending. He wishes to soothe them first before bringing out any magical lullabies.
Red will get back up a little into the pokémon's conversation. Lapras can control the power of his lullaby, but the trainer still doesn't want to be so close its effects. No need to be getting drowsy just yet. But he does stand a while with a hand on his companion's neck beside him, before looking over to N and determining what he might do. ]
no subject
They all gather closer together, some coming to N's lap as he had offered, listening to Lapras intently. Even as Red stands N just gives a nod and raises a hand in quiet thanks. He'll stay for now, knowing they could use all the comfort available to them.]
no subject
And Lapras is fine without Red by his side too - and he wouldn't be alone, after all.
So Red nods to N, whispering a few more quiet words to Lapras and touching his head together with his before sneaking away. Lapras will keep a good eye on all of you. ]
